My extended family decided not to do adult gifts this year so I won't have many thank you cards to make. But my idea was to use these Tags in a Bag. I planned to glue the decorated bag to the front of the card and make a new tag for inside the bag that just says "Thank you" and then write a note inside.

I'm with you.. I've never done Thank you cards for Christmas.. Do tell all that do them who do you send them to?
All my family and friends who send me gifts. I don't send them to neighbors and local friends with whom we exchange baked goodies, though. They never do, and since it's reciprocal and we all express our appreciation in person, that seems okay to me.
But momma always told me to send a thank you note for any gifts or thoughtfulness, so I do. And I'm raising my boys to do the same. That way, people who send things to us know their packages arrived and were appreciated.

I only send thank you cards to far-away folks that I only see every couple of years. It seems like a nice way to keep in touch and let them know that I appreciate their freindship as well as their gift.

Same with me except my immediate family does not send thank yous for Christmas. I just send them to friends
I didn't use Christmas or even winter themed sets for my thank you's I did flower shaker cards. Mostly because I wanted to use up some of my confetti that I have had for years and haven't used.
I try to make Christmas Thank You cards every year not only from me but for my kids to send to their grandparents and aunt and uncles. Here are some that I just recently finished and uploaded. I just love the Basic Grey Wassail paper and used some left over scraps on my cards. I had some cute reindeer images that I had stamped off from a friends stamp last year that I never used on Christmas cards so I came accross those and used them on my kids cards.
I love to recycle Christmas (or any) cards I receive. I use my Christmas cards (received), cut them up, add scraps of trim, stickers, buttons, whatever works, and try to make them unrecognizable as recycled. I trim the envelopes to match. I do the same with other cards (ie, baby shower), cut them up, remake and return them as the gift card (they always comment that it will be going in their scrapbook)...Janet Loved the other samples...beautiful!
I always send thank you cards but don't make them specifically Christmas ones even for the Christmas gifts. This year I made a promise to myself to use the scraps sitting on my desk, and I did! I made 8 thank you cards with odds and ends, ribbon, brads and other embellishments. Then I made a few extras with other 'odd' pieces from other projects. I really enjoyed doing this, it went very quickly, and I cleaned/cleared my desk as I went.
As a teacher, I always send thank you cards to my students for their gifts, whether at Christmas or any other time. It's another 'lesson' to them to show that thank yous are appropriate, and they just love to receive their own mail. Also, a friend once told me that she never let her daughter use a gift (or spend the money received as a gift) until she had written a thank you for it. Pretty wise! Any excuse to make cards, right? This year's thank yous were the s'mores snowmen on their graham cracker snowboards-found here on SCS.
I was tired of looking at Christmas stuff after handmaking the majority of my cards this year. I used Valentine colors. Black, red, pink and white. They turned out really cute! And, they can stay out on the tv or fridge until mid-february.
Like another poster, my mom taught me to send thank you notes when someone gives you something and I am raising my children to do the same. These were given by my son (age 4, who helped design them) to the girl that gave him his secret santa gift and to his teachers that gave him a nice goodie bag of things other than sweets (yeah!)
He also said he wanted to send a thank you note to Santa this year so we did! His address is: Santa Claus, North Pole, AK 99705. There are volunteers that read all the mail but I don't know if a thank you note will get a response.

I send them to people who I can't thank in person or exchange gifts with like aunts and such or if I get an especailly thoughtful gift! Love the tags in bags idea!

For my Christmas thank yous, I saved the gift wrap from each person and am incorporating portions/images of it into their thank you cards. It's been fun, and easy too.
Love your cards. I see another embossing folder that I don't have but need to buy. I've got a stamp very similar to that folder; use it often as I work with international students. They really appreciate it. Cindy

I don't do thank you notes for Christmas gifts from family as we are all together and take lots of time to thank each other then. I do send TY cards to people I receive gifts from in the mail or to my students(when I was teaching). That way they know their gift was received and appreciated. We're just not as formal in my immediate family. And I think that's okay. I taught my children to always express their thanks to family members at Christmas--hugs go a long way. They were required to write thank you notes for b'day gifts however. I'm not sure why I make the distinction, but that's just the way we do it.
Goals for 2015 50 scrapbook pages/50 cards---progress 35/50 cards Complete my daughter's wedding scrapbook album Spend more time enjoying my friends and not so much time obsessing on work!!!

WOW...what a GREAT idea!!!
I actually ended up making M&M folders with a snowflake "theme" on the outside and my thank you message on the inside. They were cute, easy and I am giving them all a little "treat" as a thank you. Since most of the Thank You's are to co-workers and people I see on a regular basis, I only had to mail a few.
