Ouch! Thought maybe you might have a fancy stamp impression on your hinder. I was stamping this weekend and noticed my shoulder kind of hurt...I was reaching a bit farther than normal to the stampin scrub cleaner. Interesting to read about stamping symptoms. Hopefully you heal up quick from your tumble. Maybe you should ask your hubby to install a dumb waiter for you! ;)

You need to be very careful. I slipped, did not fall, 9 months ago and still am unable to sit for more than 20 minutes. That is not a lot of time for stamping these days. Hope you feel better soon.
I had a similar incident on Friday night while working on my new stamp/scrap space. I was sitting on a piece of furniture, you know one of those storage cubes that you get at wal-mart in the hardware section, anyway the top on the darn thing snapped and through it I went. I managed to jab the screw in my butt cheek on the way down and got a huge bruise for my efforts. Who knew this would be such a dangerous hobby to anything other than my wallet.
Nancy, so glad nothing is broken, assumedly. I injured my tailbone in ny daughters childbirth and it took ages to sit comfortably. I imagine you may be even more sore tomorrow, but hopefully, only soreness

Ouch! Be very careful with that tailbone! ( Is that the coxis or something like that?) I hurt that when I was a kid and my rear would go numb after sitting for a while. This went on for years.
And YES, by all means get checked out by the doctor!
LOL! :-D I was wondering why my left shoulder was bothering me recently and then I remembered I had been using the nesties and the Cuttlebug! What a relief! Left arm or shoulder and you start to think heart attack-Yikes!!
At least I know when my RIGHT hand goes numb, it's just the carpal tunnel!
I took a header down the stairs a few weeks ago carrying a huge box of SU stuff. So maybe this stamping thing *is* dangerous after all. I had a huge bruise on my hip where I hit the marble floor and saw stars for a while from hitting my head on the wall. Ouch!

Here is my Accident from Yesterday...... I feel for you
ok, Please don't laugh too much, especially not as much as my DH did.
After doing all those gifts yesterday, I was trying to clean up some this morning before work and I was rushing around in my pj's (just sweat capri's and a tank top). I had a couple of those 12 x 12 storage units with the 3 drawers in them and decided I wanted to move them to my other crafting room.
Well, I picked them up and since there were 2 of them stacked my vision was blocked a little so as I headed down the hallway, I stubbed my bare pinkie toe on the step ladder I hadn't put away yet and this knocked me forward where the organizers slammed into the hall wall and the force of this caused the drawers to fly open. ---- when they came open - my body was still going forward from my trip and I hit the front of the drawers slamming them back shut ----- and, of course, I was positioned just right so that when the drawers slammed shut just the ends of my "ta-ta's" were slammed into the drawers shutting........ Yes it hurt and I cried and DH stood there laughing...... I have some big ole bruises now that look like blood blisters....
Try explaining that to the ER doc, lol (no it wasn't bad enough to go there but the thought of it is funny)

Feeling your pain here -- literally! I was running late for work yesterday and tripped near the bottom of the stairs in the parking garage, and landed squarely on my butt. It hurts much less now than it did last night (had to be really careful how I turned over in bed! :rolleyes, but it is still a little sore and this morning when I woke up I had a slight twinge in my back. If it still hurts the same in the morning I may go get it checked out...
And you know what? I was more annoyed that I scuffed my shoe (patent leather finish) than anything else! :P

 Oh, you gals crack me up! Most of the time I make my DH listen to the funny stuff on this site, but this one isn't making the list - he's a Captain with the volunteer fire department and and EMT (but he's an ironworker for a living), so I'll get a huge lecture about how people just don't take home safety seriously anymore...
As a result of how seriously HE takes this, my kids are the dorky ones who actually have fire drills at home, know where all the tornado-readiness supplies are, can change batteries in the smoke detectors, and my 5 year old son actually admonished me the other day to bend at the knees when I was picking up a cat that had been killed on the highway and ended up in our yard.
I'm putting all you injured crafters on my prayer list - feel better and be careful!

your DH sounds like my dad. He was a volunteer fireman too. I have been conditioned to look for a fire exit, other than the way i came in, at all resturants, clubs, ect. Count the doors from my room to the fire exit so I can get out. Don't have anything in your car that could become a projectile. Ect, Ect Married a DH that does none of that. Kinda drives Dh crazy doing this stuff. Hey but someday it might come in handy.
Yikes - that does sound painful. I think we are most susceptible to accidents when we are in a hurry (which is most of the time). A few months ago I was doing a lot of stamping getting ready for a craft show and I pulled a muscle in my shoulder from all the leaning over the table. My husband and son tease me about "stamper's shoulder" all the time now. It took 5 or 6 visits to the chiropractor to clear up that problem.

Ouch! I agree - stamping can be a little dangerous. Don't put stuff on the floor where you might be walking while working!
I have stacked stamp sets on my floor and as I turned and was not paying attention - tripped right over the pile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor thing. My stamp room is an obstacle course right now with all the projects I am in the middle of doing. I guess it is time to clean up so that I can protect my bum.

Well I'm feeling a little better today. Last night trying to sit in the chair was kinda hard. But sleeping was a little bit harder. Everything started to hurt.
Today I have found more places that hurt, that didn't yesterday.
My right ankle, my ribs, elbow. But at least I can walk and sit without to much pain.
A little hint for carrying things down steps: Put the items on the floor at the top of the steps, go down about 3-4 steps, turn around and pick them up. Put them down on the next step (or balance them there if they are to big to set there without falling off. Back down about two steps, then move the stuff down about two steps. Repeat until you get to the bottom of the steps. I do this all the time with my laundry or anything else that needs to be taken down stairs.
As far as tripping over ladders, etc. I can't help you much there. I hope your "ta-tas" and all the other miscellaneous parts are feeling better real soon for all of you. Who knew stamping could be so dangerous????

I slipped off of the bumper of my Jeep about 8 weeks ago while trying to reach in and get some packages out. When I fell I hit right below my right breast on the handle to open the tailgate. I nearly passed out with the pain. I just knew I broke a few ribs. My hubby was out of town so I just took it easy until he returned on Saturday (this happened on Monday). By Saturday I could not even get up out of bed. I have had many broken ribs before so I knew there was not much the drs could do other than wrap me. My hubby literally carried me to the ER on Sunday am. My ribs were not broken, but I had torn the cartilidge that is attached to the rbis from the ribs...I thought these "broken" ribs hurt more than usual. They immediately gave me a shot of morphine and lots of pain pills, sent me home and told me to take it very easy...It has been 8 weeks and I still have a lot of pain but it is getting better. The arthritis in my wrists is now taking my mind off of the ribs..YIKES..it sucks getting old...Blessings.

OMG! I had a diagnostic mammogram today, with FIVE slides taken of one side, so my ta-tas are in complete sympathy with yours. At least mine don't have blood blisters though!
OMG! I know what you mean. I have a herinated disc and if I sit too long while making cards all night...boy, I mean to tell you...I can't get up, I have to call my husband and sometimes that is at 3am.
Other than that, I do want to say this...last night while working on some cards I was grabbing some brads from my stash and all of a sudden I screamed. I stepped on a pencil and the lead got stuck in the bottom of my foot. I hobbled all the way down the stairs crying like a baby. It hurt so bad. I was literally walking down with the pencil stuck in my foot. My husband thinks he got it out but the way it was bleeding, it was unreal. Today, I couldn't walk on it...I think there's a small piece still in there:( It's not like my room was messy or anything, I just dropped a pencil but didn't bother on picking it up.
So I know what you are saying...let me go back to read the other posts.
Take care!

That's why I tend to stand most of the time unless I'm coloring. Herinated disc injury.

I have a tall barstool at my drafting table in my craft room. I often hop down to get something from one of my other tables, and when attempting to hop back up, I somehow will knock the chair over. Luckily I haven't went with it yet! I hope your tailbone will be ok! I tumbled down my stairs like that once, but my new socks slipped on my freshly vacuumed carpet. I bounced my head off the top step, and my rear off the 3rd step down. My neck hurt for the next couple weeks, and my rear for about a year and a half.
If your tailbone continues to hurt, get an xray.
My dog excitedly knocked me down my basement stairs and I cracked my tailbone in 2 places. (I had just returned from the butcher with a box of meat, and the basement door wasn't closed all the way)
It helped sitting on an inflatable donut. I didn't go to the ER until about 4 days later, because the pain was too much to bear. (Should have went sooner)

I held my breath when I started reading your post because ironically, I fell 2 days ago down the hardwood stairs and landed on the edge of the step. I fractured 3 Lumbar Vertebrae. So, I'm glad your cushion took the worst of it. We don't really think about the accidents that could happen, but please do be careful. My doctor told me that when he was on call a few months ago a lady had fallen down the stairs and injured her spinal cord. I'm very lucky and am very glad you're okay.

Well since dh had a doctor's appointment last night. I got checked out too.
I don't have anything broken.. Just some really Deep Bone Bruises. on my tail and butt cheeks. I also have a really good bruise on my right upper arm and my ankle.
I know it could have been a lot worst. And Thank God it wasn't!
I'm still sore, but I know it will go away in couple of weeks. So I'll just have to be a lot more careful.
I did find out why I slipped on the stairs. We have some old wooden stairs that are set at 90* and then soon after that it's straight.
One of the steps had a broken piece of wood hanging off and I found it!!
So now dh is going to fix those steps so on one else falls.
Yikes, while I don't have any stairs in my apartment, I am always banging my knees on the edges of my desk because my space is so tiny. My knees are always bruised. I know how you feel, darn crafting supplies eh?
Thanks for the update. Glad you're no worse than you are. I guess you are really black and blue.
Take care and be extra careful. Yes, DH has to repair those stairs and sooner better than later.
