Default Mailable mini gifts

I like to mail small things with some of my cards, like a single serve coffee or tea bag, seed packet, etc. Today, I posted a card on my blog that is a holder for a Yankee Candle car jar air freshener. It made me wonder. What other small, mail-able items do all of you like to send? I'd love some new ideas!

Thanks!

A good friend sent me a handkerchief in a sympathy card. That was the sweetest little gift of all that I received at that time.

Mary Rose, I don't have any ideas at the moment, but your blog is great! Might have to try that chrysanthemum right away!

I recently made this and sent it to a swap hostess. There is a small ziploc pouch inside with Calgon powdered bubble bath.

I need to checkout your blog for more ideas.

I love the sample with bath crystals! This is a great idea! And it was probably a good idea to essentially double-wrap that item as you did...just in case the post office called in the anthrax squad. ;)

A hankie! What a sweet idea! There are so many beautiful vintage hankies at the antique stores. This would be a good gift, not just for a sympathy card, but a get well card, too!

Oh my, I never thought about the Anthrax scare. Better check with the hostess.

Just as a little aside, if you mail anything that might tear open in the envelope make sure that you put it in a ziplock so that if it opens somehow in the mail stream it won't leak or spill out. When something spills out of a package or envelope they have to shut down the whole mail plant because they don't know that it is just bath salts, lotion, or sugar that has spilled. They have to treat it as if it is something hazardous.
Quarantine the area and staff. Call police and clean it up as a hazardous spill.

The things you don't think of until you have to deal with it.
Just as a heads up if you are mailing little gifts in the mail.

Haven't got any ideas yet just wanting to know what others come up with. I love the bath soak idea.

This may be obvious, but you could send a bookmark or a gift card.

I participated in a chocolate swap a little while back. The idea was to include some type of chocolate in with the card. I got back such fun cards and the treats were great. There was a little pocket card holding some chocolate sticks, a little purse containing a treat back of M&Ms, criss-cross cards with little chocolate squares, all kinds of fun things like that.

I have made up a matchbook mini album that had stamped images & inspirational quotes that matched the images in it. I put the persons initial on the front cover with her favourite image. It was 3" high x 5" long so it fitted in a standard envelope & I was able to post it at the standard rate (here in Aus). It only took me about 3 hours to make up. It depends on how much detail you put into it & how much colouring you do as to whether it would take you longer or whether it would be quicker for you. Hope this gives you another useful idea.

A hankie is a really nice idea, Garnet.

I have sent book thongs, although they need to go in bubble mailers, especially when using glass beads.
