Default Just Curious...

I have working on my Christmas cards this weekend and realized how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my adhesive remover! That wonderful $1.95 purchase saved me paper and frustration! Seriously, I don't think I could live without it now!

So, I was wondering, HAVE YOU PURCHASED SOMETHING ON A WHIM AND ACTUALLY FOUND OUT HOW MUCH YOU JUST LOVE IT??? Well, this could be enabling here, but hey CYBER MONDAY is tomorrow....

Two things I didn't think I needed- I got them both free when I was an SU! demo w/ their rewards program - the Stampa-Ma-jig and the Perfect Layers Tool. Love them, use them all the time, couldn't live without them!

I would have to say my cuttlebug. I swore I'd never buy a die cut machine, but got a 'bug at 60% off on Black Friday 2 years ago. Fell in love with the first turn of the handle! I use it like crazy for dry embossing and lately with nestabilities.

The Basic Grey magnetic 12 x 12 mat kit. It protects my work surface, it's a great firm surface to stamp on, it's self-healing if I need to use my x-acto knife, and it's one big measurement grid. For months I resisted buying it, thinking it would just be one more "gadget" that ends up gathering dust on the shelf, but I got it with a 40% off coupon one day and now I can't imagine not having it!

Lame purchase, AWESOME tool! I bought a cheap paper piercer from M's, just to have. That (sharp - be careful) tool has done wonders for me, piercing, piercing holes for eyelets, getting stickles unstuck, you name it. ;)

From the hardware store in Dallas (Elliot's) a stiletto for quilting but I love it for everything. My most expensive whim? The Cricket the day they were introduced. My daughter saw one for $99 this week and I paid $275 5 years ago.

I'm with you, Joni. I just love my paper piercer. I use it every time I make a card. I especially like it for peeling up teeny tiny stickers and other blingy things.

i just thought of another tool I bought that I just love...

it's made my QuicKutz and is called the QuickStik...The Quicker-Poker-Picker-Upper!!! It is wonderful for sliding those tiny pearls off the acetate without losing the adhesive!

For me it is the adhesive remover also, along with my cutter bee (is that the right name?) scissors. Could not live with either one of them anymore.

I have the Stamp a ma jig too. It's somewhere in my house in a box. That's as close as I can come to locating it.

I would say my favorite is my Cuttlebug too.

I would probably have to say my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. I had never used die cuts or felt the need to, but I loved the embossing I was seeing. After I got it, I would emboss every once in awhile. And then I got Nestabilities, now I use my Cuttlebug all the time. So easy to layer things, etc. I can't live without my Cuttlebug or Nestabilities.
A QuickStik is hopefully in my future. And after doing 60 Christmas cards, my next SU order will include an adhesive remover.

When you talk about an adhesive remover, are you talking about something like Undo? Not sure I know what you mean.

It looks like a bug square brown eraser. It's a solid bumpy piece of rubber (I think) that you rub across unwanted adhesive and it pulls it up.

Works pretty well

Probably it's the kind of adhesive you use. Mine works great with mono-adhesive and Dotto.

As for a whim purchase that you now love, for me, it's the Multipurpose tool from CM. I call it my sticker lifter. It's the cheap little thing that lets you lift up layers without destroying them. Love it!

QuickStik.......bought it at Archiver's because it was next to the register when I was checking out. I use it almost everyday for a variety of reasons.

I couldn't live without my Stamp-a-ma-jig!!!!

My 6"x6" square clear quilter's ruler. It's the perfect tool for measuring layers on cards that are already created.

I also love my adhesive remover (but mine was a gift for joining a stamping group) but at first I thought it was weird and would probably be the most useless thing ever. Boy was I wrong, I use it all the time and its almost gone so I need to get another one soon.

I also found that the adhesive remover works well on liquid glues but not so great on tape runners.

I bought a tool in the beading department. It is designed to pick up beads. I use it to hold pom poms when I use chalk or to pick up and swirl ink. It was only a couple of bucks but it works great for the above task.

I bought my adhesive eraser at AC Moore. It doesn't look at all like SU's. It's shaped like a short (maybe 2 inches) fat gray pencil (all rubber, or whatever). It works like a charm!

When the original Crop-A-Dile first came out I was in Micheals and had a 50% off coupon burning a hole in my pocket...nothing jumped out at me, except this pink handled eyelet setter that wouldn't make any noise was over $25 so it had to be worth using that coupon right??

RIGHT!! It was one of my favorite on-a-whim purchases ever. I don't think I have ever hammered anything on my table since!

I just "re-discovered" my ancient Hermafix repositonable dot roller thingy. It was from way back before such tools came it cutesy colors and packaging. Lately I've been absolutey LOVING it for holding down elements temporarily while I decide on a final placement. I've been working on a bunch of 3-D projects, so I can move the item around without disturbing the elements. I love how when I take off the element I can just rub off the temporary adhesive and it was as if there was never anything there.

Was this very wordy? Sorry. I'm sleep deprived - 2 little kiddies and a DH away on biz. Anyway - I love my repo Hermafix dots!!

I agree what is a Ka Jinker?

I took my Stamp A Ma-Jig out yesterday for the first time ever and either I was not using it right, or I just don't like it...:(

re: Ka-Jinker...

I have to say, I'm intrigued. Not so much for paper crafts, but for fabrics and home decor stuff. I'm wondering if it works on non-Ka-Jinker embellishements as well. Hmmm...

The only problem with my Ki Jenker, is that I bent the needle trying to bind some chip board and something else together , and now I cant find a replacement needle, or another one! I got it at AC Moore, but Im not sure they are carrying them anymore. They carry a Tagger thingy, and it may work the same. Im sure it would work on fabric too! They sell these great embellishments, mainly just a button with one hole.
