I just checked out the online ordering part of my demo's site, and all I can say is WOW! So glad SU finally went this route! So easy to use and find stuff instead of scrolling through the online catty.
I would love to be able to use it, but it won't let me create an account--says my session has timed out, please log in again. Then when I try to login, it says invalid login...
I need this order, and have trouble getting hold of my demo (she and I work opposite shifts, but I like her and like working with her).
SU has told us demos that they expect the online ordering to be fully functional by 1 pm MT. There may be little glitches (like the time-out error) until they've fully updated the servers.
Ok, I know this has been answered before so forgive me for being late....but does my demo have to have a SU web site for I can order online?
At this time, yes. SU will be rolling out online ordering through the main website (where you will be able to order through your demo if she does not have her own SU web site) in about a month.

If your demo does not have an SU website, you will wish to order from her in your usual way. Shipping cost, stampin rewards (hostess benefits) and demonstrator income will be all be the same whether you order through her demonstrator website or in the traditional way. Those items will be less beneficial if you order directly from the SU site when that option is rolled out.
Don't try this today. Spent 45 minutes placing $300+ order (mostly cardstock), submitted credit card, hit final send, and POOF! Order disappeared into cyberspace, along with credit card number....
Then spent another 30 mins on phone w/SU, confirming that order was placed or not. NOT. Order has completely disappeared, and now must totally reshop, resubmit, and reorder. ARGH!!!!!
Remember the first day you could download the new catalog? It took forever! But after a couple days it downloaded very quickly. Sorry that you ran into a glitch. Maybe it would be good to wait a day or two.
Is the online ordering going to be for US customers only? Or will it be available to those of us North of the border? I haven't heard about it yet from my demo. Thanks.

SU rep says system is up and running. Right.
I am SO sorry you had a bummer experience. :( Like Belinda mentioned, SU did say they would be loading things all morning and it should be fully functional sometime after 1:00pm mountain time. Maybe give it a shot again later this afternoon after they are done getting everything loaded?
It is working well now. Two of my customers just used it and did not have a problem. I love the new internet ordering. I am 2:00am shopper and love the convenience of the internet.

I was excited to see my site was up and running for ordering today!! I just became an SU demo two weeks ago and went ahead and got the website...just in time!!

You should be able to do that anyway. I have orders sent to my customers all the time.
I didn't know you could do this - I have only ordered from a demo once, and it was delivered to her house? I thought that was so they could check all the merchandise, go over it all, make sure everything was fine, etc. I did have one thing missing (backorder) and some cardstock damaged (didn't even bother mentioning that) but what happens if this does with your direct shipped order ..... anyone? Do you just call them up, send it back, they ship a new one, etc? I'd love to here more, if I could have it delivered directly to me and not go thru a "middle man". And is the link right at the SU! website for direct ordering, or do you all mean demos online, not the regular customers? Sorry, I'm new at this :-D

Okay, just answered my own questions, lol! Read ahead next time Thanks!
I spoke with Demo Support about this, and if you order through the new online system, it will be sent to you, the customer, period. There is not an option to have it go to the Demo.
When I place an order for a customer today, I try to include it with a workshop order to reduce the shipping costs for the individual order. That may be what your Demo is doing. I also have the first order with a new customer delivered to me so she can come pick it up (or I can drop it off) to meet her. After that, I give them the option of direct-ship or a personal hand-off.
I've never ordered from SU before, both online and from a demonstrator...is there always a handling fee in addition to the shipping charge? I compiled a $75ish order and it was almost $8 for handling and another $8 for shipping...
The minimum shipping & handling charge is $6.95 in the US, but after your merchandise order hits $69.50, the shipping & handling goes down to 10% of the merchandise total.
If you order as part of a workshop it is always 10% of the merchandise total.

Your orders have a minimum S/H fee plus taxes added. Like noted above $6.95 US or 10% then taxes.
If you ordered online, without choosing a demonstrator (i.e. direct from SU) you pay higher shipping/handling and you don't get the hostess benefits listed in the catalogue. This is to promote the use of demonstrators.

I personally would have loved to have that option! On my invoice, shipping was $17.04 and then another $8 for sales tax - it truly adds up! But I guess I looked at it that most other companies charge a bit to ship orders per a certain amount - regardless of whether is lightweight (stamp pads) or super heavy cardstock. They charge by what you spend. I guess if you really want the products bad enough! ;)

We're all free to run our demoship as we want. I don't have ANY orders delivered to customers unless if they are not local. I like to check all the orders and tuck in a sample using that set if I have it and/or a thank you card and a little sample of something I think they'd like.

Oh, I didn't mean it was the only way to go, I was just saying it was possible. Most of my local customer orders come to me as well. :-D

Question.... if your demo is offering her own special at a given time, and you want to order online, do you know how that would go? Can it be done? I don't have that situation right now, but I know some demos do have their own specials now and again.

It is not possible for a demo to offer a personal discount with online ordering.
