*************NOW CLOSED!!!***************
There will be places for 25 people. Please post to this thread or PM me if you want to be added to the list. If we get more than 25 people that want to attend, I will start a waiting list.
What is a shoebox swap?
This is a fun swap to create a lot of cards in a short time but only have to come up with one great idea of your own! Prior to the day, you will need to create a card and bring all the supplies needed for each participant to create the card. The number all depends on how many people we get to sign up. I will let you know a month ahead of time. These cards should not take more than 10-15 minutes to complete. I definitely do not want to discourage challenging cards or cards showcasing new techniques. However, if your card is intricate and fancy you may want to pre-stamp or pre-assemble some items for the other stampers. You will need to make a completed sample of your card so everyone can see what the card is supposed to look like. Then each person will be able to complete your card and take home a variety of cards.
This is a full card swap. Cards should have a minimum of two layers and one embellishment. You need to supply all materials needed for your card. That means cardstock, ribbon, eyelets, stamps, ink, etc. All cardstock will need to be pre-cut to sheet or to the size needed for your card. This not only saves you money, but the rest of us time. No vendor requirements on all supplies, but quality, thick cardstock is a MUST! Current Stampin Up products are preferable. No envelopes need be supplied.
Put all pieces needed to assemble your card into separate sandwich bags or kits. Include written/printed instructions for your card in each bag. You will not be demonstrating these, so please make sure your instructions are very, very clear so that even beginners can easily complete your card.
Put your original card, your kits, stamps, ink and anything else that is needed but not in the basic supply kit in a Shoebox or basket. On the outside please put your name so we know who made which project. You may want to cut a few extras in case boo-boos occur. Please label all your supplies.
Please bring a BASIC SUPPLY KIT to include: Stamp-n-scrub w/stamp cleaner, scissors, adhesive, pop dots or foam dots, bone folder, paper cutter/scorer, scissors, straight edge, and a black journaling marker and whatever else you cant stamp without (markers?). Have some sort of carry case for these items as youll be moving to each station.
Please also bring something to carry your completed cards in that will keep them safe. Bring your camera if you want to take pictures of the card samples in case you dont have time to complete all the projects.
YOU NEED TO BRING ENOUGH SUPPLIES FOR EVERY PERSON THAT ATTENDS THE EVENT TO MAKE YOUR CARD. Final count will be given 3 weeks in advance.
Other Info:
If you have any questions, please pm me. I will be happy to explain any details you wish to know about.
YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER AND PRE-PAY
Cost: $10.00 per person. Your registration must be paid no later than September 19th. Mail your registration form and payment to me. There are no refunds, but you may offer your spot to someone else. All funds collected will be spent on the event. Heres whats planned:
Shoebox Swap Youll know how many to make when we post the final count, and youll have plenty of notice since the deadline is a month ahead of the event.
Lunch and lite afternoon snacks will be provided. If you have a favorite snack you would like to share, please feel free to bring it. The kitchen will be available for our use.
Door Prizes If you would like to donate a wrapped gift, we will draw names through out the day. Stamped projects are also welcomed. If its something youd like to take home, its probably perfect! Be sure to include your name somewhere inside so the lucky winner knows who to thank. If you wish to donate a prize, please PM me so I will know for planning.
Name Tags Make and wear a nametag with your name and your SCS name so that we know you on sight.
Church Donations Id love to be able to give a little back to the church. If youd like to donate any canned goods or non-perishable food for the local food bank, they have a box available. I will also have a box for full cards to donate to their card ministry. Participation is completely OPTIONAL.
Garage Sale Please bring any items that you would like to trade or sell. Current SUP supplies may be traded but can not be sold. Any retired products may be offered for sale. We will have some shopping time during the lunch break.
***I want to take a minute and thank Deb for this wonderful opportunity of getting together once again with a great group of women. If it was not for Deb, I would not have known how to go about putting one together.
PS I copied her post from way back in December.
I can't wait to get together again and meet new people as well.

Hi Crystal, I just put the registration form and the check in the mail. I'm excited. If I have to work that day (which I shouldn't because my husband is out of town later that evening) I will give my spot away. But I think I'll be okay
Hi everyone
If you of anyone that is still interested this will be closing on Monday, September 15th in the evening so everyone has enough time to prepare their kits. If anyone wants me to keep it open until the 22nd I can as long as I have a consensus from everyone that that is ok otherwise it will close Monday night! Hope a few more signup its gonna be a blast!

Great...we just need a few more people I am open to leaving registration to the 22...I always make extra kits anyway and it would be nice to have at least 20 people...anyone else want in on a great swap....Our group did this one last fall and got fabulous cards
I don't mind that it is left open until September 22 either. I am going to make some extra kits so that I have them on hand. If I don't use them for the swap, I'll make them up and use them for myself. If anyone who has signed up has a list of cardmaker friend, please forward this onto them so that they can have a chance to participate. This is so much fun!
