Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
You can upload but it won't get approved so it will just sit in the queue and appear as "Pending approval" - the gallery moderators deserve a day off and Sunday is it! Uploads by Fan Club members don't have to go through the approval process so your upload will show up straight away if you're a Fan Club member, whatever day or time you post it.

But... it's best not to upload at all if you can help it so that the mods aren't faced with TONS of waiting images first thing on Monday morning. ;)

The approval isn't a question of judging merit, lol. Don't worry about that! It's really just to make sure the project is going into the right gallery. Once in awhile things are uploaded that shouldn't be, but that's more the exception.

Yes, you're absolutely right - sorry, should have made that explicit!

I think the moderators are basically checking that spammers aren't posting dodgy images. One UK forum I belong to had an unmoderated gallery and you wouldn't believe some of the nastiness that got uploaded there - they've changed to a moderated system as a result.

I've had one slip by, it wasn't approved after about 12 hours or so. I deleted it, re-uploaded, and it was approved in minutes. I suppose it does happen from time to time.
Thanks for answering this question. I thought I might have done something wrong in uploading some cards. I didn't know about the Sunday thing & I do get a little confused with the time issues between here in Aus & where ever the mods are. This now answers my question.
However, if you are uploading more than one card, do you still get to change all the details (ie do the second page stuff) before it goes to the gallery proper?
Thanks from a time confused Aussie

Yeap. each image will have it's own template to edit. In fact at this point I don't even bother filling anything out on the first page, I go straight to second page where all five images are listed and work from that page.

It's very rare, but occasionally we gallery mods do have to delete images. The things we remove are personal photos unrelated to SCS or Stampin' Up events and photos that do not depict papercrafted or altered items (for example, one person wanted to share a photo of a truck that she used for inspiration for the card she made... the photo of the card was fine, but the photo of the truck had to be deleted). We will also delete duplicate uploads.
Whenever we must delete a photo, we will send a private message to the person who uploaded it with an explanation of why the photo was deleted.
Remember that when you save your image on your own computer, it's important that you give it a unique filename, rather than using the default name provided by your photo or scanning software. If you upload something with a default name (i.e. "SCAN01"), and another SCSer has already uploaded something that happens to have that same default name, the gallery software can automatically delete your upload when it checks for duplicate postings.
Based on the number of positive comments that upload received, I have a difficult time believing that it was a "missed approval." I'm guessing that the photo was either deleted by the person who uploaded it, or that the gallery software "read" it as a duplicate upload and deleted it.

My bad!
I love browsing the gallery so much, I get a little annoyed by missing photos. It's my OCD coming out. I'm one of those who'd prefer "removed for publication" missing cards to totally disappear too ;)

Does this mean that all our photo's have to have unique names? Or just not the numbers that the camera/scanner gives them?
Just clarifying as I can't seem to upload some cards I have done. It tries & then stops. I don't get the second screen for changing the details for the other cards & it just goes back to the upload photo's page. Any help would be great.
Thanks
