Just wanted to share a heart-warming story with you all and a great opportunity....
Carolyn King (SCS Cammie) recently lost her grandmother to Alzheimer's Disease. If any of you have been around loved ones with this dreadful disease I am sure you can relate to how devastating it can be! My own grandmother had it badly and as little kids growing up it was very difficult to understand her behavior, why she did the things she did........
As you know Carolyn has her own line of stamps and has recently released a new set called Whimisical Autumn at Gina K. Designs. She is donating all of the proceeds of the sale of this new set to the Alzheimer's Association for research purposes.
For $16.00 you can make a donation to a very honorable cause and receive a wonderful set of stamps in return! Definately a win/win situation. It's an adorable set of stamps in a Fall theme....timing on this one is great!
Location: Just west of Spokane, WA, on the rim of a lake with a beautiful view

I just order that set and a couple of other new releases at Gina K. I really like the Whimsical Autumn set, Carolyn your grandmother would be proud of you. Thanks for thinking of others in this way.
My grandmother died of Alzheimer's Disease and my father was diagnosed last year at age 69. It's a very difficult disease on many levels. I'm walking in Memory Walk this year to raise funds for both research and to help those people and their loved ones living with Alzheimer's. A couple of wonderful SCS people have already donated to my Memory Walk and I so appreciate it! The link is in my signature if you want to donate. The walk takes place next weekend, Sept 13th, but I'll be collecting until the end of November. My goal is to collect $2,000 in donations this year and I'm really close! Thanks for helping if you can.

Wow Pegg...what a wonderful thing....the Alzheimer's Association is a lucky organization to have the likes of you and Cammie raising money for their cause! I wish you the best of luck with that!
What a wonderful set! I just lost my Mother to that dreadful, debilitating disease in February. My Grandmother and Aunt had it, too. Thanks for the information. What a wonderful way to honor her grandmother!

Your welcome Linda. I am glad you spotted this....so sorry to hear about your mother.....Unfortunately it seems you know this disease all to well with your family history! Hugs to you!
Thanks, Carolyn, it's a passion with me as I'm sure it is with most people who have lost a loved one to Alzheimer's Disease. Your stamp set is incredibly cute! I hope you sell lots! Thanks for donating to the cause

I added a donation to your fundraising efforts because...I want you to far surpass your goal! Every little bit helps---good luck--what a wonderful thing to do!
My grandmother just just passed away on Tuesday of Dymensia which is a 'branch' of Alzheimer's Disease.
I love this set and it's a great way to honor someone.
So sorry for your loss Krista, and all you had to go through. I too lost a grandmother to Dymensia and my Aunt was in the early stages when she passed away a couple of months ago. It's a tough disease for the family to live through.
Thanks so much Cam and Gina for all you two are doing to help. You two are so generous!!
Cammie, what an adorable set, I especially love the squirrel and the basket of apples! What a wonderful thing you are doing to honor your grandmother and to help others who are dealing with this devastating disease. I just finished placing my order!
What a beautiful set. I've been holding off buying Gina K. But this is just the incentive I need. I lost my grandmother to complications from Alzheimer's Disease in 1992. In the end she called me Matthew (my father's name) and it was so hard to watch but at least I was an adult so I understood what was happening.
Now I have to go shopping! I also happen to like the Autism set. I'm a sucker for a good cause.
