I'm talking about the ad at the top of the gallery page! Yikes- if I have to stare at someone else's flab for another second I'm gonna scream (I've got my own to look at for Pete's sake)! I don't know what the add is for because I keep averting my eyes... not good marketing as far as I'm concerned.
I have an ad blocker on my computer so I don't get any add at the top of the Gallery page, but I can see where it would be hard to keep seeing that time and again.
That's too weird...they were talking about that on our pen pal forum last night. Yes, everyone is sick of seeing that...they should keep it at card making ads on here. I myself haven't seen it yet though.

maybe these adds are why SCS has slipped in the "Stampin' Top 50"... SCS was number 1 forever, and I just noticed yesterday they are no longer. Kinda sad!

There's been some chat about the Stamping Top 50 ratings - apparently they get reset at the start of each year and the rankings go a bit weird for a while - somebody who's usually at something like 46 had dropped into the 600s was what brought it up. I suspect that's the reason that SCS isn't #1 at the moment.
I find the ads tied to keywords on the page you're viewing can be really funny sometimes - like the limited supplies challenge with a 'chocolate' theme I kept getting ads for really expensive luxury chocolate (including one with edible gold leaf) while I was viewing the gallery submissions  Maybe that's what's happening for you Kristin - it's an ad that's linked to the theme of the page you're viewing? I haven't seen it so I have no clue what it's advertising!

maybe I should stop typing in "flabby stomache"! LOL Just kidding.
But seriously, it's good to know about the wonky Top 50 numbers... although my blog suddenly shot up to 107 yesterday and it did kind of boost my ego! LOL!
I laughed so hard when I read the op you are too funny!! Im not opposed to ads, but I dont like the constant reminder that my own flabby tummy is rearing its ugly head!!

Sadly, computers are pretty dumb and they have no idea about context so if somebody says something about needing to put themselves on a "stash diet" for a while, the keyword "diet" is quite likely going to have an effect on the advertising you see on that page and it won't have anything to do with using up your embellies before you buy new ones ;)
I hardly ever see adverts on SCS for anything other than stamping/crafting supplies but I rarely go anywhere other than General Stamping, Tool and Product Talk, Techniques and the Challenge forum so I think the keyword potential is limited by that. If you spend time in the more general chatty parts of the forum, I guess the range of advertising triggered by key words is going to be much wider.
I know, that ad is gross! I started a thread about it just last night. I hope it expires soon.
My niece explained to me that when a woman wears low cut jeans and has fat hanging out over the top and sides it is referred to as a "muffin top." I cracked up when she told me that, and unfortunately now that's all I look for when I'm in the stores. Low rise jeans should be banned.
Amen - when will it leave??? I first thought it was an arm until I looked at the ad more closely. I liked it better when I thought it was an arm! The subject matter of that ad is absolutely everywhere!
That is one gross ad and what is so amazing is that there are lots of people who believe you can look like that cottage cheese stomach and three weeks later look like the flat, no stretch mark, no flab stomach just by taking some pills - no working out, no dieting, just swallow some pills!
If you're using either Firefox or Google Chrome as a browser, it's really easy to get rid of ads like that one... LMK if you need any help! I just started using Chrome and that's the ad that sent me in search of a don't-see-it solution. (I don't mind text ads... sometimes they're actually for things I'm interested in... but I do NOT want to see flabby bellies, overenhanced bosoms or bottles of "acai berry"!)
Maybe I should take a photo of my current 6 1/2 month pregnant belly (with belly button poking out, of course) and add it to that ad campaign.
Heee heee...just feeling hormonal and punchy at the moment.
We've sent a message to one of the site administrators. We'll have to bear with it until one of them gets online and sees the message. Hang in there with us!

Yeah, we would rather see your 6 1/2 month pregnant belly...I'm sure it's VERY cute compared to that flabby cottage cheesy looking thing at the bottom and top of our computers!!!
If I want to see that, I can look in the mirror or even better, just look down!!!
wow, the revulsion seems to be pretty universal! :^)
we'll get this eliminated just as soon as possible.
WOW, I had no idea we could get stuff like that taken care of. I really had no intentions of causing a stir... but hey, if it means not looking at it again that would be great!

Thanks!
LOL Daven's probably just shocked that 20 some women all agreed on the same thing!:p

I use Firefox and would not mind getting rid of annoying ads. Can you be selective? And I don't know what LMK means (wrong generation I guess LOL!).
