Default 3 free copies of Stamp It! Magazine in the mail today . . .

. . . because my tip was posted on page 89! Yay!

I've never had a tip published! More exciting, of course, would be to have a card published, though!

In case you were interested, here's the tip:

I always got frustrated when using my alphabet stamps because I'd have trouble finidng a particular letter, and it was difficult to keep them in order in the box that they came in. I went to a local, well-known discount store and purchased a clear "car garage," which is supposed to used for toy cars. It has two sides with small compartments perfect for the alphabet stampss! I put one alphabet set on each side. Now the sets stay in alphabetical order all the time.

I'm off to check out the samples now.

Well, since you were the first person to reply to my posting . . . you can have the 3rd copy -- why do I need it? I'm giving the 2nd copy to my friend, neighbor, and fellow SCSer Pam. So PM or email me with your address, and it's YOURS.

I assume you are asking where can you buy the car garages, not the magazines, right? I bought mine at Walmart; they were about $4 each. That was about a year and a half ago.

Stamp It! magazine is put out by Papercrafts magazine. Go to www.stampitmag.com to find it.

I just took a picture of my "car garage" with my Alphabet Appeal Lower set in it. Sorry about the quality of the photo, but I think you'll get the idea. Hope this works -- I've never tried to put a photo into a post before.

I saw that tip!! Congratulations, that's awesome!!
I looked high and low for the new Stamp IT magazine... the local stamp store, Michael's, Borders, Barnes and Noble, and couldn't find it anywhere. Then lo and behold, I found it at the GROCERY STORE!!
Anyway, so happy for you! It's always fun to win!

I feel like I won the lottery!
Stamp It magazine only comes out 4 times a year and has tons of samples that use SU stamps or can easily be changed to use SU sets.
I love this magazine
Thanks Stampinleslie!

You can also get the new channel boxes from a SU demo. You can't buy them from the catalog, but you can buy them from a demo. They will keep the alphabets in order, too. Just another idea.

Congrats for the publishing in Stamp It! I was looking at it last night and was wondering whether it was worth it. Do you have a subscription to Paper Crafts? I was wondering about it also.

Paper Crafts & Stamp It Magazines are both published by the same, who also produces Creating Keepsakes Magazine.

PC and SI are 2 of my most favorites, but they are only just now initiating charter subscriptions to SI. PC is available by subscription. Both are wonderful resources, IMHO.

I sent in this tip long before Stampin' Up! offered the boxes with the channels for the stamps, which I love, too.

Don't know what channel boxes are or even that they are available. What exactly are they?

Channel boxes are the jumbo clear boxes (that SU large background stamps and larger stamp sets) that have rows of grooves so the letters don't slip around and stay in order. They are AWESOME! Any demo can order them.

Great Tip!! I'm bummed, Stamp It is no longer available by subscription according to customer service at the publisher. It's get it on the stands or out of luck. What's on the cover so those of us searching for it can get an idea of what we are looking for this time around.

Woah! Server issues. Kim, you came through 4 times.

I found the magazine, it was just put out this morning according to the girl. I'm concerned though, I don't know that I got the fall issue. Anyone at home that can tell me if the cover was purple and Halloweenish. I may have it but I'm at work and can't check. TIA!

Default Storage container

I use that same car carrier container for my reinkers...there are actually 48 slots...how convenient!! I might get another one to store my ink cartridges in as well. For $4 you can't go wrong.

I actually store my ink cartridges for my stampin' around wheels in one, too. Very handy! Never thought to put the reinkers in there, but great tip!

Thanks to everyone who sent me their congratulations on getting my tip published -- it seems corny, but it was pretty exciting to see my name in print in the magazine! I knew it was coming, because they had contacted me several months ago to let me know that they were going to publish my tip.

Now I need to get my act together and send in a sample . . . somewhere! Anywhere! Getting a card or a layout published would REALLY be exciting!

Leslie,
I JUST got my copy of S.I.! a couple hours ago...congrats! (For those of you looking, I got mine at Walmart, and they had lots of copies left.)

(...and it has an insert to tear out to subscribe! I guess maybe this edition hit the stands before they decided that subscriptions weren't going to be feasible. Blech... :(
Soooo glad I read on here that they were sending refund checks and not doing subscription service.)
