I was looking at all the beautiful additions to the gallery today and noticed how few of us are taking a moment to tell the other person what a great job they did. Many of the cards had over 100 views!!
I want to challenge every one of us to make at least 5 a day!! If you took the time to look, take the time to say wow!
today is especially weird though because it was VSN this weekend.. There are so many uploads during VSN that most of them don't get comments... i'm just trying to look through the cards in the galleries of challenges I participated in to start!

I try to leave as many comments that I can, especially for the challenges, but there's 2 things that really hinder me and those are how the system is set up. It's very slow and boggy and I do have high-speed. Something needs to be changed about that where you can leave numerous comments at a time rather than wait for each window to open, post your comment, wait for that to make sure it's successful and then move onto the next. It's simply too time consuming. Second, it takes hours a day to post comments which I simply don't have anymore. There was a time period when I was losing over a thousand a month in wages by not working to make sure that I had commented on every single card with a challenge and I'm still trying to recover financially from that.
I agree you look at the cards and see WOW a lot has viewed it but no comments.. I too agree makes a person feel good that there is just something there.. When I see a card that I favorite I try to make sure I've commented.. I know some say doing it as a favorite is just the same, but, well to me it isn't
I love to leave comments and I try to leave as many as I can, but as one poster said, it takes so much time. We have high speed internet, but it's the site that's slow. Everything else I go into is fine, and even replying to forum questions goes quickly, but not commenting on cards. I have to wait over a minute on each card. That doesn't sound like long, but try to comment on only 20 cards and that's over 20 minutes. I too think if I've favorited a card, that should tell the artist that I'm impressed enough to want to use it for inspiration someday. I don't always feel that way about all the cards I comment on. I just love to look at all the gorgeous cards that are uploaded every day. I spend 2 hours in the morning, some in the afternoon and probably another 2 hours in the evening. A lot of that time is spent just waiting. But thank you all for taking the time to upload your cards. They truly are an inspiration to me.

i agree, the commenting system is just plain slow. it would be a lot easier if you can just submit your comment without it taking u to a separate link... flickr has a great system!
I'm with the ladies who find it frustrating because it is so slow. There are so many beautiful cards that I would love to comment, and I do love to get comments on mine, but unfortunately, I don't always have the time. Are there suggestions to make it go faster?
I usually leave 20-30 comments a day. As for me, if I see lots of views on my cards and not so many comments, I assume the best, that lots of people liked it or they wouldn't have taken a closer look, and that they just didn't have time to comment.

You can always right-click on the pic to open it in a new window. Do these to like 10 cards at a time and enter your comments that way. That's how I do it, then I am not waiting for the comment to post, I am on the next card already, kwim?
I too look at many of the cards each day - But as a lot of other people said, leaving a comment takes forever. Also, I don't know if it is just me but when I leave a comment I CAN"T go back to the previous page. Samething if I favorite a card.
Maybe if someone in the "site suggestion" section would take a look at this there could be alot more comments. Five a day seems easy enough. Off to look at the gallery.

That's the way that I do it, but you still have a lag and wait time.
I leave comments everyday...7 days a week. It really is nice to see the work you do appreciated. I see so many beautiful cards..I can't help but let them know I appreciate their efforts and their sharing them with me. I'm a better stamper now because of the tutorials, and sharing on this board.
I do comment everyday and usually more than 5 but I am going to be more mindful to make sure it is over 5

I find that it's really easy to leave a positive comment when you go to see a card close up. I always do. I also try to do it to the cards that don't have any comments as well. I scan the recent gallery for the days latest uploads & just work from there. I find I can easily do up to 10 cards a night with no problems.
I just love that everyone wants to share & that it helps me out when my mojo isn't so good, or when my "get up & go has got up & gone"

It seems to me that cards that are done for challenges get more comments than cards uploaded to the general gallery. I try to go thru "x" amount of pages in the gallery and comment on the cards that caught my eye enough for a closer look. And if I fav....I leave a comment!
I figured out a long time ago that most of the cards that got comments were the ones participating in some sort of challenge or those of the "superstars". When I first started posting, I'd spend more time checking in to see if someone left me a comment. Now, I just post them for myself ... and try to leave comments for others. We all need a lift now and then.

Me too! I'd love to comment on more cards but I get the stinkeye from my DH when I sit in front of the computer for too long! LOL!
This not being able to go back is such a microsoft issue!! We have a mac at home and I can go back and forth all the time. I didn't understand the issue. I'm at work and have a moment to add some comments and now I get it. What a pain! I'm still trying to do 5 a day!!
10 more tonight that is a total of 42 for today! Well it's yesterday now! What I am doing is commenting on the cards that have many views but no comments! Hope I made someone smile!

Hey guys! I just tried the Open in a new tab thingy and I was able to comment on over 10 cards in 10 minutes!!! Wicked. No more bah-hum-bugging gallery posting for me! Off I go again...
Great thread! I love commenting on ppl's creations and am glad others are going to do so too. I notice too that ppl look then just leave. It's like hello I spent time on this, is it nice?
