I just tried this. I need new gold EP :( I've had mine since 1995 and I think it's stale or something. When I heat it, it just cracks and falls off the paper (no matter what paper I use :( )
I did my first one this month! It was fun but time consuming. I did a bunch of flowers/leaves at the same time so have some leftovers...just don't know when I'll get time to make a new card....:( hmmmmm, just might have to make time!;)
Sounds like fun. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to it, though. I have a lot of stuff going on this week. Looks like stamps with a bit bolder lines will work best for this, right?
What an Awesome technique Beth! I can't wait to try this. I hope I have or can find a good magazine laying around. I love DawnL's card using this tech. I'm out to search for some good mag. pages!
Do we HAVE to use the magazine papers, or could we use some BG papers for this technique too? Just wondering before I start in on something. Not that I couldn't find any magazines! lol! But I thought that BG papers would look neat too! Thanks, Beth!! This looks like some fun!!

You mean I have to cut up my magazines?!?!??! I am horrible at refusing to get rid of magazines, so I have lots... I guess I just have to find some that I can bear to cut up!
I'll give it a try tonight!

I think the look you want is glossy/shiny, so that's why glossy magazines are recommended. But, hey! As artists, we can do anything we want, right?

OK! I got what you're saying!! The shiny is supposed to be part of the design. Cool!! I will just go ahead and try out BOTH ways so we can see what it looks like!! How's that?! Thanks for anwering my question!

Ok, here it is. I wish I could have found more colorful sections in my magazines. I'll just have to start cutting them out when I see interesting parts! Great challenge Beth!
I love everyone's cards. Now I wonder if I can talk my DH out of some of his outdoor magazines. Instead of throwing old mags out, our library has a give away section and a lot of times they have some pretty good mags. I guess I better go check them out today. Thanks for the great inspiration ladies.
Wow, this was a fun challenge. I had seen this technique on the Carol Duvall Show and had wanted to try it. Leave it up to SCS to give me the old boot in the ....and use it as a technique challenge. Thanks for the boot.

For those who don't have any magazines, I'm looking at another possible option - wrapping paper! I'm working on it, but I'm limited on time, so not sure I'll get it done today.

I'm checking out the junk mail catalogs I got today in the mail
I also saw this on Carol Duvall and wanted to try. So... since I love this thread each week but don't seem to upload and participate (I do on my own), this week I am going to go for it.
I finally jumped into a challenge I took the whole day to stamp and have fun and I don't feel a bit guilty!!;-)
So here's my card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I think I'll outline the black cs edges in gold pen next time. But it's not too bad for a first try. ??

The first one I did today was with the magazine pics and I cut out a new one for each petal! I think that this would work much better if I had a larger open stamp!! Cool technique!! I loved it!
This second one I did was with the BG papers and I liked it this way too, but again, I think the stamp needs to be large. I also think you need detailed BG paper too.

Oooh!! Good idea! I browsed throught the few magazines I was willing to cute in to, but didn't find much. I DO have some good wrapping paper, though! Thanks for the idea, lacyquilter!
