But, if you are looking for the best acrylic block, I have to say CTMH makes the best one. It is 3/4" thick and has the same grooves as a wooden block. It feel so good on the hands. They also have a laser line at the edge for you to line up images if necessary.
must say I agree, CTMH has the best blocks IMO. I may be a bit biased as I am a consultant but still LOVE them.

Well, I used to think CTMH blocks were the best. I sold all of mine once I got Unity handles. I purchased these handles/blocks BEFORE I became a designer for them. They are AMAZING!! I love the wood handles with the acrylic in the middle. They are the best there is IMO! You can find them here. On page two you have the option to buy them as a set.

I love the Inkadinkado blocks. They have a grid etched in them, are very thick (so you don't have any block bending) and a wavy edge for easy gripping.
I tried CTMH blocks...they're ok, but not my favorite. There's only a single line on them (not a grid) and it is very faint.....hard to see if you don't have excellent lighting. They do feel very nice to handle, tho!
My favorite block to date is one I got on clearance at Wal-Mart a couple years ago. It is nice and thick and has a wavy edge that makes it great to hold. I don't know who it's made by though, and have never seen another one so that's not much help.
I just recently ordered the Unity blocks....can't wait to get them, as they look really interesting.

I like the inkadinkado ones two. the grid makes it super easy to position and the wavy bits are comfy. I got mine at either AC Moore or Michaels.. I hit both stores that day...

Sounds like the Inka blocks I was talking about in my post above! Does it look like this?
I vote for CTMH. They are comfortable and have a nice solid, high quality feel to them. The blocks do not have grid lines on them, but CTMH has a set of Block Buddies (I think they are called that), which are gridlines you place on your blocks (it appears to be like a peel-and-stick type of product).
I love my CTMH blocks, too. Another good option are these rounded ones that I got from MFT. If you like to use your stampamajig (and I still do with my clear stamps, much of the time, for precision's sake), though, the squared off edges work much better. HTH!
Another vote for CTMH blocks...absolutely the best in my opinion. I do have a couple of ones with wavy edges...and a couple with gridlines...and a set of cubes...as well. The cubes are great for smaller stamps down to really tiny.
You should totally check out Unity Stamp company's blocks!! They have the ease of clear acrylic, but the "feel" of wood. Look here: http://www.unitystampco.com/mounting_system
They are made for their wood casette stamps AND for any cling stamps (clear rubber, red rubber, etc.) I have a bag of acrylic blocks that I have bought over the past year, but now that I have these I don't use any of them. I use strickly my Unity blocks. Love them!!

Another vote for Unity! They are the reason that I finally decided to go unmounted. It is the best of both worlds, I love wood mounted so the wood on the sides and clear in the middle is a great blend.
I have three different kinds. Three Inkadinkado that I love. Several CTMH that I also love. And one Stampabilities that's just ok. It's too flat, but I love the grid lines on it.
I'd recommend either the Inkadinkado or the CTMH as my faves!

I like these blocks, too. Just ordered more. I like teh side grooves and the grid. I have some 1" ones that were $1 from Michael's that are fine for small stamps. I haven't tried the others mentioned.
I have the grid lined rounds one and they are super to work with! They alwasy fit my hands and no stress points on the fingiers from trying to hold them!

I actually got a really nice set of them by Fiskar's at Jo-Ann's of all places. And you can't beat the price if you have a coupon. The set was 4 or 5 different sizes and they are great blocks. My girlfriend sent me a super one that she got at Hobby Lobby (I think). It is nice to have several different sizes, but the gridlines are a must!
Well I was suprised to hear someone write "bending" - I was taught to push down in the middle of a stamp, never just applying pressure on the edges. I was made an example of twice in a class - not happy with that lady - cause she had a pet peeve about stamping the "correct way".
Anyway, I saw a grid set at JoAnn's today, don't know the manufacturer and didn't look at the price, sorry.

I was very interested when I saw this thread....I can only say I bought some CHEAP ones on ebay and they are awful...not thick enough, too rough on the sides and very uncomfortable to use. I am interested to see how Unity's are IRL. I used a CMTH block at a fair but don't remember if I liked it or not! Honestly, I didn't want to spend alot on blocks but I seem to use my unmounted stamps 90% of the time now so I think I'll have to invest in good ones...
Call me crazy but my favorite ones are from TAC. I like them because they have a nice beveled edge on one side, that is the side I stick my stamp on. I have 6 or 7 different sizes. I have one of the Inkadinkadoo ones but I hate that curvy edge, I can't seem to get a good grip on it. I picked up one of those $1 ones from M's but I hated it and that one went into the trash. It was way too thin and flat.
Where can I get a good set of acrylic blocks?
