I'm sure there is some reason why I have to make a bunch of these. Can't think what it might be right now and I don't think I should try this at midnight. When the clock strikes 12 all my cute little stars would probably all turn into pumpkins or mice.
The bigger ones make a great little mobile for Christmas, and good tree decorations. DH and I both love origami .
But I can't help laughing at your idea of them turning into pumkpins or mice, LOL.
Easy? Do you think so? I'm all thumbs on something like this.
We first came across them when Santa brought them for the children, it was a little pack from Klutz, the idea being that you write a wish on the strip of paper before folding it up. klutz.com/catalog/product/1440/
These are very cool. And a great website. I will show these to my DS who is the origami king at our house.

My sister made a ton of those stars with shiny, multi-coloured paper and then put them in a jar for a decoration. My parents still have that jar with all those tiny stars in it!
I've made these in the past using 1 inch ribbon. Not fabric ribbon like we use on our cards but the more plasticky gifr-wrap ribbon. Then I strung them up with beads and gave them away as leis. Super cute!
DD (13) received a pretty bottle full of these stars for a birthday present from her friend. The friend made all the stars & the finished piece is beautiful!

Oooh! I am so with you on this. Fell in love with this site. The puffy stars are soooo sweet. Check out this cute necklace I found on the site--second photo down.
I made some German Folded stars last fall, as Christmas decorations, to mimic some that my Grandmother had made about 50 years ago. You can see them here: http://a-country-life.blogspot.com/2...-lot-like.html
My question is, is there a place to buy long strips of paper for things like this? I had to cut strips of thinner cardstock/patterned paper and glue them together to make them long enough to utilize. They came out great, and all, but buying the strips would be so much easier!

The tutorial for the lucky stars mentions buying origami strips. I did a Google search and found dozens of web sites that sell them. Lucky Star Origami Strips.
But I'm not sure of the measurements. I looked at the site for the German Paper Stars and think that perhaps the strips are a bit wider in proportion. I will leave you to do the arithmetic! :rolleyes:
