Default About those ads!

Here's a link to one of the ads that pops up just by touching anyplace on the SCS screen. (Dang! I thought I copied it before closing it.) They're full screen ads, and some (not all) are pretty disgusting (hornymatch for one). They're all unnacceptable and unwanted. It just started yesterday. Last night, I cleaned out my browsing history and today, even without logging on to SCS, got they're. I'm going to try the deleting again and stay awa from SCS for a bit and see if they go away (or if they continue and they have nothing to do with SCS).

If, on your end, you find they are connected to SCS and you get rid of them, if you'd send me an email, I'd appreciate it.

If it looks like it's totally not SCS related, I'll get back to you.

TTFN,
jean

I haven't had any problems with those kinds of ads but I'm not really liking the flashing banner ads.

Those R-rated ads sound like a virus to me. At my DH's work the secretary got one where every time she opened her browser window porn ads came up.

I've added AdAware software and the ads have gone away. Stayed away from SCS for most of the day yesterday -- dang, not easy to do! Back today. Hopefully, the ads are gone for good, and many apologies if this is totally non SCS related! (If it was a virus, could it have come through on someone's thumbnail attachment in a chat forum thread? Is my total lack of 'puter knowledge coming through loud and clear? ;) )

It turned out to be malware. Thank goodness for the local teen who can help me stay in the 21st century (relatively speaking). Not sure where it came from, but sure glad it's gone!
