Default Best Cardstock

Just wondering what people consider the best cardstock to make scrapbook pages/cards with! I heard alot of raves for Bazzill so I bought 200 sheets (different colors) today at micheals. I was getting some weird looks though at the checkout counter! So what do you prefer to use?

WOW, you bought 200 individual sheets? Yeah, that cashier fingers were probably quite warm when she got through ringing your total up. lol
There is all kinds of discussions here about the best cardstock. My personal favorites are Papertrey Ink white, and Georgia Pacific white cardstock very cheaply priced at WalMart. All the other cs is from SU. I roam office stores always on the lookout for something new.

Bazzill is great stuff, and if you got it cheap that's awesome! I used to work at J's and got my employee discount on top of all sale prices, so I totally OVERstocked up on Die Cuts with a View. You know, those humongous paper stacks that you flip through and go ooooooohhh because they all coordinate so well? In the stack? Yeah, well, they are decent papers (I especially like the textured white core cardstock for accents and backgrounds) but once you take the stack apart and put them in your color-organized plastic containers, you see how strange the colors really are. Like a green that's not really olive but not really khaki but not really... well, anyway... that might just be me.
You'll like what you got, but once I've moved the DCWV mountain, I'm going with SU. I have almost all the inks - heck, by that time I may have all the inks and be on reinkers... and it would be nice to be able to match more closely.

Can I be nosy and ask why not? I'd be terrified about shipping it - at least if I ding a corner getting it home, I know it's my fault... plus I like to touch and feel stuff before I buy it to know what I'm getting. That said, 6 cents a sheet is an AMAZING price!

About a year and a half ago I got a good deal on some Bazzill cardstock from QVC. 160 sheets, 40 colors. With shipping it was less than 20 cents a sheet. It was a good deal for me because at that time, the closest store with Bazzill was 30 miles away. I loved having the variety of colors and textures, including some colors that I would not have picked out myself. They may have been discontinued colors, but I didn't care. If I ever see that QVC has a similar offer, I just might order it again!

Bazzill is certainly my basic coloured cardstock.
I agree with the poster who mentioned the white-core DCWV( both that it's nice to use, and that the colours are sort of - unique!).
I also got a whole pile of Core-dinations card with a gift voucher, again its good for sanding.
But for a card base, Bazzill does me. It's a bit lighter than the cream and white card I use, that's the only thing. But for a scrapbook page that's not an issue at all because it will be in an album.

I {love} Prism cardstock. The texture is lovely AND it's easy to stamp on (unlike Bazzill). Plus the colors are yummy!

I personally don't really like the texture so I have to say I am not a huge fan of the Bazill. I had some in my stash and used it and didn't realize until later that I had some of my diecuts texture up and some down so it really annoyed me -- so I decided then I was going to avoid using textured c/s!

For me, it's all about the COLOR and how it matches or goes with the photos I use, so as long as I have the right color -- I have all the colors of CTMH, most of SU, and a lot of CM so if I don't have the right shade between all 3 companies there is something really wrong!! I find I use all 3 -- love that SU is so thick and love that I am able to get so many colors between all 3 companies. So for me I can't limit myself, I get all 3. Right now with costs the way they are I would limit to SU and CTMH though as CM I think was a bit more -- although they now have 10packs of one color, but it still is limiting in ways you can get your c/s, so I stick with SU and CTMH.

Yes for that reason also I don't like the texture. I don't like to stamp on textured C/S. If I need to jazz up plain c/s I will versamark it to add a stamped texture.

I've purchased Bazzill from Ebay and QVC with no problems. Usually the paper is shrink wrapped and packaged in a 12X12 box...never had a problem with dings and shipping. The price is awesome too and no taxola. ;)

I love Bazzill as I was a scrapbooker first. The texture just adds something subtle and classy to card bases or mats. Of course I stamp on smooth CS.

I also love, Neenah, PTI and of course, SU cardstocks. I don't like white core CS, so I'm not as fond of DCWV or CTMH, although I have a bunch of both.

For Scrapbooking I love Creative Memories CS and Stamping I use SU! and PTI. Occasionally I will purchase patterbed papre form J's, HL or M's. I rarely will purchase CS from the above. Mostly because of the thin weight just not the greatest quality!

I used to only buy SU, but after trying PTI, I can't use anything else for card bases...all the others bend and bow and feel flimsy in comparison to PTI. I still stick to SU for colors...it's easy to know where they are, and what works with what if I just stick to one brand. Once in a while I will buy a sheet of Bazzill to go with something if I need an off-color, but it's pretty rare.

I love SU--it matches my ribbons, brads, ink, DP etc., I got rid of all my other paper. It simplified my crafting life!! But I've only been at this game for about 20 years; so what do I know???

It's even cheaper if you get it from your local paper distributor. No shipping either.

Default cm cs

I mostly use creative memories paper. Liked them better when they had several shades in one pack. Maybe they'll bring it back. Really like how su all matches. But buy whatever is on sale for my 3 kids who all like to scrapbook(9, 7, 3 1/2). they use a lot and well cm & su are a little pricey.

I like Bazz for layers, but I don't like it for a base. I prefer PaperTrey for stamping and card bases, closely followed by SU. I think the main reason I've gotten away from SU CS is that it's just more complicated to get... you have to go through a demo and pay what I think is too-high shipping. With PTI, I can get free shipping at $50, and for that price I get a lot of CS... a lot!

Me too! I love Prism - its my favorite.

But Bazzill is nice too - I just turn it to the smoother side when I need to stamp on it.

I stick with SU for everything except white because I want that "simple crafting life" too. I still haven't found a white that has the weight I'm looking for.

I've never heard of PTI, where does one find that - is it an abbreviation for something?

Wow! Thanks yall or all the input! Before I knew about Bazzill I totally stocked up on DCWV! I still love that stuff. And as someone mentioned already I just flip the cs to the smooth side if I want to stamp on it! I also have alot of paper by CM.

I LOVE Bazzill Cardstock and Stampin Up! cardstock. These are the two that I used the most!!

I buy my Bazzill Cardstock in Monochromatic Colors 8 1/2" X 11" from The Angel Company.

And the Stampin' Up! Cardstock from my Local SU Demo.

I use papertrey or SU! as my base, bazzil for layers, or mats, and patterned paper for accents...

I would love cardstock that came in the texture/weight of American Craft double-sided paper (yes, lots of times I buy it just for the plain color on the other side even if I don't like the pattern). Is PTI similar to that?

For colored base cards I have been using SU cardstock. For white card bases I use 120# Pure Luxury from Gina K Designs - it's the best I have ever used and I have SU and some of the other papers mentioned.

I mostly use www.marcopaper.com for my cardstock though I have lots of other brands too. I love the Cougar brand 80# white or natural for card bases, but they have all kinds available. I too like to touch and feel before I buy and they have a neat sampler that you can purchase & look at tons of colors, textures and weights. I think they have a sale going on right now also.

I have a big stock of other cardstock I have picked up from the craft stores before I found SU cardstock. SU is by far the best quality I have found. I also like Colormates and Paper 24/7 both of those can be purchased in bulk but they aren't as thick as SU.

Now this is an area that I know quite a bit about seeings I have opened up a webstore that ONLY carries cardstock. I think Bazzill is overrated and one of the reasons I opened up the store was because there is GORGEOUS cardstock out there but for whatever reason I just kept coming across the same names as mentioned above for cardstock. Knowing and seeing this other paper forced me into opening up so that the stampers out there have a choice. Not wanting to turn this into an ad but there are other papers out there that work wonderfully.
