Correct, it is two different specials. You do not have to purchase $70 worth of retired stamps to get the free shipping. You would qualify with any order.
HTH!
And there's also 20% off of any stamp set in the sampler with a $20 order. All specials can be combined, so enter your retiring sets first, then your sampler sets.
AARGH! I made a HUGE order through my demonstrator on 12/8. It would have qualified for the free shipping. At least I didn't order any of the retiring sets...
I have to say that the prices they have listed as oiginal prices on the web site are different than those in the catty.... There are NO sets in the catty that have prices other than $**.95. Meaning everything ends with the 95 cents and when you look at the prices of the retiring sets on the web site they have prices that end with .63. I have not checked my catty to see if online is higher or lower but something is "fishy" there....

If you are not signed in to a specific demo's website and are just on the main Stampin' Up! site, the prices are 10% higher.

Once you select a demo, your online prices will drop to those listed in the catalog (or 10% less for the retiring stamps). Just another reason to order though your demonstrator's website when placing an online order.
so what's the point of giving a discount if they are already 10% higher?
The point with the main website is to encourage people to shop through their demonstrators. The "discounted" price is ONLY available if you purchase through a demonstrator. If someone, for whatever reason, does not want to use a demonstrator then they will pay 10% more than the catalog price, a higher shipping cost, and NOT be entitled to hostess benefits/stamping rewards (free stamp set, free merchandise).
So basically if you order a retired stamp set online, without a demonstrator, you'll be paying regular catalog price.
If you order via a demonstrator (whether through the main site or your demo's website) you'll pay 10% less than the catalog price, spend more than $70 and you'll get free shipping too.,

Well said, that was exactly what I was going to say but 1mom beat me to it and summed it up very nicely! I love that SU is supporting their demonstrators by offering a better price (the usual catalogue price) for customers who purchase thru a demo than for customers who want to go straight through the SU corporate website...not something you find every day. That speaks volumes to me about what a great company they are...and I am very excited about this promotion! For my stamp club hostesses, it is a great thing as that club order will definitely earn the free shipping plus they can scoop up those favorite retiring sets at 10% too...even if they end up doing a little Secret Santa shopping for their spouses to put under the tree for them? lol! When I look at the retiring set prices on my local demo's site, they are listed at the same price as the SU corporate page. Should I just ask my demo for the discount?

Could it be that you haven't actually logged into your demo's site with your online shopping profile?

Glad to know that! I had a customer call me last night because every time she would add an item to her cart it would revert to the non-discount price. So once you go to checkout, are the prices each reduced by 10% or is there a lump sum 10% taken off the total?
