Question As a customer, are you excited?

Hi! I'm just curious how everyone feels about now being able to order Stampin' Up! products online through a demonstrator? As a demonstrator I am excited that there is now the availability for stampers to shop 24/7 but I wondered if customers were just as excited to have this option, and if you are planning on using it.

I think it is great because you don't have to wait for your demo to put your order in.

I second that. However, I don't like that you have to pay more. That bums me out a little. However, if there is something that I need right away and don't want to wait I guess it's a good thing.

My demo and I work together, so it is never a problem to order something from her, plus she brings my items to work for me. I am sure for others, though, it will be a real convenience if you don't always have instant communication with your demo, or you don't have a monthly get-together when you can put in regular orders..

I just looked at the on-line store and for some reason I can not find the new In-Colors. Are they not offering them or am I not looking in the right spot?

I didn't know that we have to pay more for using the online system. Could someone please explain this?

I won't use it, since I can only order if I know I am coming back to the US for a visit or I know of someone coming to Malaysia. I am not sure I agree with paying more just because you order online!

I thought I read somewhere on here that you have to pay more for shipping than you would if you used your demo. I may be wrong, but I swear I heard that on SCS.

If your demosntrator has a Stampin' up! business web site and you shop on-line through her site, you do not have to pay more. The prices and/or shipping charges are higher if you shop through a demosntrator who does not have a Stampin' Up! business web site or if you want to avoid choosing a demonstrator altogether.

If your demonstrator has a Stampin' Up website, you should be paying the same price and shipping as if you were ordering from her in person. Here are the FAQs from the website:

I can't beleive I'm going to say this considering I pay all my bills online but no, I won't be using the online ordering from SU. I have a great demo who gives me free shipping, always puts in a little thank you gift, places my orders within 24 hrs, and delivers the same day she gets them.

No, on-line ordering just isn't for me. I'd miss the personalized service to much.

My demo places orders every month and lets us know in her newsletters when the order date is (it is usually around the same time each month). I live in a different town than she does so she has my order delivered directley to me. Even when I lived in the same town as her I always got my order the same day that she did. I would just feel guilty if I ordered on the SU site, my demo is fantastic and her customer service is above and beyond and I can write a cheque for my order, as I don't have a credit card (and don't want one). I haven't even checked out the new SU order line and I don't think I ever will. I love the personal contact with my demo.

I think most of my customers will still order directly from me but it is a great option for my out-of-town customers. And by ordering through my website they will get the best shipping rate. But, I agree, there's nothing like the personal contact and I do like being able to add a little gift in their orders. By the way, the higher shipping charges apply when you go through www.stampinup.com rather than your demonstrator's website to order.

I still plan on sending my customers a Thank You note. But instead of it being included in the bag I'll send it in the mail. I don't think mine will gripe about missing out on little perks like that. I'm still appreciative no matter how they order. I'm glad they have a choice. But I may be in a different position as some of my customers are 70 miles away and I travel to them to offer classes. If they were closer it may be different.

If my customers are anything like me (and they are!!) they will be awake at 2:30 in the morning and decide to make cards. After running out of pink pirouette for their new grandaughter's birth announcements they will order on-line! When you gotta have it, you gotta have it! This will be handy once in awhile.

I'm not sure if I'll use the on-line ordering or not. I enjoy picking up my order at my demo's house (she lets us know when the orders are here) or I can just wait until our monthly stamp group meets.

I don't necessarily feel it will be a replacement for ordering directly through your demo, just an additional option. It's nice to have choices!

I will probably do both. I'm in a monthly club with my demo (whom I absolutely love!) so I'll continue to put my monthly orders through her. However, I live about an hour away from her (there are closer demos to me but I'm happy with my current one) so I usually end up waiting to go pick my orders up from her. The online ordering gives me the flexibility to get things quicker. Like running out of WW Cardstock, not good! Also, I tend to forget to order things I intended on getting, so now I don't have to pester my demo so much.

I won't be using it except in an extreme emergency (not sure what that would be, but....) because the demo I use has extremely great service and al I have to do is send her an email and it's promptly ordered. So, even if I'm up at 2:30am, I can still place my order.

So if I order through my demo's SU! website, will she get credit for my sale? It's her fault I'm in this hobby, so I'd like it if she at least got some benefit out of me shopping! :-D

the thing I like most about it is during Christmas time, my hubby and folks usually have to be all "in cognito" with my SU Demo, to order items on my wishlist, find a meeting spot to "pickup the goods", etc. this way, they will be able to order everything online and have shipped to wherever they want!! Which is easy for them, and GREAT for me when I get SU! stuff for xmas

Oh yes! It's just as if you placed it with her directly. Except at your convenience if you want! :-D

Yes, if you order through your demonstrator's website she'll get credit for your order. Also, if you place a $150 order through the demonstrator website you will still get your free hostess benefits. It's a win-win!

And as someone else said, it's fun to have choices.

Well I'm totally stoked then! I recently moved 500+ miles away from my demo and am not interested in finding a new one currently. I was just going to email her my order, but this is way better! Online ordering will be, for me, much faster and easier.

I love online shopping.

If I still had my old demo, I definitely would have begin ordering online. I am not even sure my current one HAS a website, but she gives me free shipping and doesn't charge taxes, so I will stick with the old fashioned way for now.

now if I need to place a very large order and couldn't come up with the cash/check to cover and had to use the credit card, I might go through her website (if indeed she has one, maybe I should ask her!) for the convenience.

Ok...maybe I missed this somewhere...but what if my demo offers a discount? Is there a way to order online and get the discount?

I do like that I can make up a shopping bag and see what my total is etc...even if I don't actually place the order online.

You can order directly through her and still use your credit card if you want. SU added that capability a few months back. This gives you the best of both worlds, lol!

I know that you get hostess benefits as far as dollars of free stuff when ordering online but can you still get the hostess sets?

Yes, after you select your free dollar value rewards and go to checkout, you get to choose your free hostess set(s). Great, huh?

I LOVE the option!!! I have a great demo and I will continue to put in orders with her (I'm in one of her stamp clubs) but I also really appreciate being able to go to her website and order just a few supplies if I need to and not have to wait for anyone/anything else.

If your demo doesn't have a website, how do you go about ordering online anyway? I'm in Canada and when I go to the SU website and click the online ordering, it only gives the option of a Demonstrator Locator or Demonstrator Directory.

I work with my demo so I don't think I'll really need this but I'm just curious.

Thanks!

I love the option. My demo is kind of on hiatus right now so it's nice to know I can still order.

Oh I know, but if I do it that way I have to wait until she credits me back for the shipping and taxes. for large orders I don't mind doing that, but for smaller ones it's just easier to write a check so she isn't having to keep track of what my credits are. Or me.
