...a small recipe book for a stampin' club Christmas cookie exchange? I would like to use the SU top note die for the top and bottom. I was thinking I could use my cropodile and a metal ring to hold the pages together. That is unless one of you have a better idea! I am so open to suggestions. TYVM

I like your idea. One change perhaps. I like to have two rings on the side of recipe books. The ones that only had one ring fell apart -- the pages tore off so easily.
For a bigger project take a look at the recipe stand in my gallery. I don't know how many you need to make or how soon, but these stands by Mr. Bingaman are great.
Don't know how this would work with your Top Note idea, but you might want to consider using clear envies or 6x6 brag book page protectors to slide the recipes into, to keep the recipe cards from getting messed up in the kitchen. . . .
Good luck--and post a picture of what you come up with!
Hi!
Due to a time management issue, lol I had to table my recipe books for another project with a shorter deadline. I'm making an accordian tag thingy.
You can see a pic of my inspiration at justritestampers.com. I need this gift for the 8th. I have until the 13th for the recipe books.
I also ran into the problem of how to mount double sided recipe cards. I'm going to have use another method than the creative idea you so graciously shared with me. Believe me I love your idea and have it saved for another time. I'm going to use trimmed down 4 x 6 photo pages. I've been struggling with how to do this until I found this product by accident. You will be one of the first to receive a photo of my finished recipe books. How sweet of you to follow up with me on this. Thanks so much for all your time and effort and the kids too! God bless and have a Merry Christmas!

I saw this really easy recipe album on www.stampersaurus.typepad.com
She used one of the small inexpensive photo albums from a craft store where the cover inserts are removable. It's adorable and looks like it wouldn't take long to finish. I've not tried this yet but have done something very similar with the inexpensive 2 year calendars (size of a checkbook) in $1 bin at Michaels. I just removed the cover inserts and inserted my own stamped/embellished cover. They make great gifts.
Thanks for your suggestions! I would like to add that I have made the covered 2 year calendars as well. I add a piece of reverse DSP to the inside front and back covers to make the calendar look finished. Then I cut a piece of the DSP and insert it into the barrel of a Pentel RSVP ink pen. You are right, they make great hand stamped gifts! Thanks again!
