Default Well, I went digging yesterday and this is what I found . . .

12 Days of Christmas for Students
found at:

On the twelveth day of X-mas my true love gave to me
Twelve college degrees
Eleven students on honor-roll
Ten students studying
Nine school dances
Eight students-a-learning
Seven kids in the office
Six #2 pencils
Five free-dress days
Four sick kids
Three straight A`s
Two pink erasers
And one teacher teaching

The Thirteen Days of Homeschooling
~ Author Unknown.

On the twelfth day of homeschool, my neighbor said to me,
Can they go to college? What about graduation? They'll miss the prom! I could never do this, Why do you do this? Look at what they're missing! How long will you homeschool? YOU ARE SO STRANGE! What about PE? Do you give them tests? Are they socialized? Can you homeschool le-gal-ly?

On the thirteenth day of homeschool, I thoughtfully replied,
Colleges love homeschools. We'll have high school transcripts. Prom is just a party. You could if you wanted. God wants me to do this. They are missing nothing. I'll homeschool forever! WE ARE NOT STRANGE!! We go to the "Y", We do test, They are super kids, and we homeschool le-gal-ly!

An Old Woman of the Roads
by Padraic Colum (1881-1972)

O, to have a little house!
To own the hearth and stool and all!
The heaped up sods upon the fire,
The pile of turf against the wall!

To have a clock with weights and chains
And pendulum swinging up and down!
A dresser filled with shining delph,
Speckled and white and blue and brown!

I could be busy all the day
Clearing and sweeping the hearth and floor,
And fixing on their shelf again
My white and blue and speckled store!

I could be quiet there at night
Beside the fire and by myself,
Sure of a bed and loath to leave
The ticking clock and the shining delph!

Och! but I'm weary of mist and dark
And roads where there's never a house nor bush,
And tired I am of bog and road,
And the crying wind and the lonesome hush!

And I am praying to God on high,
And I am praying Him night and day,
For a little house, a house of my own,
Out of the wind's and the rain's way.

By the way, you don't have to ask my permission to post in this thread. If you want to share a bit of prose, a prayer, or a poem that you have used in your own paper crafts or think it might be of interest to other paper artists here, by all means, please feel free to post. I just began this thread, because I saw a need for an index of poetry here at Splitcoaststampers. And I hope it's been helpful.
