Default thoughts on PTI

I think I will like the Mazel Tov set, but I don't know if I will buy. THe others are not tempting me. It seems the first year, I bought a lot more than I do now, but I think that I have slowed down because I am trying to be more discriminating in my purchases.

That said, I still managed to get free shipping last month. Had to get the Scor Pal and the guide lines set that was out for so long and a few other goodies. I do absolutely adore the (many) sets that I do have and use them often. I bought the Halloween set last month also.

I looked at the preview on Nichole's website and I was thinking, boy that's some pretty fine cutting to use the B&B extras! I don't have the original B&B, so it doesn't tempt me. I have the snowflake serenade set from last year, so that's not on my list and I have several snowmen. Plus, I just placed a ginormous SU! order.

I haven't seen the sets in their entirety and until then, I should make my words sweet, as I have had to eat them many times in the past!

I'll be online tonight to see the new sets. I love everything I've seen so far but won't be buying tonight. I need to get the First Fruits stuff before I purchase Christmas sets. I also want to see what's in store next month since I'm pretty sure I read they would have 2 months of Christmas stuff.

I look forward to the new releases every month!

The snowman set is a sure thing for me...so is all the silver stuff!

I have put myself on a strict stamping budget and I love lots of product lines, but PTI is always the company I go back to. They get most of my money!

I will absolutely be buying the Mazel Tov set and the sentiments add-ons. To have a mainstream non-Jewish stamp company actually create this is a huge deal for me as a Jewish stamper and I want to support Nichole with this. Even without knowing what's exactly included I know it will be up to PTI's very high standards. But mostly I am so very impressed that she worked with a Jewish stamper on research to make sure everything is as correct as can be. That sort of collaboration really shows respect.

But I think I'll wait until the initial frenzy dies down. I never buy on release night. And I still have to get the Guide Lines set!

I like the paper and will order that but I don't think i will be getting stamps this month....who knows..after I see the full sets I may change my mind. Home for the holidays is the most interesting to me.

I've only bought Stampin' Up since I became a demo 1 1/2 years ago, but I think I'm going to have to get the Mazel Tov set. It looks fabulous!

I was pretty disappointed not to have a green this month! That's what I was waiting for. Wish I knew if that was coming.... I haven't ordered for a few months and would love the red and brown.

I'm not much of a detail trimmer myself, so I couldn't see myself getting much enjoyment out of making fifty or however many Xmas cards and having to cut out three or six different things for each card. I almost think I'd rather mask off the windows on the original BnB (which I don't have) and figure out a way to avoid stamping crooked decorated windows with the holiday add-on.

I would be looking forward to ordering some of the new holiday stamps from PTI if I wasn't convinced they'll sell out of some sets I'd want to include in my order. :(

I will be getting the B&B add-on set for sure! Melissa's Merry & Bright looks tempting as well...I'm on the fence about this one, gotta see the whole thing! I always try to get at least $50 for the free s/h. So that means I will order at least 2 sets and some other accessories.

I love the rustic snowflake set and all the paper, especially the blue! I'll be buying one package of blue, silver, gold and one silver and one gold ribbon. I've never gotten the early green (is it sage? I can't remember), so I'll order that one also. I have all the other paper colors and love them all! I'm hooked on PTI cardstock! Now I don't want to use anything else. I'll also buy the snowflake set and I think I decided I wanted the background dot set, so I'll more than go over $50 for free shipping.

I'm actually saving money this month! None of the new stuff are absolute must haves for me. I'm probably just ordering one of the older holiday sentiment sets, and maybe the new blue shimmer paper. I have a feeling I know who makes that paper, and can get it cheaper.

I happened to be up last night and caught the sets then. In the past, I have actually bought stamps right after they became available ~ minutes or maybe even seconds after they were up! But this time, I'm a little hesitant because they'll be having more holiday items next month and I don't want to use up my budget without seeing what's coming. At the same time, as someone else mentioned, you run the risk of them being out of stock if you wait too long. Decisions, decisions. Really love the shimmery paper and ribbon though... and still want a couple of sets released previously.

I'm curious to see what everyone says about the snowman/men. I'm not sure I want to go through that much just to stamp a snowman... Of course, it's the Papertrey way to break images down into elements and give you choices ~ but I don't think I'm that particular about what kind of scarf he has, y'know? I would've been happier with a set of four snowmen, two with a hat and two without, covering all of the expressions (which are all adorable!), all with a different scarf or buttons. And maybe a couple of little ones thrown in for good measure. I do like the sentiments in that set, too.

Still on the fence about the Boards and Beams additions. On the one hand, yes... very special card for sure and great way to spruce up the set for the holidays. On the other ~ lots of tiny cutting. My eyes are old and I wouldn't get any stamping done if I had to always take out my contacts to look over my glasses to make something LOL!! Maybe I'd use that set just before bed ;)

I'm on the fence about a lot of the sets. I want one or two Christmas sets this year, and I really like Made of Snow and Merry & Bright. But I am tempted to see what they come out with next month!

I just ordered the Mazel Tov and Mazel Tov additions, as well as the Home for the Holidays set and some of the great shimmery paper and ribbon - I had friends ask me last year for Hanukkah cards, and I was really disappointed not to be able to find any suitable stamp sets that I really wanted to work with. I'm excited about it, though, because I think my Jewish friends will really appreciate having cards made just for them.

I got the shimmer papers, the vellum and most of the silver ribbons. Using those and a c-bug embossing folder for Christmas cards, oh, and using the "Believe" sentiments. Not really after stamps and I'm impatiently waiting for some PTI black paper (due in January). LOVE PTI!

I haven't bought anything from them in a few months, so this month I got B&B and the holiday add-on. Along with Merry & Bright and the snowman set, because I'm a snowman addict!

Can't wait for it to come in.

I had taken a PTI break for several month, lol, but the Mazel Tov set pushed me over the edge...and once you put one thing in your cart, the others just seem to jump in after!

I thought I was going to order and started to fill up my cart and then thought I really don't need to spend this much on stamps when I have some similar sets already! The snowman is cute, but basically you'll stamp one snowman and its a $24 snowman ouch! I loved the silver stuff but since I didn't get any stamps I'll hold off. I had gotten some similar ribbon at Archivers last week, so I'm not completely missing it!

I ordered home for the holidays and the snowman set. I don't have a snowman set (never got into SU's frosty or cold play) so this set has many many possibilities because you can customize each snowman. I also ordered the red paper and dark brown ink pad (didn't get those last time). Looking forward to getting my stuff. I tell ya I have been using mainly my clear stamps I 'm tempted to get rid of most of my SU sets but I am nervous that I may need a set for a project and not have it. Oh well. Everyone enjoy their new stuff.

I too placed my first ever PTI order this morning. Having that goregeous Mazel Tov set was just too good! I also got Mazel Tov Additions (I call my grandma 'Bubbie'), although I think the 'may you be inscribed for a good year' is a little awkward since I have always seen it 'may you be inscribed for another year in the book of life', but maybe thats just me. I agree with the poster above that I love to see main-stream designers do jewish sets.

Yay Nichole!

I just bought some brown metallic cardstock from flourishes, an SCS member company. it is really nice. It is 92lb weight and stiff enough to make great cards but not too stiff, so I can score and fold it for little boxes.

I just started buying PTI in July, and I love, love, love them! However, I too, just couldn't spend the money this time. I always appreciate their designs and I really like looking at the projects the DT comes up with. But I actually don't make holiday cards, its just easier to buy target ones for that many. And I just didn't really have any use for them at $24 a set!

I'm also holding out until next month to see what additional holiday stuff comes out, then I may bite, and get the merry & bright set. I actually like the old xmas set, Believe, which I don't have, so I may jsut get that. I duno.

I am trying to just catch up on their papers, ribbons and some older stamp sets...

But i still do love them!

I feel for you!!!! :( :( :( It's a terrible thing to not be kept in the manner to which you are accustomed! I hope all your hard work keeping to your budget is paying off and gets recognition!!

PHEW! I only bought the Home for the Holidays set and the Aqua Mist reinker. I already have a TON of brushed silver and gold cardstock, and I have a super ribbon store near my house that has that ribbon.....and it's a lot cheaper, so I didn't need any of that stuff this month. And I told myself to just use up all the patterned paper that I already have, so I didn't buy that either! I think this is the first time that I've actually PAID for shipping! But I only spent $27 with shipping....so I done GOOD this month!

I love PTI's stuff. I ordered the add on b&b, First fruit I have been wanting and finally bought. The silver, gold and white stuff was yummy too. I am trying to behave. That will probably be my last purchase for a while.

Here is another source for the shimmer cardstock. You can order in 25-sheet packs for $9.75 or multi-color packs. If you don't need (or want!) 100 sheets, this is a great option. They have a great selection & super service. The Poison Ivory color is great if you are looking for a shimmery vanilla paper, and check out the matching envies, too.

I buy from PTI religiously every release. This month I bought the Snowman set and the Beams and Boards add on. I would have love to have had the Rustic snowflakes and Tree set but didn't have the extra money. I also got both metal reinkers and I can get the stardream paper local here in MN way cheaper so I didn't get that anchorpaper.com/retail they sell stardream either text weight or cardstock weight. I buy it in store and its by the lb or online you can buy it by the ream i think I don't remember as i buy it in store but its beautiful paper/cardstock. I can't wait to see next months release.
