Default Indianapolis area Stampers & Scrappers

Is anyone going to (or has been) to the Scrapp-a-Latte Show at the Indianapolis Fairgrounds this weekend? I was going to go with some friends, but they cancelled on me. I'm not looking to hitch a ride, I just wanted to know whether it would be worth my time to attend by myself. Now, it would be worth it to me if I just got one deal. So, if anyone has attended, could you let me know? Thanks girls, I really appreciate it!

I have never been to this show - I was gonna go - but now have to go up to South Bend for the weekend to visit family. Have fun if you decide to go - you'll have to let us know how the show is!

I'm here in Indy and I was wondering the same thing. Parking is $3 and then another $5 to get in, so there's $8 down the drain just to spend more money!! I probably won't go unless I see rave reviews about it on this thread. I'll probably go the Covered Bridge festival instead!

I need more info, too! It sounds like fun, though. FYI, there's a big crafters garage sale in November at the Hamilton County 4-H fairgrounds. I think it's sponsored by Scrapbook Corners in Noblesville.

Default DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER BUT...

Ok, I have it on good authority (although there have been no formal announcements) that SCrapbook Corner is closing December 1st. I heard that from a very reliable source, but I haven't heard it directly from anyone at the store.
So, if anyone makes it to the show, please report back today. I will probably end up going...the curiosity will kill me!

If this is the same show from last year (and I just don't remember the name of it), it ended up being kind of disappointing. Mostly a lot of overpriced kits with old stuff. Does these sound familiar to anyone else?

I went to the Heirloom show in Indy and liked it quite a bit though!

Hi,
I' m here in Indy from NW Indiana and have just returned from the Save A Latte Outlet. Yes, you are right. Lots of scrapbook page kits from $10.00 -$15.00 each. I'm not into page kits but I'm not opposed to borrowing ideas for my own page. There was a SU demonstrator there selling retired kits. I bought 10 kits for $89.00. I bought from another booth some paper that appeared to be croco-embossed and I thought I would use that paper to cover some notebooks for Christmas gifts.

Hubby came along. Incidentally we are celebrating 32 years of marriage and are going to Ft. Wayne tomorrow. He won a door prize today. An 8x8 acrylic album with jump rings. He gave it to me.

I haven't heard about this show!

I have been fearful that Scrapbook Corner would go out of business. I just got an email from them saying it was the owner's 40th birthday. I hope they stay in business because I love their paper selection.

I think my SU demo does the garage sale at the 4-H Fairgrounds every year.

I am surprised at how many of us live around Indy! Maybe we should have an Indy get together or shopping excursion. Do any of you ever go to classes at Archivers in Castleton?

I live in the Indy area too and know nothing of the show this weekend. I wish Scrapbook Corner would not go out of business but when Memoirs closed, they said that they found people go to the specialty store/LSS for information and then do their shopping at Michaels or Joanns with their coupons. As much as I loved the people at Memoirs, their classes were never quite what I wanted.

When Archivers came to town, it had to make it harder on the independent stores.

Not going to be able to make either one. Just no disposable cash. :( I wanted to go to Ft. Wayne but just ain't going to happen. Oh well, I need to start saving for the show in March here in Indy. Maybe a bunch of us could get together there.

Would like to know more about the 4-H sale.

I've been to the Noblesville store a couple of times but haven't been in about a year. Living in Greenwood, I usually go to the Archiver's on Southport.

To those that are going, have a good time.

Ohhh nooooo. . . I love Scrapbook Corner. Guess I better spend my gift card soon. This is my last close LSS. Last year, I was invited to their VIP customer appreciation event for their top 200 customers.

Default Well, I went

Well girls, the curiosity and the fear of missing a deal just were too much for mr to handle, so I sucked it up and went! I am glad that I did, but it would have been ok if I would have missed it, too. I got a few deals and that's really all that I was looking for. There were two booths that were really having sales, and the rest were just so-so. I hope that those of you who went to Ft. Wayne had a great time, too. I have never heard of that show, so I'm ging to investigate it and maybe check it out next year. Thanks for the help!

The Fort Wayne show is the same one that's held in Indy, usually the first week-end in March. I haven't seen the schedule for next year so don't quote me on the date but it's well worth your time! It's held at the State Fairgrounds. Just trying to enable someone else to overspend their budget like I do every year!!

Missy...I am from Teeny-TinyVille in Indiana although I live in New Jersey now. Which wide place in the road is your Teeny-TinyVille? Mine is Waynetown...near Crawfordsville. One stop light, gas station & grocery store.

Dang! If Scrapbook Corner closes, I'll be bummed! I find that Michael's and Joann's just don't have the unique paper lines and products I'm looking for, like Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket, etc.

If this economy bounces back, maybe I'll have to open up my own shop!

Here's the link for the show in Indy (same one that's in Ft. Wayne this weekend):

Looks like the 7 & 8 of March. Better start saving my pennies.

The last time I was at Scrapbook Corner, I walked out with the feeling that they might be closing. It's too bad, I have a feeling that the competition from Archivers may have put them over the edge.

I was in Indy this weekend to go to a crop with my mom at Cord. If I'd had known about the show we might have had to stop by. Oh, well.

Just refreshing this post to let all of you Indy ladies know that Scrapbook Corners is, indeed, closing. :( boo hoo! Everything in the store is at 25% discount right now, but I'm sure those discounts will keep coming until they're gone.

My new papercrafting store will be opening in a quaint downtown Noblesville location in the spring. (okay, I'm only joking, but I really wish I could!)
