... to your nearest Dollar Tree. I found this glue called OneSTik by DAP that seems exactly like the Tombow Mono Multi glue I love so much. It reads pretty much the same and looks the same too (it's latex based). It's the same color bottle and it's permanent or repositionable. It has two applicators and it's acid free. Not sure if it's lignen (sp?) free or not so I won't claim that you can use it on scrapbook pages though. So run to your Dollar Tree and pick up your glue for $1!!!
The link is the product, however, the permanent or repositionable is in green (just like the Mono Multi). The blue is the permanent only. If you use just a smidge like w/ other glues the paper doesn't wrinkle not one little bit. I found it over by the tool stuff. I may run over there again today (I only bought 2 in case it wasn't good) and I need a few other lil goodies. I'll let you all know for sure what aisle it's in
One of the gals who works at the store told me they will be phasing out their scrapbook stuff, Miss Elizabeth, as it is not a money-maker for them.
Eek! All of their scrapbooking stuff, or just the Miss Elizabeth brand? Either way it is disappointing, but I hope they dont get rid of everything!
Thanks for this post! I love the tombo glue and this will save me some money! (Well...maybe...I will probably buy too much stuff if I let myself go to the dollar tree, lol!)
Thanks so much for the link. That's it!!! I can't remember if they have the blue bottle or not. I'll jet over there in a lil bit and I'll let you all know.
Hey ladies!!!! I went back to the store and found that they do have the blue bottle of permanent adhesive as well. AND... it's twice as big (1.7 oz)!!!!! I think I have enough glue for a few years now (each bottle seems to last pretty long). So go get some before they sell out. They're in the aisle w/ the manly things (tools etc.).
I got a ton of this at different Lowe's stores a few months ago. They were clearancing it out for like .65 a bottle. AWESOME DEAL! I love the tombo/dap and it goes a lot farther than tape runners.
Sweet! I am addicted to the Tombo stuff but usually get it at LH with a 40% off coupon but this is even cheaper! Woo hoo! Thanks for sharing...now off to my Dollar Tree...

For those in Pittsburgh, PA - I went to the Dollar Tree in Robinson (in the same plaza as JoAnn's) and got a bunch - they had quite a bit of both the blue and green one!
I checked out Dollar Tree 2 times and they didn't have it. Then, yesterday I was in Dollar Daze and they had it in with the manly things. Thanks for the tip, I never would have found it without the heads up.

I'm so sad. I could only find the blue package at my $$ Tree -- and I have looked at 5 different stores! Even the blue glue was at only one of those (the largest).:-(
Found it in MD at the Crofton Dollar Tree!!! I bought a bunch and now I feel like I'm well stocked up. I have to say that I've been trying it and it performs EXACTLY like Mono Multi!
WoooooHooooo! Thanks for the tip!
thank ya'll for suggesting this stuff. I'm totally lovin' it. At first I wasn't thrilled with it, and was gonna ask somene to "talk me up" on it, but now, after making all the treat bags for ds's class for halloween, da da da da da, I'm loving it. (in the mcdonald's tune, LOL)
Thanks for the tip! I'll stop by this weekend and see if my Dollar Tree has any. I was searching on google, just to see if you can buy it anywhere else for the same price, and AddictedtoCrafts.com, is selling it for $5.79 a each!
Well, thanks to you enablers, I finally found this glue and the Miss Elizabeth dimensionals today. I don't even use Mono, but after reading this thread, felt the need to go find it. I have a question though - I bought the green bottle and the blue bottle. I thought the blue bottle of permanent would be better than repositionable, but am I wrong? Why does everyone like the repositionable kind better?
The Dollar Tree in Rockledge (along US 1) has both types of glue! Plus they had some cute stamps that are on round knobs; I got a butterfly and a birthday cupcake. The check out clerk told me she saw similar stamps at Michaels for $4.
the dual is not repositionable unless you put the glue on it and leave it to dry BEFORE putting it on something. Then it's kinda like a post it.
IF you put the glue between two pieces of something, in the words of my 8 year old, "you ain't gonna get that thing off". It's permanent when dries between two subjects.
Don't ask my how, I don't know, but I like it. :-)
I didn't find it at our dollar tree, but I did find it at one of our other locally owned dollar stores. I used it to cover coasters with paper (for clippy boards) - put a little on, and then used a foam brush to spread it out thin. It worked great. I'm gonna try using it on composition books next. It's fabulous stuff. Thanks for the heads up!
