I tried to convince my husband that it was a gift worthy holiday! I don't think he fell for it though. He did go to Mikes with me yesterday and stood there patiently while I picked out new Prismas.
My dh and youngest ds are off to a cub scout camping trip, so did not even bother mentioning it to him. DD is off to a friends and I'm sure oldest ds will be on the Wii all day, so I can actually stamp and not worry about anyone else or feel guilty about stamping all day.

He rolled his eyes AND laughed. Some support, huh? So, I figure maybe I just won't feel like making dinner tonight.

I told hubby this and he didn't believe me until I showed him the ads and threads about it. I told him with an event as important as World Card Making Day, it really should be a holiday and he should take the day off from work and stamp with me. With that he turned and left for work.
My husband said in his best sarcastic girl voice "Oh my G A W D!!!! Happy world cardmaking daaaay! Congratulations on your ability to make cute CARRRRDS!! So GREEEAAATTT."
This thread is too hysterical -- I don't know what my DH would say. He is working so no difference to him!! My 7-year-old daughter is asking me to come play and I told her, "You know, it's World Cardmaking Day and some moms are just telling their families that they are going to stamp all day and to leave them alone ~~ I just need a few minutes here to "catch up" on what's going on... okay?" She then rolled her eyes and gave me a reluctant... "okay... just a few minutes then." What can I do?! Later she'll need a TV break .
P.S. Did you all see Gina K.'s WCMD event? The biggest reason I'm excited to make cards today ~ what a fabulous idea!! Go see her blog ~ there's a link in the member company forums.
I just told him today was World Cardmaking day. He chuckled and said, "so what do we do for world cardmaking day - oh oh the Peugeot passed the Porsche. Needless to say he's watching the Petite LeMans on his computer. So I'll just continue reading the forums. Have a great card making day everyone!
My dh came home from errands and told me about a sign for a local rubber stamp sale. Then he put ds down for his nap so I could go. How sweet! (Turned out they were selling used SU stamps and I got 4 sets. Woo hoo!)
Yep, mine rolled his eyes too...BUT when I mentioned that I was going to a scrapbook/stamp consignment sale he gave me a handful of cash & said to call him if it wasn't enough! and that's why I keep him! ;-)
OMG, my husband is so funny! He said "Oh yeah?! Congratuatulations! And here we are at home - how come we aren't out celebrating?!!" and gave me a big wink, lol. :-D
Actually, I think he already knew since I've been a scrapbooker for so many years - he's probably heard me mention it before but if he had to bet a million on WHEN the day was - forgetabout it! ROFL!!!!!!!
He's a gem - just love him
My dh says "You've got to be kidding, right?". I told him no, I am not and I will be going to my local stamp store to make some cards. He couldn't believe it. My older son and I went and made some cards and we met some nice people while doing that. I would show you the 4 cards we made, but I am on my laptop due to my other computer being at the computer doctor store:(

My husband found out because I was having a class today. He's cute and has been asking to see what I've made lately, especially if it's a scrapbook page.

My DH is so sweet -- there was a faculty picnic this afternoon and I knew it was important to him so I went, then he said, "Thank you so much for going to the picnic with me on World Cardmaking Day!"
