You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Sorry for the delay. One of our fabulous hostesses had a reading glitch and read the schedule wrong. Luckily I have a challenge to post...just no samples. Here is your challenge:
TLC meets LSC
If you are like me, you are amazed by the fantastic techniques that other designers use on their cards, but you are little lazy about doing them yourself. Either it is too time comsuming or you don't have all of the supplies. Today, show us a technique using *ONLY* paper, ink and stamps. (You may use any sort of coloring tool too.)
Maybe it's faux embossing (there are a couple of variations...one with punches), maybe it is black magic pencil, maybe it is masking or tearing...
Show us what YOU can do with a simple technique so we can improve on our simple cards!
Again sorry, no samples today. BUT...post the name of your technique on this thread and I will set up an ongoing list of simple techniques that others can refer back to.
EDITED: To answer some questions...You are to free to use simple embellishments/tools. I'm not totally stoic when it comes to fluff and stuff! haha. Create away! (Just don't go over kill on us...we are going back to basics with these Friday challenges.)
Simple Techniques List
paper ribbon
distressing/sponging
paper sueding
grid technique
watercoloring
spotlighting
faux gel pen
faux dry emboss
brayer masking
paper tole
bandana technique
paper piecing
faux buttons
faux stitches
shadowbox card
baby wipe technique
faux brad
rock n roll
faux wood
Any more?

Way to cover the bases Dawn!! I was just thinking this am that when I first started stalking....I mean cruising SCS, I thought the Limited Supplies Challenge was for those of us who had LIMITED supplies!! LOL.....this fits that idea.....
ok....first get the kids to school...then a bike ride, walk the dog and THEN a card!!
Thanks for filling in Dawn. This is a great challenge. Hope I can create with no embellies. Yikes. Just got back from the gas station. Gas is sky high and limited here in NC. I will not be able to buy embellies pretty soon. Need to go back to simple stamping. LOL....

JUST paper, ink, and stamps....
Thanks for stepping in, Dawn.
I have to say, I've been doing so much glitz lately, this has me scratching my head! Thanks for bringing me back to my roots. (Oh goodness, terrible choice of words, but you know what I mean!)
That's limited supplies, alright, but it sounds good to me. Supermarket shopping this evening but maybe I'll come up with an idea before I need to start dinner.
Thanks for stepping in to solve the hiccup.
Hope DP is acceptable...this was definitely a real challenge to restrain from using any embellishments! Warm Witches

Thanks for helping us out with this fun one, Dawn! Ooooh, SO many possibilities!
Either I will have to try HARD to narrow it down, or else I will be posting multiple times...LOL...maybe I'll have to come up with a few other identities to post under so people don't get bored!
Great idea, can't wait to play

Thanks for the fun challenge I'm sure I'll learn something new today! I'm not sure if I cheated by using one embelishment (it had no part in the technique!) but I just had to add some snaps.
