I had the craziest dream last night and SCS is to blame!! In my dream i was being chased by evil DSP clad sock monkeys that ended up chasing me over a cliff and i woke up at the bottom (know when you fell like you are falling? thats what it felt like) And the weird thing this isnt the first time ive dreamt about them!
what could this dream possible mean? I know have a sock monket phobia and seriously the SU one ranks right up their with clowns
That is a CRAZY dream! Have you bought the sock monkey set yet? Maybe it's a sign you shouldn't .... or maybe a sign that you should buy it and make a card with it everyday until you no longer feel threatened by the DP wearing sock monkey. And totally unbelievable you've had that dream BEFORE! I hope I don't dream about sock monkeys chasing me tonight!

LOL no i havent bought it yet, nor do i plan on it it creeps me out too much
Hey...I have to say this gave me a good laugh this morning! I think the sock monkey set is adorable! I understand the phobia thing though...I came across a big, long snake yesterday  Not good at all!!! I am still shaking!
I'm not a big fan of clowns, either, but I LOVE the sock monkey! Won't you give him a chance? See? Sock monkeys = happiness!!!
Oh Jessica, your card is just yummy! I still have my sock monkey from when I was a little girl and resisted this set - now I am starting to get pangs of regret. It's delightful! You really made it look so realistic and huggable! Oh ........I want it now ....... LOL :-D

That is a funny dream. SCS has a way of imprinting on us, doesn't it? I Have bolted up and out of bed in the middle of the night saying "Wait, I have an idea for a card!" and gone to scribble it down as a sketch so as not to forget it, rofl. Part of the addiction
I'm not sure if the sock monkey is evil, but that is a scary dream. I must say, I don't care for the little guy. I hope you don't have reoccurring nightmares about them. You may have to attend a 12 step program or something more drastic.
Many of us who are over a half century old still have our sock monkey. He is a symbol of happy things. He is not evil, he brings back a lot of happy memories for many of us "old folks".
I'd love to get the stamp set from Stampin' Up, but have no use for the other stamps in the set, so I can't justify the cost of the set for just one stamp.

There are a ton of things you can do with the other stuff! A heart for Valentine's Day, Balloon for birthdays, cupcakes for birthdays or other occasions, a cute flower, a little pennant for sports themes, etc.
Just to clarify, i never had a sock monkey as a kid, i was a '90's child, (i had mr teddy, actually i still do he's just packed away) but i do think real sockmonkeys are cute just so long as they arnt covered in flowers or something
I am NOT a lover of clowns OR Sock Monkeys so I feel your pain or FEAR!!!! However the dang Monkey is calling me...I think he wants to get into my house so he can cometo life to torment me...OK to much late night scary movies, but I am sure that's what he wants to do!!!!
I understand! I am not a fan of sock monkeys eather, but i have a GD that just loves them. I made her one for her birthday. I made a red dress with a pocket that i cut out flowers and put on it and i made a hair clip with the flowers on it. She loved it. I wish they had the set out then. I still haven't decided weather to get it or not. She will be 13 on her next birthday, and non of the others like them.
You guys wont believe this but I was shopping at Walmart the other day and they have sock monkeys now. They have them in the original color and also in the stripes pattern. I couldn't believe it. I was not thrilled with the stamp set but I will have to admit when I seen the accessories that goes with it, I am tempted.
ok when i saw the Sock monkey i Totally told my aunt i had to have the SOCK MONKEY she doesn't think its that cute but I do but i think i will get the other stamps sets i want first before i get him. My Aunt is in charge of my money thats why i told her that i wanted it.
I agree with you the sock monkey that is covered in Flower DP SCARES me also

Wasn't planning on getting sock monkey until I saw my demo's card. then I was only considering it. the Who rules the roost card did it for me. Now I have another set to add to my list of many to buy.

Susan you have made me laugh this morning. I never expected to see my card in this thread. Just a little stamping humor -- my DH didn't think it was too funny though. Wonder why?
I have grown up with Sock Monkeys. I live just outside of Rockford, Il, where the factory that makes the socks is located. We have a museum here that has a Sock Monkey Festival and the city of Rockford held a contest a couple of years ago where people and organizations decorated sock monkey statues that they placed in various areas of the city. They are just cute! My kids had one when they were little and I will now be passing it on to my grandson. It's funny how retro keeps coming back, isn't it?
