Default Do you stamp more when it is cold?

Believe it or not, it is snowing in Houston. The cold has helped me get in my stamp room and get all the rest of my Christmas cards done. They are ready to go in the mail tomorrow. Just wondering if the cold makes you all want to stamp more or just sit under blankets?

Yes it helps me stay with my projects in a more timely way.

lol I'm the opposite. I live where it gets extremely hot - it's nothing to get over 45*C (120*F) every day for weeks on end so that is when I get to do most of my craft. We're on a station, so work outdoors, and we plan to do most of the work in winter so we don't have any big jobs in summer.

I've been stamping a lot more because it's been so foggy to drive anywhere. My husband and I haven't been going out as much because of that, but also because of my recent accident. My craft room is super cozy and the vent blows down right at me, so I'm always warm. I love this cold weather. I'm a Washingtonian girl, so it could never get too cold in Cali for me.

unfortunately the cold sucks all the inspiration right outta me!! I hate it!!

each night when i get home from work I try and tell myself to go up there and stamp away, but then I see the warm cuddly couch & fire that my hubby has going and I'm totally persuaded away. I hope to get some in this weekend!

Can you stamp some images and color them while you are sitting in front of the warm fire? It might help you get inspired as well. I know that once I have an image colored I have ideas in my head as how to make a card to show off all my coloring.

I usually stamp more when it is cold. During warmer weather, I am outside a lot more. This year I am in school, though and too much of my time is spent studying instead of crafting.

Yes, especially since I don't want to be out in it. I'm being such a whiner this year. I rather stay in the house and not spend money.

If I didn't stamp when it was cold, I would miss 6 months out of the year! LOL

I stamp all winter...turn up the heat to get motivated in the morning sometimes...and we camp all summer.

I actually have a really hard time sitting and stamping when it's a nice warm sunny summer day!!

I prefer to stamp more when the weather is cold but it doesn't always turn out that way. I work for our school district, so I have more spare time in the summer. I'm also usually too tired to stamp in the evenings after I work so I'm a lot more relaxed in the summer.

Me too! Except, I usally drag what ever I'm working on onto the patio so I can watch my son play while I get stuff done. Now it's dark by the time I get home from work & I don't have a good designated workspace in the house.

I get stuff done in both extremes. My craft room is on the end of the house where the furnace and air conditioning is, so when it is extremely hot/cold that is where I retreat too. I can stay comfortable there when it is cold or hot in other parts of the house due to the weather

The cold makes me want to go play outside with my puppy! Lol! Actually it makes me have more time for scrapping because I don't have so many things to do outdoors. But it also makes me workout harder (indoors) since I'm unable to get in as much physical activity as I do in the warmer months.

I stamp whenever I can regardless of the weather. I'm a night stamper (after the kids go to bed) so the only thing I am missing out on is sleep. Who needs that? *LOL*

I am just like LateBlossom I stamp whenever I can find the time. I love to get up in the morning, get my java and go downstairs to check out this site or to work on stamping. I have one more swap I need to do then I am going to concentrate on learning the brayering like Zindorf. She does such BEAUTIFUL work. Oh only to have a little of her talent...

Absolutely! Otherwise I tend to be outside doing gardening. When it gets cold in MN, I start working on indoor projects...card making, quilting, furniture refinishing, etc. We have many months of cold weather so I figure winter is like Stamping Season in MinneSNOWta.

My husband bought me the coolest (really warmest) anniversary present. It is an oscillating room heater with a remote control and dvd's for my stamping room. He told me since I have everything known to stamping and crafting, he thought he would make my room warmer. It is the sweetest---or he just wants me upstairs so he can have the good tv---either way I am happy to stamp in winter now!

My sister lives in Bellaire, was driving to Pearland (another sis) and had to call me. I do not think I knew that it would snow there! She got about 2 inches. Her husband and daughter had arrived at a party/awards thing (Lombardy?) before it started and when everyone left they had such a surprise!

Where is global warming?????;)

We farm for a living and I have lots of flower beds and a veggie garden, not to mention 4 kids, so I definitely stamp more when it's cold. From end of harvest until spring planting I have a lot more *me time*!

I love to stamp and craft when it's snowy outside and I'm toasty inside, but I also love to stamp at any time of year! The only problem I've found here in the summer is that craft ink won't dry in high humidity. Otherwise, it's full on stamping/scrapping all year long!

I have to agree with Cher's comment EXCEPT I would miss about 8 months out of the year!

My husband and I are outside during the "summer" months as well. Unfortunately, sometimes our long daylight hours prompt me to stamp later than I should! But I take along stamping/scrapping projects when we go camping. Usually, I have something that can be done by the campfire or in the camper!

cold is good stamping weather, but do you find that your stamp pads don't work as well when the house is below 70 degrees? They seem sluggish to me and act dry when they are not.

I don't notice that...we keep our house around 66...sometimes I turn it up when I feel slow. What kind of ink are you using? That might have something to do with it?

I want to move to Alaska SOOOOOO bad!! I love winter, I love mountains, I love pine trees!! DHs job work won't send him up there unless he changes contractors...and he likes summer...so it's just not gonna happen. For a while...LOL!

After snow last week, a step back to summer over the weekend, another cold front and three days of deep, dense fog that did not lift during the day -- I am now home with a cold. It is still foggy and dreary and I have decided that the "cold therapy" I am using today is going to be a huge stamping/embossing session. I am going to try my hand at the faux cloisonne with magazine pages. I am feeling yucky and don't have a lot of creative juice flowing today, but I can play with my stamps and enjoy that.

I craft more in nasty weather just because I don't want to be outside.

My stamping table is by the big kitchen window so it was always too cold to stamp...until! I got my portable radiator which is awesome!

Added a daylight lamp from big lots since it gets dark at 5 here and I am set to stamp no matter the weather!

I would love to have a warm craft room but no central heating means that using the spare bedroom as a craft room in winter is a definite no no!! So I set up camp in the sitting room with a big open fire at my back and a blanket around my knees! I craft much more during winter and garden most of the summer. I actually feel guilty crafting indoors during decent weather!!
Although the last two summers here in the UK have, literally, been a washout with all the darn rain and floods.

That sounds so wonderful and cozy! I can actually feel the warmth of that big open fire on my back.

I stamp all year, but I do tend to stamp more in the winter months. My busiest work season is spring and summer - so I look forward "snow days", when I can watch the snow falling as I stamp away in my craft room.
Spring and summer I like to be in my garden or out on my deck.

I actually feel guilty crafting indoors during decent weather!!
Although the last two summers here in the UK have, literally, been a washout with all the darn rain and floods.
I have the same problem! My craft room is a spare bedroom and don't have central heating. Most days it is waaaaay to cold to go in there! I have to put a space heater in there for a couple of hours before I can go in. Which reminds me, I should probably do that now...
