Instead of a new catty every 6 months, the plan is to release a new one in June and supplement it with two "magalogues" (cross between a catalog and a magazine) in the spring and fall. The first 48 page magalogue will be released in February.
And ........YAY!!! Images will now be shown at 100% in both the catalog and the magalogues! (I have to get used to that word....magalogue!)

Well this sure is News to me.. I just went to our AngelsOnly section and I didn't read anything about this there.
Lots of other information but nothing about going back to one catalog per year.
I know that the New catalog comes out in Feb 2009.
This is GREAT news!!! I really wish SU! would do the same! We just got a catalog in August and they are putting a new one out in January! Seems ridiculous to me..
i have been wishing that SU! would go back to 1 catalog a year and just beef up the seasonal/minis...
maybe someone will get wind of this idea... hey! a girl can dream!
Ditto. You know, momis mama, I find myself agreeing with you all the time. Were we separated at birth, I wonder? LOL!
Two SU catalogs a year has turned out to be just a bit much. I was thrilled at first but find myself merely annoyed now that I have to mark up a new one every six months with what I have (to keep track of what paper and inks I have/need) and don't find much value-added, although I do like seeing all the samples. Couldn't they just put those on their website, though? Maybe they do...I don't go there because I'm always here, where there are plenty of pretty samples to look at!
Anywoo, having two catalogs a year hasn't make me buy more stuff, and I really miss the minis.
I think with going with 2 catalog per year. The companies were thinking more on a Marketing point of view.
At least I know this is what TAC was doing.... Plus some of our Supplies get discountined through out the year. And we have nothing to replace them with.
So with having two catalog per year. They would be able to get more supplies from other companies.
For Demo's in general: Sometimes it's hard to purchase cases of catalogs.
And now that we are going back to once ayear catalogs, I'm sure that alot of demo's will be happy about this. and other's won't.
Well it is heck on demos with 2 catties per year. Buying current items to suppliment and replace retiring items, buying something not knowing if it'll still be current 6 months later. I'm not liking it and have basically become hobby because of the frustration of keeping up with it all. I'm ok with that personally but I know some that are trying to keep it a business aren't ok with it really.
I know they get more money out of the demos...but it can be hard on us customers too. Trying to get all the sets we want in just 6 months...I love SU and TAC plus many other companies and it is hard to keep up.
Blessings...
After much thought and discussion, we have decided to return to an annual Inspiration Book and Catalogue, to be released at Seminar. This new catalogue plan will involve a Base Book which will be our core catalogue. This catalogue will be released on an annual basis at each years summer Seminar and will offer a variety of merchandise including our top-selling stamp sets. To supplement that annual catalogue, two magalogues (cross between a magazine and a catalogue) will be released throughout the catalogue yearone during the fall and one during the spring. These magalogues will have a seasonal focus and will also introduce new products, including new hostess sets. Coming out with a base book with a one year life span will result in our Angels not spending so much out of pocket to keep up with the bi-annual book.
I love two catalogs a year! To each their own, I guess. But having two gives you so many more options, plus a great excuse to host parties more often. Scrapbookers like to have their paper change more often as well.

Yep, in agreement with the masses here, like it "just fine" the way it "used to be" -- just one catalog per year. Gave me more time to ponder, plot, plan and SAVE $$.

I'm not sure about TAC catalog but SU has 34 different packs of 12x12 designer paper collections plus 10 scrapbook kits which includes different 12x12 paper than the other 34. I'm a scrapbooker as well and to me that's plenty of variety in designer paper so having 1 SU! catty as far as paper goes its good.
Like I said though... I'm not sure how TAC is, might not have as many options. Hopefully with 1 catalog they will beef up that section or offer more with the magazine/catalogs throughout the year.
I am so glad that they had come to this! It is simply not fair to any Demo who has to invest the money we do into supplies and stamps that are gone in 6 months!
I sincerely hope SU listens to this and follows.....

As a customer, I definitely prefer 2 catalogs per year. As a demo I also prefer 2 catalogs per year. What I would like is if the catalogs were smaller and less expensive similar to CTMH. They rotate their catalogs quarterly, the products focus on that season, others may not be in the actual current catalog, however it is available for order from a previous one. From a demo point, I feel that is a much better marketing strategy.

I Love the excitement when new catalogs are released, so it was fun to have that excitement twice a year.
I am hoping the Spring & Fall supplements are beefier, so I will feel the excitement at their release.
I am also hoping they will be affordable for both customer & consultant.

I really like TAC and need to find a new demo to buy from. I am glad they are going back to 1 catty per year. I wish SU would! I do NOT like the 2 a year at all.
TAC use to have full size images in their catalogs along time ago. But when they switched to 2 catalogs per year. The full size images stopped being set at 100%.
They went to 70% Which still made it hard to view and really see just what the images looked like. Yes they do have in the catalog & online the Acrylic block sizes you would need for using with the stamps.
But still sometime looking at a stamp you don't stop to think about the sizes.
Oh, I think putting the images back at full size is a great idea. It was just too hard to figure out what size they would be being 70%. If the image is 50% then I just use a ruler and double it and it gives an accurate idea. Thanks TAC! I'm sure you'll be seeing results of that change as soon as the new catty comes out.
I like that CTMH has 3 catalogs a year. Always something fresh and fun to play with. Remember as a demo you dont have to own everything. you can get just one new set with each catalog and show it in fresh and fun ways.
Or a lot of times sets you already own appear in the newer catalogs.
