LOL, I am considering making it private if it's possible...because I plan to do a lot of case-ing and I would be a little embarrassed if all everyone saw were cased cards in my gallery. Silly?

Gosh, if I didn't post cards that I made that had some part of them cased, I wouldn't have much in my gallery. Don't be embarrassed by that. It's part of the reason we all have galleries here on SCS - to get inspiration and use that on our own creations. Just make sure to mention where you got the idea or link to the project that you cased to give credit. The person you cased shouldn't be upset. They should be flattered that you found inspiration in what they did.

do NOT go to my gallery then... LOL
i also do a fair bit of CASEing!
not at all!
i've been to your gallery, and you have some very nice stuff in there!
Oh Hon... CASE away and don't be embarrassed!!! As long as you give credit to the creator... or at least say it was CASED... there is no problem with posting them in your gallery...
Hey... when I first started... I CASED everything!

Definitely no need to be embarrased, just try to give credit to the person you cased from, then there is no problem at all! Its funny, even when I try to case a card, it is always different in some way ... sometimes a lot different, sometimes just a little different ...
I do a ton of CASEing, too. I often don't see an original project when it's originally posted, it's usually the CASEd one I see first. If links are provided, I go and see the original work. I love seeing CASEd work because that really inspires me to take an original and tweak it just a little to make it mine. I like seeing people's take on other's work. It's a little peek into their creative heart.
well ... I guess you have two options. Keep your gallery here public while giving credit to the one you cased. OR, don't have a gallery here. I guess I don't see the point of having a gallery if it's going to be for your eyes only. You could, however, make your blog open for invited readers only and that would be private!
BUT, I really really don't think you need to have a private gallery. The whole point of SCS is to share and CASE. There are so many beautiful creations here that just NEED to be cased!
Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I feel better about it now Perhaps over time I will start self inspiring...

i know just how you feel. i case a lot, and typically won't post those to my gallery. i figure everyone's already seen the original! but, i'm considering posting them to a seperate album in my gallery and not linking it to the stamp company directory... that way, i have a record of things i've made but not boring everyone with my repeats... i haven't done it yet, but was considering it, so thought i'd share it with you.
I used to only CASE. After about a year or so, I started doing the challenges posted on the SCS homepage. They are a super place to go if you want to start your own creations, because they give you a starting base for your cards...either color combo, layout, materials, etc. You should check it out.
As far as casing people, there have been a few times where people have cased my card and then given me credit...IT MAKES MY DAY. Seriously though, when you case someones card and then put their name in your write up, it will show up in their gallery too, so they can see that you gave them credit. In my mind, no greater honor for me here on SCS.
CASE AWAY!

while I agree that CASEd cards are fine to have in the gallery, I wanted to address the quote above.
I share my gallery link with family and friends who are not part of SCS, so even if it were private it wouldn't necessarily be just for the owner of the gallery

Paper Kissy I hope you don't make your gallery private. I just went there and really enjoy looking at your cards!I especially loved your cards title Bluebird for my MIL and Inspired by Nature. I believe being cased is a very high compliment.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I feel better about it now Perhaps over time I will start self inspiring...

Why don't you try changing something small about the card, like doing the same thing but with different colors -- or change the stamp set and the embellishments. Eventually you'll get more comfortable with doing your own thing! Even stamping royalty like JulieHRR and Beate were beginners at one time, and probably did a lot of CASEing in those early days! ;)

I believe that imitation is the best form of flattery, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that. I've not *met* anyone on her who does not appreciate having their card cased so long as the CASE is properly credited. I know that having one of my cards cased makes my day!

Do you know if there's a 12-step program for stamping? No, seriously, is there??
And (haven't checked out your gallery yet) a lot of times you can follow the bread crumbs from post to gallery to gallery to blog to who knows where. If the original card links back to the case, and that person has cased somebody else and then there are details on her blog, that it was actually a sketch challenge inspired by a new stamp release, and, Your gallery, if nothing else , shows you got off the computer and STAMPED!!
That's a great question!
But, SCS is a 'public' forum. This means that if you choose to upload your projects to our galleries, the projects are visible to 'everyone'.
To many of us, this is the beauty of SCS. We are a community of "sharing". ;)
......... Your gallery, if nothing else , shows you got off the computer and STAMPED!!
So good job!!

I should do that more often... Duh!
You can make an album within your gallery private. Go to the gallery, click on Mystuff: Albums. Then click on Create New Album. Then on 'Is Album private?' select yes.
I agree with the others here. Go ahead and cASE. Post your creations with the caveat that they are CASEd.
But, if you really want to keep everything private, use one of the websites that help you create a photo album.... Fickr and Snapfish are two that come to mind. Most of those sites allow you to create private albums
