HELP! What to make for a male teacher this year!
My daughter has a male teacher this year and I am at loss for what to make him for any of the holidays and teacher appreciation day. What do you make a male teacher? I am looking forward to your answers.

How about making a homemade gift bag with a coffee mug, borders(any) gift card in a nice card that holds the gift card, and a homemade bookmark!

I'm making at altoid tin holder, using a coffee themed set and putting a coffee gift card inside. I do this for the teachers other than her main one. For him, I will probably do a Border's Gift card, but I don't have any book stamps, so not sure what I will use for that tin!

I am being frugal this year, with both my time and expense. I bought some cute little jars at WalMart that I will decorate and fill with candy. Who doesn't like a little candy? Then they have the jar for other purposes (paperclips etc., more candy..) or they can re-gift it and save themselves the thought and expense of giving somone on their list a cute, small gift.

Over in the gallery this morning are some great ideas. one was a coffee mug filled with hot chocolate packets (could be coffee packets) then wrapped in cellophane and tied with great ribbon and a cute tag. Another is a chocolate bar wrapped in Designer Series Paper with a bow and a poem about Christmas fudge on it! both make great gifts that are thoughtful and don't break the bank!
You could attach easily enough a nice gift card to either of them!
What about movie tickets! always a nice gift and useful too! Maybe with wrapped popcorn pack. I know they won't take the popcorn with them - but it makes for a cute gift! you could make one of those cute wraps for the popcorn and have a flap that held the movie tickets in it!

My dh is a ms teacher. He's gotten a car wash gc, movie baskets (popcorn/soda/candy/Blockbuster card in a gift bag or basket), his favorite sports team items, food, boxes of candy, book store gift cards, coffee mugs filled with candy, gift cards to sandwich stores (like Issacs or Subway) and chocolate covered spoons to stir in coffee.
That's all that I can think of now. He hasn't gotten too many things that were hand made - other than baked goods. Thank you notes would probably be appreciated though to write the holiday thank you cards- especially if he's single. Just as a side note, I'd stay away from mugs. Teachers get sooooooo many of them that most can't use all of the ones they get. We have a whole cabinet full of mugs, have given them to any family member who could use them and now donate them to the Goodwill since we have no more room for them.

The acrylic picture frame/post-it note holders are always cheap and nice. You knw the kind of frame I mean, where they stand up by themselves and you slide a picture in? We did those one year using a masculine set (I think it was a snowboarder). All that was done was to stamp the scene on cardstock, slide it into the frame, and glue on a small (1x2 or so) post-it pad to the outside. If you want to get fancy, cover a pen with matching paper and make it a set. Very inexpensive.

How about a batch of homemade cookies.....
A coffee mug with a packett of Hot cocoa..
Bookmarks..
Note cards..
Gift card...for Coffee or Donuts...
of course all of this accomp. by stamping cards etc.....

I made this chipboard coaster calendar for my brother for his birthday. You can choose "masculine" or gender-neutral decorative papers, stamps and embellishments to decorate the coasters.

Food, food, and more food!
Hi all,
My DH is a teacher and he loves to get food from his students. A loaf of pumpkin or banana bread wrapped in clear plastic wrap with a cardstock "belly band" and attached stamped tag would be a wonderful treat for a male teacher. He also loves gift cards to the bookstore, movie theater, or restaurants, if you are looking to treat your child's teacher this year. I have put a giftcard and some wrapped candies in a clear cello bag and stamped a topper for our kids' teachers in years past. Also, a tile coaster is a nice gift for a male teacher, perhaps give this packaged up with some hot cocoa mixes.
