Wish me luck...I tried some new adhesive for my ATG
I have been putting off ordering refills for my ATG...it kills me to buy something so boring with the money that could be going to new stamps, kwim? Anyhoo, I always check Ebay first for good deals, so today I find this listing for adhesive refills. I read the feedback first to see if anyone had bought it, and I found 4 different people so I emailed each one to see what they thought of the product. Now, I LOVE my ATG and would never compromise the quality, but this stuff had me intrigued. It was so much cheaper AND it was Acid Free (which I don't even normally buy since I am primarily a card maker). Three of the four emailed me back (never heard from the fourth) and said they were very satisfied and liked it just as well if not better than the 3M. One even said that she did think that it "gunked" up as much as the 3M.
So long story short, I went ahead and ordered it...I will let you know how it fares!
Yesss.. let us know if its worth its salt! ;) My DD is about to buy an ATG. Yep, I'm green. She does major scrapbooking and could use the extra savings. I'm wondering if your new tape will bond as strong and as permanent as the ATG. Please DO let us know. I'm very excited about it.
I do have a question. You said *One even said that she did think that it *gunked up* as much as the 3M.* Did you mean it did or did not gunk up as much? Thanks for posting, I'm anxious to hear your results!
May God bless, Sandi

Subscribed. I will be watching, too, to see what you think of your new find.
I haven't invested in an ATG yet, but I am interested in doing so at some point and will definately be interested in your take on these refills and where you found them, if you feel that are good.
Sorry, sometimes I can't type as fast as I think...she said it did NOT gunk up like the 3M.
I didn't really see a brand name, but I will check when I receive it...he emailed me and said he was sending it today and it is supposed to ship Priority so I am hoping to have it by Saturday. I am probably going to wish I would have bought 2 "lots"...the extra shipping was only $1.50
that price is unbelievable, and he only had two sets. So it must have been
tape he is no longer using. The tape depot doesn't have 1/4 inch tape anymore that I have seen. I have used scotch brand ATG tape and another brand and have never had any problem as long as it is the right width and
wound on dispenser right, but have never found it cheaper then $4.00 a roll, but haven't checked ebay.
He has another ebay ad, but raised the shipping to $9.95, I imagine the sellers name is thetapedepot,
so I bet he sells items that are discontinued

I have emailed him and asked him about the shipping amount...I did forget to ask him about the availability however. Maybe I will know more when he responds...I'll let you know!
I just ordered two lots for total of 24 rolls. This is the exact same product that is sold on www.findtape.com. I have ordered from findtape.com before and their prices are much higher. I jumped on this right away. It is great tape.
Blessings.
The Ebay seller did respond to my email...it seems that the cost of shipping is going up to $9.95 for 12 rolls but if you buy another "lot" the shipping price only goes up $1, that makes each roll about $1.83 each...that is still a smokin' deal.
Sprtchick, thanks for the info, good to know!
I did for get to ask if they will be getting more but this is what it reads on their listing so I have to believe they will be listing more:

Just a little update...I received my product within 3 days. Each roll of tape comes individually wrapped and looks just like the 3M. I have not actually put any in my "gun" because I am currently using up the last of my 3M...I will keep you posted!
states that "You Can Use Your ATG-50 or 3 M Dispenser "Without an Adapter"" I have the red ATG and I don't think it is an ATG-50- I wonder if it would still fit.
thanks for the tip--I ordered two sets on Ebay today and the total was $39.50 for 24 rolls, with shipping. There are some sets stil on ebay from this seller!
which did you order? i couldnt figure out which to get !! i have the 714 ATG. i dont care about acid free....need 1/4 inch rolls. maybe i should just give them a call
Isnt this a great deal? As I said it is the same tape that I normally order from www.findtape.com. It is just as good as the 3M product. I am thinking about snagging two more boxes of 12 because I really do use a lot of it.
Blessings.
Okay, so far I am VERY impressed with this product. It seems to lay down on the paper much better than the 3M and it does appear that you will have less "boogers" as I call them (you know, those annoying little clumps of adhesive that are on the inside of the gun). The "stick" is amazing, if anything it is better than 3M...I think you actually have less "play" time...you almost better get it right the first time you lay it down. Anyhoo, this is my two cents worth...anyone else is encouraged to share what they think about this product!

Reverse Wound Transfer ATG-7502
Length: 36 YARDS - 108 FEET - 33 METERS - (12 Roll Sub Pack)
Size / Quantity: 1/4 inch - 6MM - 144 (12 Roll Sub Pack)
$18 per 12 rolls...free shipping over $35....order total was $36
It looks like it is the same company as the one I bought from on Ebay, but with free s/h over $35, this is a better deal. How were you able to buy just 36 rolls, everything I see is like 144 ct.
Thanks for the info. If I hadn't just bought 24 rolls of the 3M tape, I'd jump on this. Btw, your dog looks exactly like one of my dogs!!! We have 2 boxers, ages 6 and 7.

you have to click on the drop down box...the top one to the 12 roll pack....and it is the same company...I just ordered directly from their website rather than ebay...I hate ebay...

If possible could you post the exact link that you used...I am not getting anything with a small quantity, everything coming up for me is a huge amount!
Try this. But, in the drop down box that says Length, click on the bottom option that says (12 roll sub pack). Then you can choose what width you want and it will come up at $18 for the 1/4" size.
Thanks so much ladies I am in need of more tape and the shipping is a 4.95 flat rate thanks for the link. I also so not like the boogers as shell_scraps calls them. I will have to give this other place a try.

I got my tape today from the Ebay order and will try it when the prsent roll in my ATG is gone--probably tonight as I am working on 18 swap cards. I will report back!
The original person I bought them from said they were acid free...since I am primarily a card maker it doesn't really matter to me, but you may want to double check with them before purchasing.
OK, I just went to The Tape Depot and ordered 24 rolls for $36! What sold me is someone said this brand doesn't "booger" up as much as the 3M! I find when I get to the final 1/4 of a roll , I started gumming up more in my ATG gun. So I'm hoping this new tape won't do that, but that it has the adhesive capabilities of my 3M.
