Hi there, maybe this has been listed before.
I just clicked this before I did a search.

If you are so moved, list for all of us what you found sold at
craft sales.

Should I make cards, or should I set up just an SU table?
It's just a in home private craft sale. I was invited to bring things.

Any heads up for me?

My best sellers:

Cards @ $2 each or 6/$10 - All occasion and thank you sold the best!

Lemonade gift @ $1.50 - barely banana folded like a matchstick cover or a pack of koolaid lemonade. The front cover had a lemon stamped on it and the words "if life gives you lemons..." from country comfort - Sold ALOT of these.

Christams Fudge gift @ $2.00 - this was in papercraft magazine and also posted on this site, a funny poem about having no time at christmas which you tie to a candy bar (your "homemade" christmas fudge!) I sold out of these.

My best seller was the milk carton boxes filled with Christmas chocolates. I sold them for $2.50. Sold a few card packs but not many.

I didn't sell a single candle or ornament.

I sell my cards in packs of 4. For those of you that sell cards singly does that seem to work better for you and why?

My best sellers were:
legal pads with magnets on back. Sold for $1.50 and the acrylic frames with post-a-note. 3 X 5 $3.00. Didn't try cards. But did stamp my Christmas cards in between customers. Had a lady see me doing this, like the set and placed an order for the set. I gave her a card. Now I have a new customer.

You girls are fab!!! I forget that I love those little legal pads with magnet, so why shouldn't other people!

I have that papercrafts mag, so I'm off to find that candy bar fudge!@!! LOL!!

I could wipe up a bunch of the milk cartons, and what a easy, cute gift item.

I was thinking of bringing my overstock of cards - so I like the suggestion of packaging them in 4's or 6's in the all occassion and thank you groups.

Can someone also explain the milk carton boxes. Do you actually use an old milk carton box and, if so. where do you find them. Do they even make them anymore? Also, legal pads with magnets? what/where do you stamp on them.

I need to go do a few searches in the gallery!

I forgot to add-

I jut did a SU! table at 2 different fairs, one for crafters, one for home based businesses. Got a few orders, but mainly lots of contacts! Found a few more regulars for Stamp Camps and booked a couple of parties.

I figure no one would calll me to ask about SU! if they've never even heard of the company!

Still to early to tell if the parites will cover the cost of my table fees and Show on the Go Kit, but definitely very thrilled to make new contacts (we're military and fairly new to the area and after Hurricane Ivan blew through here a while back, lost a few stampers who are temporarily misplaced from their homes!)

I just did a craft fair this past weekend and the best sellers were micro-beaded pens ($1.50), marble magnets (.50) and decorate pillow boxes ($1.50) made up and ready for gift to be put in them. I cheated on these, though. CTMH has them in packages of 10 for $4 (I think) so I bought those instead of making them myself and decorated them with a jumbo wheel, ribbon and tag. We also sold candy cane seeds for $1.00.

I thought my coasters would go over real well but no such luck, plus my tile magnets. People seemed to like the acrylic frame post it note holder but no one bought them. Thankfully, I didn't over make anything so I wasn't left with too many extras, except my tile magnets and coasters. But I can give those out as door prizes or Christmas gifts.

I just finished a mini craft fair at my office this afternoon and I did better than I thought. I had coasters - 4/$15, gift tags - 10/$2, cards - $2 each or 6/$10, ornaments - $1.50/$2.50 and gift card holders - $2. The only thing I didn't really sell much of was the ornaments. I was kind of surprised.

We had the same little fair last year, and I only sold a couple of cards. I'm much happier with the results this year!

Thanks to you ladies with the great ideas, I was making ornaments and coaster sets like crazy. Now I have gifts to give my friends at Xmas!

I sold out of my tile/coasters in under 2 hours this weekend, at my local craft fair! Sold about half the cards I brought too...sold almost $300 in total, with the table rental costing $25.

My top sellers were coasters 4 for $15. They sold like hot cakes and I took orders. 2 x 2 tile decorations sold out also!

I find it interesting what sells great at one craft fair, does not at another.

I sold none of my items with candies in them...luckily they are easy to give away as gifts!

My best sellers were:

All occasion cards (sold for $2.50ea or 5 for $10- most people bought 5)
they were attracted to the wanda sets & cute "just a note" things like that- I would call them "girlfriend cards" and a lot a baby cards went but maybe it was just the crowd that day.

Magnetic post-it note holders (had a variety)

Cork board things (had a variety)

small tea bag holders- just a little folder type of thing that had the saying

had a bunch of candles- everyone looked at them but did not buy, they were attractiviely wrapped in cello but the ladies were smelling them first & I didn't buy scented because I wanted to keep cost down, I don't think I sold any candles!

I did 3 themes for my tiles/coasters: Angel (from "On Angel Wings" & "French Script"), vintage Coffee ("Parisian Plaza") and contemporary Coffee ("Espress Yourself"). Need to make more for my next sale!! LOL!

And regarding cards, I also had prepackaged sets and didn't sell any of those. I sold tons of "ala carte" cards, where they could just flip through and pick out there own.

Im so excited to read this post. I am participating in a craft fair this Sunday. Its a lot of work and preparation so I hope its worth it

I have over 300 single all occasion cards priced at $2.50ec or buy 4 get one free.

I have "color it" and "paint it" sets using "crayon christmas" soooo cute - I cased that idea...selling them for $5ea. I think they will do well.

I have stamped candles and from ehat I hear from previous posts these may not do too good? :oops: tehy were alot of work too I made matching gift bags and tissue paper....we shall see.

You get the tiles at Lowes or Home Depot. They are called tumbled tiles or Riata.

Here's directions I found posted here on SCS awhile ago:

I have received a bunch of emails for directions for this cute box since uploading one with All the Best in the gallery.

These directions are more detailed for those of you who emailed me saying you were box-challenged!

1. Cut a sheet of cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".

2. Stamp sheet as desired.

3. Insert scoring blade on paper cutter. Score at 2", 4", 6" and 8" along the 8 1/2" length side of cardstock piece. You will have a 1/2" section left over.

4. Turn cardstock piece 90 degrees, and score entire length of cardstock at the 2" mark. (Your scoring blade will travel 8-1/2" down. The 5 1/2" side of cardstock piece will be against the bottom lip of your paper cutter).

5. Look at your scored cardstock piece. Take scissors and trim off the 2" x 1/2" section (not the 3 1/2" x 1/2" section). *Note: The 3 1/2" x 2" sections are the box top and the 2" x 2" sections are the box bottom.

6. Cut each 2" score mark along the 8 1/2" side. (You will be making three straight cuts, each along the 2" score marks). Do not cut beyond the long score mark running the length of the 8 1/2" side.

7. Fold along all score marks.

8. Place a section of sticky strip tape along the 3 1/2" x 1/2" flap on the decorated/stamped side. Seal the top part of the box closed.

9. Fold up the four 2" x 2" pieces; this is the bottom of your box. Use a sticky strip on the last 2" x 2" piece to seal the bottom of the box.

10. You will be forming the top of the box similar to a milk carton: Look at your box and find the side that looks best for your front. This front section and the back section of your box will remain flat. You will be 'denting' in the two SIDES of the box until you can pinch the top of the box flat.

11. I notched my sides with a rectangle hand-held punch and tied closed with a length of earth elements fiber.


I sincerely hope these help as this is a great little box. I will be doing these for my September workshops for sure.

If these directions do not make sense, keep in mind I am math challenged, left-handed, and often write backward!

Here's the summary of what I had to sell and prices and what sold. Most of the individual cards were thank you and birthday. I would have sold more baby cards if I had made more--all of those sold--but again, maybe it was the crowd. I made $367 and paid $50 for the entry fee.

205 Individual Cards at $2 each—sold 41 = $82
16 sets of 4 tiles at $15 a set—sold 7 = $135
32 sets Christmas Color Me Notes (5 cards with crayons) at $5 a set—sold 5 = $25
10 sets of Christmas Paint Me Notes (5 cards with a paint set) at $5 a set—sold 4 = $20
19 sets of Every Day Color Me Notes (5 cards with crayons) at $5 a set—sold 3 = $15
29 sets of 4 Christmas Cards at $6 a set—sold 5 = $30
30 sets of 4 other occasion cards at $6 a set—sold 4 = $24
25 sets of 8 monogrammed cards at $12 a set—sold 0 = $0
26 packages of 10 Christmas tags at $3—sold 6 = $18
18 packages of Snowman Soup at $1—sold 18 = $18

Last Friday I did an in house Holiday Open House - now mind you, we also had our first snow storm of the season which the weathermen made out to be WAY worse than it was and attendance was low....
Having said that I did make over $100. for a couple of hours show time. My biggest selling cards were birthday and notecards. I sold cards at 2.50ea or 6/12.00 The sets that sold were general notecard sets. I also sold a couple of sets to people who had 4 cards and for two dollars more could get a set of six.
I also did really well on tags. They were very simple tags, very minimal decoration, and lots of white space for writing. They were .45 ea or 6/2.50. I sold a lot of sets on those. My card sets were prepackaged but the tags were not so they could pick out which 6 they wanted. The holiday items sold the least.
Gift bags also sold but again it was the general ones and not specifically the holiday ones. (And I had made a lot of holiday ones!)
I have another fair this Friday but its a specific craft fair so the traffic should be a lot better.
