Default Help With Importing Photos Into Blogger

I know how to import photos into my blog. No problem there. But what I want to know is if there is a simpler way to position the photos where I want them when I have more than one.

For my past couple of days, I have included more than one photo in my posts. I want to be able to put them in a particular order. I get the first one inserted then try to bring in the next one and it overrides what I have already done and puts the second photo at the top of the post. So I drag and drop the second one where I want it - which is completely annoying because it only allows me to do this within the scope of the tiny screen so I have to do this several times to position it. But doing this has completely messed up the positioning of the first photo and all the text. So I fix that and try the third photo with the same results. So I tried inserting them in reverse order (last photo, then second to last) figuring that if each new photo ends up at the top then they will already be in order. But that doesn't work well either.

So I stopped trying to get everything straightened out until I have inserted all my photos but it's still very time consuming and very annoying to have to drag/drop/respace/retype or re-insert a photo (because I have likely accidentally deleted something). This morning's two posts took me almost an hour to do because of this. Makes me want to stop making tutorials if it's going to be that much of a hassle.

I have my... gosh, I don't know what it's called right now...but the blinking line that shows where your typing will start again. I have that positioned where I would like the photo to go but it still puts it at the top and makes me re-position.

Does anyone have any tips on inserting photos just where I want them the first time or is this how Blogger works?

This might not be the easiest way, but if you are familiar with html, you can force things where you want by dropping your pictures and text into a table.

Or you can add "align" tags to make the pictures go left, right or center.

Susan, this is how I do this:
-I resize all the photos to 800 pixels first, I think it's a good size when readers click on it to enlarge it.
-I upload all the photos first, in reverse order, so the last photo in the post is uploaded first.
-I don't like a lot of white space inbetween the photos, so I click the "edit html" tab and remove all the white space inbetween the photos. Each photo has a code that looks like this:
I delete all the empty space, so the code for the next photo comes right after the previous one.
-Then I start typing my text in "compose" mode. If I can't place the cursor inbetween two photos, I click the HTML tab again, and look for the place I want to type my text, and start writing there.
-If I want a blank line I write
or

for two blank lines
-I like my posts centered, so I highlight everything and click middle icon with the horizontal lines

For tutorials I like to have smaller photos, they are 800 pixels too, but I select "small" when I upload them and "none" instead of right, center, left... I upload 4 photos in one go, that way I can drag and drop the photos, and they can still be enlarged by clicking on them. Here's an example: http://stampingmathilda.blogspot.com...angle-box.html

Difficult for me to explain this technical stuff in English, hope it's clear?

I do currently use the align tags. That parts not the issue. Unfortunately, I don't know enough html to be able to do anything fancy like a table.

Godelieve, I knew you would come through with the definitive answer. You seem to know so much about computers! All that html makes my head spin though . Glad to know that posting photos in reverse order is the best way to do this. I do usually make mine the small photos that can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Another solution would be to use Windows LiveWriter. It's a free program, and is so easy to use! I love it now that I'm using it to do my blog. You'll never have problems with photos again!!

Here's the link: Live Writer

I usually type my post first and then I switch over to HTML, upload my photos and then cut and paste the code to where I want it in the body. ;)
