Sniff, sniff. I was so sad when I opened up my email and read their letter that the store is closing.
There was another thread a few weeks ago that someone had heard that this would happen.
First the Memoirs in Clay Terrace went out of business and now Scrapbook Corner. So sad that with the limited selection at Mikes and HL, that independent stores can't stay in business.
On a selfish note, everything is 25% off so I will be going there this week.

I was at their all day crop on Saturday and there was a rumor floating around. I am very sad to see them go. I will be at the store checking out the sale.

Yeah, I noticed that alot of independant scrapbooking stores are closing. I live in Florida, Tallahassee, and this is the final week for the Scarpbook Market. I worked there just on the weekends, and I hate to see them go.
Oh no! I loved visiting both of those Indy area stores when we went to visit my family. :( I guess there are still Cord Camera and Archiver's, but you are right that there is something special about the independent stores.
I will have to try to get up there. Its been a few years since we've had "local SS's" on the southside so I know how you feel. M, HL, JA & even A's just don't have the local flavor.
I just went there today, and I was surprised at how empty it looks already.
Here's a dumb question. I have a loyalty card that I have had for 3 years. when you spend $300.00, you get $25.00 in free merchandise. I only need to spend $17.00 more to get the $25.00 in free stuff.
Problem is, after what I bought today I really didn't see much else I want except single sheets of DSP. Should I go spend the $17 or is that just stupid?
Wow - that's not good. We still have our little LSS here in Mooresville, and there's one called Ally Scraps or something in Avon...but other than that I think that's it for the locals. I do think we're lucky having Cord Camera, Archiver's, HL, Mike and Jo's...but nothing compares to the personal service you get at an independent store. If it were me, I would spend the $17 to get the $25 and stock up on things you'll need - like DSP and adhesive or some brads and eyelets or whatever. Cord Camera discontinued their card thing which bummed me out completely so that opportunity isn't likely to come around again.
