I would like to stamp right on a candle so it can burn safely. Has anyone done this in which they colored in the stamped image? Please share your knowledge and photos would be great!!!

There is a stamped candle in the DD Gallery, but if you're not a paying subscriber, you won't be able to view it.
The candle was heated with a heat gun until it was soft, then stamped with Fall Whimsy, and the image was then brushed with Pearl Ex to make it more visible. It's a very nice look, and the candle could be safely burned.

candle colored with floor wax in aquapainter and pearle ex
As I went to get my pearle ex out to color over the image I had stamped on the candle with staz-on, my aquapainter that was filled with floor wax was staring right at me. I thought, hey, why not, it is filled with wax; sounds perfect for a candle. So I used it to color in one of the In Full Bloom flowers. It went on great and I wanted to make sure the floor wax wasn't unsafely flamable so I held a match up to the side of the candle. It did start to melt the wax but it didn't flame up; it seems that the floor wax is safe to use.
So....my question is, Are the candles with tissue paper not safe to burn? I want to know before I make them for gifts and burn someones house down, Thanks!!!!!!
I would like to know this, too! I purchased some candles a few weeks ago thinking I could make some nice Christmas gifts, now I'm not sure whether to go through with it or not!
Personally, I wouldn't burn a candle that was done with tissue paper. I just don't think it would be too safe. You can, however, burn them down part way so that there is a hollow place in the center that's big enough to put a tea light in. Then the tea light can be burned, and you'll always have your pretty, stamped candle!
It would probably be safe to burn a large, multi-wicked candle, because they never burn all the way to the edge, so the flame would never come in contact with the tissue paper.

I wouldn't advise burning a candle with the tissue paper either - unless you only burn part way and then use a tealight candle in it. When I first did the tissue paper on candles, I burned my first experimental candle to see what happened. The candle melted away and left the tissue paper which fell over into the flame.
The ones I made for gifts weren't stamped. I printed photos onto the tissue paper, so nobody wanted to burn them anyway.

Now that's a great idea! Brings to mind all sorts of possibilities. I think a wedding picture on an anniversary candle would be wonderful! What kind of photos did you use?

Happy Heart, I used more professional-style photos – not just snapshots. In Photoshop Elements, I faded out the edges of the photo so it feathered out to blend with the candle. For my aunt, I used a picture of all of her grandchildren together. A friend’s parents were celebrating their 50th anniversary and I used one of their wedding pictures.
Using smooth tissue paper, tape it to a piece of cardstock and it goes through the printer very nicely. It’s such an inexpensive thing to make but gets WOWS from everyone!

Hey Girls! I been using the candles in 3D stamp camps that I've done in the past. I recommend using a 1-1/2 inch drill bit to drill in the top of the candle the depth of a tea light candle. Drop a tea light in and reuse your candle again and again!
I curious about the photo though?? Do you print the photos directly on the tissue paper or how do you transfer it to the tissue in order to get it on the candle?
Yes, print the photo right on the tissue paper. Just tape the tissue paper to a piece of cardstock. I just make sure the top side of the tissue paper is taped down really good - watch the corners - so that it feeds through the printer smoothly. The other sides I don't worry about too much as long as it's secured to the cardstock. I use regular scotch tape.
