How about a Sunny Yellow. Or a Spring Green color?

Those are my picks for my stamping room.

Oooh, if I were painting a craft area, I'd find a way to get some Stampin' Up Rose Red in there, because that's my favorite color. Get one of your favorite greens or browns with that, and it would be my idea of a great inspiring area.

I used Almost Amethyst in my craft room. It is a small room, so the color gives the room a nice airy feeling. If it were a bigger space, I would have gone with a Rose Red or Chocolate, but I think that dark of a color would have made the room feel small.

If I can, I think I'd like to paint mine More Mustard. I'd like to go with a deep rich color but I still want it to be warm and cheery. A deep golden color is very cozy to me and I think MM is a very classy shade of gold

Also, I work in the "guest" room and it isn't a room everyone is in all of the time, so I think I can do something fairly dramatic in there. My room is on the SW corner so it's quite bright and sunny. You'll want to consider the light quality of your room.

And a lot of companies now have the little samplers -- if you can find something close enough without having to get an exact match to an SU/cardstock color, you can get a sampler and paint a patch to get a feel for it.

I painted my craft room Tempting Turquise with Chocolate Chip on the trim and the ceiling, I still have to make the curtains which I picked out Pumpkin Pie for the material. My DH was not sure about my color choices at first, but once I had the color on the walls he thought it was great. I used my card stock samples when I went in to get the paint and they were able to find paint chips that matched exactly to what I was looking for. Your room should be in colors that you really like and that will make you happy. Have fun deciding and post pictures when you get it done.

I have to admit that I love yellow! It always feels light and sunny and can mix with so many colors. It is also not trendy like some other colors. I have soft yellow in my craft area and it is my happy place!

Check the gallery here for other crafter's stamp rooms. A lot of people will include the name of the color they painted their walls, too. My room is a lovely peaceful green called Rejuvenate (Behr, Home Depot), with matching curtains from Target.

The colors I choose always depend on the amount of natural light and the size of the room.
Even though I like More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip, unless there is a lot of light, I would feel claustrophobic (sp?).

I like light colors in rooms for creating. I think I would like the Barely Banana. We have a color very similar to Certainly Celery in part of our new office and I really like it on the walls.

You'll have to let us know what colors you choose and share pictures when you're done.

what about using three of your favorite colors, some magnetic paint, and masking off three squares. It would a a great way to display some cards or project ideas

A lady on one of the sites I go into painted her craft room a deep plum with white trim and aqua accents. It was so beautiful. I didn't think I'd like it, but really wish I'd painted mine darker. If you want a sunny yellow, my daughter painted my granddaughters room in "Pooh Yellow" and it's really happy looking. I think I'd do like one of the other ladies suggested. Get a few samples and paint small squares on the walls. We did that in our living room and it really helped narrow down the colors.

I painted mine this green color that I had colored matched to some marbles that my grandmother had. She inspired me so much with crafts, that I kinda feel like she is in there with me. My mother who is very good at decorating would tell us to find the fabric for the curtains etc & then match from that. I sure you will love what ever color you choose and if you don't it is just paint, paint over it.

That's what my new kitchen ended up being! I didn't have SU! Products with me at the time but was aiming for a Tuscan/Italian sort of feel to it ........ ends up being MM when I hold up a cardstock swatch to it now :-D

I think if you are looking to repaint your room, you could also play on the space, lighting ....... and the color of the furniture that will occupy that space. My furniture, for example, is all white so whenever we get around to repainting it, I plan to go for a lighter version of Cool Carribbean color.
Have fun with your room!!

The main thing is using the colors that you like. Also keep in mind that colors can actually encourge different moods. Green overall is a calming and healing color. Red excites. Yellow can cause agitation.

I painted my craft room and kitchen a bright light green. I still like it but if I do wish that I would have went with more of a sage green or certainly celery green.

So Saffron is a soft, muted yellow. That is what I picked for my craft room, and I love it!!! And I am not even a 'yellow' loving person. Maybe that's why I like it so much--it keeps me balanced!

Like some others mentioned, get some sample colors and paint a piece of poster board to hang on your wall. You want to be able to look at it for a while in all kinds of light. Then go with your gut! Good luck with your decision!

I forgot to mention.... remember, if you find two or three colors that you really love together, you can use one as an accent/trim color and another as an accent wall. Sometimes if you paint one wall a deeper color it will add depth to the room. Just an idea!

Another vote here for a golden yellow. I used "golden straw" from Lowe's (I think it's a Valspar/American Traditions color. I was going for a Tuscan feel and it makes the room so cozy, warm and inviting! My craft room is a smaller guest bedroom and I didn't find the deeper color to feel claustrophobic at all.

Go with your gut. I don't feel inspired by cold tones like blues/light purples etc. I crave warm colors and a cozy feel.

Don't fret. If you don't like your first choice--just repaint!

I painted my bedroom and mudroom in a color that is almost identical to Apricot Appeal and it looks amazing on the wall. Since I've put that color up, 3 of my friends have gotten it too. It's by Duron and it's called "highland buff'. You have to check it out... so soft and creamy and it just makes the whole room glow softly. It goes very well with reds, browns, greens, blues or black and white toille (which is what I have in my bedroom).

I also have my living room painted in a "certainly celery" type color which is a Laura Ashley called Olive 3 (found at Lowes). Again, it is a deep creamy color that just transforms a room.

good luck!
