A friend (who has never made cards before) and I are going to a crop tonight. I told her to buy a paper trimmer and some adhesive.... I plan on making a little "welcome" kit for her of my extras.... now what do you think I should include?

Since I make my own stamp cleaner, I would give her a bottle of cleaner and a painter's pad for cleaning her stamps. If you use baby wipes, maybe put a few in a stamp clam shell box to get her started? Gotta get that good black ink off, lol! If you don't have an extra black ink pad, then maybe you could stamp some images to give her.
I love the idea of the stamp cleaner. Good scissors definitely are a must have, and I love ribbon, even on a simple card, I think it makes it pop! So my addition would be ribbon.
You know earlier in the message thread I sugguested a card kit.
But that wouldn't work.
Why not let them use some of your supplies, To see if she likes Card making or Scrapping. This way she wouldn't be out of bunch of money if she didn't like it.
I've done this at a Crop that I go too. And it has helped the person decide if they like it well enough to buy their own supplies.
In fact when I go to Crops. I take all my stamping stuff with me. As I do not Scrapbook.
Well she LOVED it! I took a lot of my scraps and made them to a little bundle, picked out some cardstock, a good black inkpad and some $1 stamps (and one of the dollar acrylic blocks!!). She used some of my stamps (I also threw in some "extra" embellies I had) and I showed her how to put embellies on and she had a grand ole time
Thanks for the pdf. Wow...great advice. I especially like the part about picking pictures that speak to you. I am soooo tired on 'sitting and spinning' with ones that don't. Thanks, again!

Make sure to tell her about SCS! I am not very creative, but I can always get good ideas from here when I am stuck. Also, if she is thinking about a certain stamp set, she can see examples on here to help her decide. All the advice is wonderful.
