Default Have you tried "Stickles"?

Hi gals, I know if anyone can help me it's the gals here at SCS. I'm wanting to put some glitter on some very detailed cards. Has anyone tried "Stickles" and what do you think of it?

I have it in every color. I love glitter but hate the mess. You can do sooooooo many things with these. Enjoy.

A couple of people had the Stickels in their shoebox cards at the Northwood Gathering. It was the first time I used that brand and boy did I like it. It has a fine point applicator and detail application was very easy. I'm going to have to get some of it soon.

What are "Stickles"? It sounds like something I'd love, but have never heard of them.

I ADORE Stickles!! I wish SU would carry it! It's so glittery and reflective and easy to apply! Of course we still need the loose glitter to cover entire images, i.e., stamping in versamark, then heat and stick, then glitter. But for other uses, Stickles is wonderful!

hey gals,

I didn't know what "stickles" was so I looked it up and found this web site that sells it for $2.00 a bottle and it comes in tons of colors. I don't know how much it costs at craft stores but it's been a while since i've seen ANYTHING sold for 2bucks at a craft store! lol

here's the address:

Stickles is basically 'glitter glue'. It comes in a bunch of colors and like others have said - application is easy. I love it for filling in the hearts on 'soft swirls'. Since it is a glue, you need drying time. I highly recommend trying it!

Thanks for all you help. I just knew this was THE place for the info. I let a salesgal talk me into loose glitter and glue and after trying it and making a horrible mess I knew there had to be something easier.

She was trying to make a sale and dumb me, I bought it all. I'm going to give Stickles a try. Sounds much better for my project.

Happy Stamping to you all.

I have used Stickles and love it - works very well - however make sure you have a light hand because sometimes it flows out a little fast...also make sure you have some area to be able to lay things out flat to dry.

Thanks to someones suggestion here one of my latest favorite things is glitter nail polish....I bought one that looks like dazzling diamonds and then pumped up the glitter factor a little bit by adding some dazzling diamonds to it (not to much or it gets clumpy) - I usually do 2 layers when I am using the nail polish but it gives a nice suble glitter effect without adding dimension.

TIA

I've found it in scrapbooking stores - if you're near the Madison area try Archivers on the west side.

Ihaven't tried stickles, but I love my glitter and glue.

What I do to contain the sparkle entropy is to use a sandwich sized disposible tupperware/gladware box to dump the glitter into...and there it lives forever. I put a plastic spoon in each color and just sprinkle it onto the project. No fuss, no trying to get the glitter back into the bottle...it's a happy thing

I have found mine at Ben Franklin - I haven't ever looked for it elsewhere - if you catch it just right they have it for .99 cents sometimes

Can those of you who've used Stickles tell the rest of us the difference between Stickles & Ice Stickles? On the websites that sell them, it looks like the Ice Stickles have a "whiter" base?

Thanks!

Default Sparkles and Stickles

I have seen these sold at Michaels and Ben Franklins and in especially in stores that sell Stamps and accessories. I love all the colors and expecially like Diamonds by Sparkles. I have used it on every thing and it is also useful to give a card "zip" just like Dazzling Diamonds. I also use it sometimes to hide little mistakes.

and oh yes, the Ice Stickles has larger glitter.

I believe the ice stickles have larger chunks of glitter so the tip is larger.

Default Re What Stickles are and where can you find them now?

I have some Stickles and like it. However, the crafts stores here stopped selling it and my mom is currently visiting me from New York and wanted some, only to find out we can't find any. For those who have never used it, it comes in a little clear tube and you squeeze it on your card. It's goopy stuff and has glitter in it (or not), and you apply it to the card, and it dries. it's like putting glue on a card and then sprinkling the glitter on. You kid of get the same affect. Can you buy it locally anymore? I did see that site cistamps.com and hope to order some for my mom.

Does anyone have a card in the gallery using this amazing new product (I can't believe I'm only just hearing about it)? If so, would you post the link or tell me which member's gallery to look in. Or could someone upload a card using Stickles. I'd love to see how they look.

Thanks,
Michelle

Thanks to all who responded to this thread about Stickles. I found some at Meijer on sale 25%off, so it was only 1.49. They did'nt have all the colors I needed so I will try another store but this is so much easier to work with. To bad I did'nt come to SCS before I spent money on the loose stuff. It made a horrible mess.

That will teach me won't it. Always ask question of your friends at SCS BEFORE you go out and purchase anything. :o

Default Have you tried Stickles?

I agree with the others - Stickles is an awesome product. You get instant sparkle without the fuss or mess, and you can easily re-form, and even "erase" mistakes with a toothpick if you catch it right away. I also like the Art Glittering System, esp for really small, tight areas. It also gives a clearer, more crisp impression, comes in tons of beautiful colors, and their glue has a micro-tip which is dynamite for detail work. I've purchased both products at my local stamping store. But all in all, I use my Stickles the most and love them!!!!!

Yes, these are awesome. I find them at my local stamping store. I never liked using glitter because of the mess and two-step process but Stickles makes it really easy!!!

I am also a stickles lover...I love the irrdecent one. I make cards for my mom at Christmas (for her to give out) and a few I've just printed off some really nice Christmas clipart scenery pictures. I use the irridecent to highlight snow on trees, snow of rooftops and other little spots and it just creates a beautiful look! I love it, dried rather quickly too. When I teach classes, if we are using the sticklers I'll make sure we do those projects first and then by the end of the class they are usually dry.
I can buy this in my LSS, but when I've been down south I've picked it up at a good bargain at Ben Franklin

Miles of Smiles

I don't know if the nail polish is aicd-free or archival quality but I use it a lot for cards I swap or send to friends and family - I figure as with most cards they might hang around for a little while but eventually they get tossed (well unless it is sent to another card-making enthusist- I knwo I have a box of all the handmade cards I have recieved)

I don't use it for my scrapbooks...I have used the stickles in my scrapbooks

just curious...what makes STICKLES better or different from any other type of glitter glue? Like, crayola makes some...are the STICKLES supposed to be faster drying, more glittery...or what? just wondering...i have a ton of other glitter glues, and just wanted to know what makes these so special?? thanks!

Jovi I missed the do not disturb lady also. I love it. That is such a funny card. Where did you get that stamp from? I would love to get one. I have a stamp that says Don't tell me what kind of day to have. I think that would go perfect with that.

I bought it at a local stamp store. It's made by Art Impressions, Golden "Oldies" stamps and the lady is named Super Maude. You can also buy it form here:

HELP! Which stickles colors coordinate best with SU? I'd like to put in an order but can't afford all of them! Also, how is this product different from other glitter glues? TIA
