I just got back from Costco (Westlake Village, CA) and they have packs of Inkadinkado clear stamp sets. I haven't used clear stamps before but this seems like a really good deal. They have a Holiday Seasons set, an Occasions set and I can't remember what the third one was. The package has 5 sheets of clear stamps, a clear block and a black ink dot pad. It was only $19.99! I got the Holiday one and might go back for the other two if I like the clear stamp thing.
Does anyone know if they have them in the Canadian Costco's, in particular Regina Sask.? I am going to Regina the weekend of the 25 and can make a detour trip to Costco's if I have to.
I was just at Costco in the Marina, not too terribly far from Westlake Village and there wasn't a single craft item save for the Crayola stuff. They used to carry more scrapbooking and crafty stuff, but we always get the shaft on the west side of L.A. I wish I lived in the suburbs.
for those of you having a hard time FINDING them.. we have 2 different Costco's here, and they were in a different spot in each store.. and BOTH were hidden. the first was on an end cap by the Office supplies and buried behind a rolling cart full of Mums.
the second was on the floor in the center of the store kinda where they display the books/DVDs, clothes and seasonal stuff. In fact, I must admit that both times, my DH found them as I walked right by them. I got the holiday and the all occasion set.
One more location to check: mine had them displayed about two aisles away from office supplies in home decor (potted plants, etc.) with some picture frames.
Just an update... I have loved the stamps. I am so happy that I have branched out into the world of clear stamps. As for Costco having them or not, you could always call them and ask if they have item #315535 in stock. That item number applies to all three sets. Good luck!
If anyone wants them and can't get them at their Costco or doesn't live near a Costco, I would be willing to buy them for you and ship them out. I would want to take them out of their big box so they fit in a smaller box to ship. If you pay the shipping, I will send them to you. Last week when I was at our local (Issaquah) store, they still had all 3 sets.
I got the sets they released last year.. They are probably the worst stamps I have ever used, and NEVER use them... The photo-polymer is low quality, the stamps are all stuck together and rip, and i just don't like them... so if you're a quality-control freak like me, you won't like them... my two cents..

Wow! That's disappointing to hear. I just bought the Holiday set. I had bought a Christmas set at Michaels a month or so ago from Inkadinkado and they are FABULOUS!
I'll have to ink up my new sets and try them. Thanks for the heads-up.
I used a bunch of them this weekend to make up a quick 6x6 scrapbook for my mom's co-workers as a sample and every stamp worked just fine. I didn't see any difference in the quality between the Costco sets and the regular Inkadinkado sets I've purchased at Michael's. The Costco sets have many of the same images, only about 10% or so smaller.
Oh, I found mine in the office supply aisle among the printer paper and packaging tape. They also had a scrapbook package there.
what type of ink is best to use? I always have a hard time stamping a clear image when I use clear stamps. I have much better luck with rubber stamps.
I've used regular SU! Classic Ink, Staz-On and Craft Ink and they all work fine with clear stamps. I think the secret is having a light touch...don't squish the stamp down or the image will squish too. Also, prep the stamp first by cleaning it a few times and taking a rubber eraser to large flat areas to help the ink "adhere". I do this with all my new stamps.
wow, that's a great deal.. I got one sheet - the fall one for $8.99 and thought that was a good price :(
I wonder if they have them in Canadian Costo's too... anybody from Canada seen them in Costco?

I personally find I like the results I get with chalk or pigment inks, as opposed to dye.
Some dye inks do work great on clear stamps tho--Ranger Adirondack is a good dye ink to try with clears, and I sometimes use Memento by Tsukineko, too.

I got mine about two weeks ago and love them. My mom & I both used the snot out of quite a few of them and no problems when using chalk or pigment ink.
If you get all three sets, there are two duplicates--I remember one is a bird, but I can't remember the other one. So you only get 382 stamps for $60 instead of 384. Haha.
Inkadinkado has a really nice customer service... I had a set (one of the older ones) that was almost impossible to peel of the backing sheet and I ripped some stamps trying. So I sent them an email, they replied very fast and sent me a new set free of charge (just wanted the bar code number of the faulty set). And the new set is working just fine. I got some new fall sets from them and they are working perfectly too.

To the ladies in/near Spokane---could you please tell me which store you purchased them?
Sarah, I've gotten my individual sets at the Valley Michael's store. I have seen the large sets at the Valley Costco as well, although that was a few weeks ago. Are you near Spokane?
