Default If you could only have one set of Stampin' Spots...

...which one would you choose?

This is to go with the Greeting for All Reasons, my first set of stamps. My 2nd set will be Greetings Galore.

I also have a set of watercolor pencils and will be getting the basic black classic pad.

Thanks

I have all the classic pads in Soft Subtles and Bold Brights and only a few from the other collections (so far!). I don't think you could go wrong with any set but I think the Bold Brights are great since you have all colors of the rainbow!!

Personally, I use my soft subtles the most. But with the holidays coming up, you might get more use out of the Rich Regals or Bold Brights.

I'm also a Soft Subtles gal,.....but, I have to agree with Michele with the season / holiday.

Which color cardstock do you use more often?

Hmmm...that's a hard one...I don't have any SU cardstock, but the Bazzill Basics cardstocks that I use the most are either vibrant colors or earthy type colors. So....I guess that would narrow down my choices to Earthy Elements or Bold Brights? LOL!

My holiday cards won't be stamped, if that makes a difference ;)

The Earthy Elements Spots seemed to be shades of one another, KWIM? Hard to tell from those eBay pictures (I'm ordering the Idea Book & Catalog with my first order).

Bold Brights would be great for A Greeting for All Reasons. Star...YoYo Yellow, Holly/Ivy...Glor. Green/Real Red, leaf...any green, candle...any color, ... you get the idea.

Bold brights are my favorites. I also found that they are the easiest ink color to match with paper if you can't get the SU paper.

I would go with Bold Brights, but that is a hard thing to answer for someone when you don't know their stamping style. Sounds like you are a new stamper, and I always suggest to start with BB because of Birthday cards, Thank You cards, etc. Happy choosing.

It looks like I'm the only one that would go with Earth Elements... If you have no pads I'd go that route because it has the black and that is used most for coloring in with watercolors and pens and such... EE is also my favorite color group... I know you dont have a wide selection of colors like with bold brights.... Just my opinion...

You're not the only EE fan Kristy. They're my favorites. I use the inks and the paper all the time. I find them the easiest to work with because they all look fabulous together.

Earth Elements are truly my favorite colors (you only have to look around my house and how I've decorated) but I believe Bold Brights are the most versatile to a new stamper. All the holidays are covered:
Winter- Brilliant Blue and Orchid Opulence are fab together
Valentine - Pretty in Pink, Lovely Lilac, Real red, Pink Passion, Orchid Opulence.
St. Patty's day-Gable green, glorious green and green galore
Easter - All the greens, pinks, purples
Mother's Day - Any and all colors work with the flower sets
Father's day - Great primary colors will work
July 4th - Real Red and Brilliant Blue
Summer - Love Green galore, yoyo yellow and tempting turquoise-so hot!
Halloween - only orange green galore and lovely lilac with a touch of black
Christmas - Greens and Real red

Then the next family of color to get would be the Earth Elements. They'll help with autumn and Thanksgiving.

Just my $.02

Good luck, Let us know what you decide,
Michelle

Oh gosh, thank you so much for everyone's help! WOW! Very, very useful tips! I have decided to go for the bold brights spots, with my eye on the other three ;)

My opinion is Rich Regals (although all of the sets are great). I think the Rich Regals look rich and elegant, perfect for this season and go well with the Greetings... set.

I would go with the Bold Brights too, then the Earth Elements, then Rich Regals then the Soft Subtles. I would switch the EE and RR sets around if you already have a black ink pad. I just use the BB and RR more than most colors!

I think for the Holiday cards Bold Bright or Rich Regals, but all around I think Earth Elements are tops! I have all three I named - don't use many soft subltles.

I have to say BB. They have all the standard colors - Reds, Greens, Yellows, Blues for any type of occasion. Red seems to be a color that is used in many seasons & occasions. RR has no yellows & EE has no blues, SS has no Red
