I have a weird request. I am looking for paper that looks like birch bark. My cousin is getting married with a nature/winter theme. I am making the invites and would like to incorporate the birch bark look somehow. I have real birch bark but it is next to impossible to work with - all curled up, brittle, etc. I tried to peel the "paper" off but then lose the white birch look.
Did you see you can order 3x5 samples of each kind at varying prices? This would be fun for some verrry special cards. I did love the amate paper, thanks for sharing, garnetJ!

Yes ... that's when I made myslef stop looking 'coz I was thisclose to shopping and all my (very limited) craft budget has been allocated for the Heirloom stamp convention this weekend (in Rhinebeck, NY).
could you use any of a variety of handmade papers and add some ink distressing to provide color/shape?????? I'm thinking Mulberry paper but that is because it is the only kind I've had experience with.

I checked out this site. Their paper is exactly what I am looking for! Thanks so much. I have been searching and googling for days but this site never came up.
Everyone's ideas have been so helpful. I knew the ladies on SCS would come to my rescue! Thanks again!
Is there a way for you to photocopy or photograph the birch bark you have and print it onto cardstock suitable for the invitations?
I color photocopied a piece of bark and it looks pretty cool! Excellent idea! Its a little glossy so I am going to try a matte finish copy but this could work! Thanks for your help!
