I make cards for Thanksgiving, but only a few: for my brother and his wife, my sister-in-law and her husband, and my MIL, and of course for my DH. I do the same for Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween and sometimes for July 4th.

I do send out lots of Thanksgiving cards to tell people how thankful I am for them being a part of my life.
My pastor preached a sermon about how Thanksgiving gets lost between Halloween and Christmas hoopla, and yet it is the perfect time to give thanks to all those who touch our lives. That's what gave me the idea.
I do plan to make some Thanksgiving cards. Just finished some autumn
and Christmas cards. I have a group I sing with that I will be making cards
for and some family members. Thanksgiving is a time to "give thanks" and
recognize this important holiday.

I make and send Thanksgiving cards to the people I won't be seeing.
If we are getting together I don't send them.
Some years we see the whole family some years we all
go our separate ways. I love the years I don't make many cards!!!!

I make them for family and a few close friends. I usually get a purchased card from my sister and one or two friends, too. It's just nice to remind people that you care--whatever the time of year.

I never have but I am considering it since I have some beautiful tree stamps and inspired by the Holiday catty card with the tree/autumn leaves.
I also oddly want that stamp set with the turkey, pilgrim, Mayflower -- haven't a clue what I would use it for but it is so darn cute!!
I made "Thanksgiving Blessing" treats to give out to the family one year and DD made place cards last year so I am thinking it could be used for that as well as cards - Hmmm.
So yeah the short answer is "Never have but inspired to do them this year".

Exactly! Same here.

Although I don't make Thansgiving cards per say, I do usually make something for the family at Thanksgiving. Last year I made the triangle treat boxes with dinner mints in them. This year DSIL and I are going to do silverware sleeves w/ DP and a stamped medalion on the front. We also have done place cards.
I make only about 4 -5 of them (for my parents, DH, MIL, and Sister). Actually, I just bought a cute pilgrim boy & girl from RubberNeck stamps and I made a card with the girl stamp yesterday (I have to upload it to my blog & gallery today)
Now that I am a demo, I will be sending cards to everyone for every holiday (well almost) just to get the word out and try to entice people with cute cards. And also because I love my family and friends and who doesn't like getting good mail?

Before seeing this thread I was just thinking to myself that Thanksgiving is such a perfect time to send cards to people. I never have, but plan to start this year.

It's official...I'm a stamping addict (second only to my "being a grandma" addiction)!
I do--and for most of the holidays. I have what used to be my "Great 8" that I would send to--8 family and friends--but that has now grown to 12. Just clsoe family and 'best' friends.

I make cards to go in the Thanksgiving baskets our church delivers to people who live alone, have been ill, are new to the area, have lost a job or a loved one, etc. I also make them for my dd's teachers, friends, neighbors, and other people I feel particularly blessed to know.

I have already done a few hundred Thanksgiving cards for the troops and more than 1000 Christmas ones. On a personal basis yes I do lots of Thanksgiving cards for family and friends. Right now I am switiching off between Thanksgiving and Christmas for the troops so I get a little variety.
There are only two Holidays that I do not do on a personal basis and those are Halloweeen and St. Pattys day. I do some for the troops but not for me.
Blessings.
I have made cards in the past, but not the most recent two years. I purposely purchased a couple of thanksgiving stamps so I "have" to make cards this year so that I don't feel guilty about buying the stamps. LOL.
I am also planning to make some Thanksgiving cards that my church can send to our shut ins.
Thanks for reminding me - I need to get started!

I have not made any Thanksgiving cards in the past. But this year I am determined to make a few for close family and friends. I need to do something with all the "stuff" I've accumulated.

Oh my! I cannot fathom that many cards! As slow as I am, it would literally take YEARS for me to finish that many cards!! I get not more than 1 card finished per evening and that's on a good day!
I am the nursery coordinator at our church, so I like to take the time at Thanksgiving to make a little something for those who help in that ministry. One year I made bookmarks with their names on them, and last year I made a cello bag with topper that had hershey nuggets with a sticker around them that had leaves and thanks on them. They were a great way to show how much they are appreciated before the busy Christmas season starts.
Yes, I have been making Thanksgiving cards for years for family and close friends. Also New Years, Valentine, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween and Christmas. Also birthdays, of course. I just love to make and send cards! (And it gives me a good excuse to buy new stamps and DSP!)

I usually make between 8 and 10, as I do not see most of my family on that day. I had a blast last year, casing this card. Sadly did not get a picture of my own, but this one is better, any way!
I guess I should start thinking about this year, too!

Not being American, my answer should be no! But the only time I was ever in the States was at Thanksgiving after my mum had had a heart attack when she was over in MA visiting my half-sister. She had just come out of hospital about two days before, and was being flown back here with a doctor and nurse the day after - so I always send my half-sis and her family a Thanksgiving card. I usually send a Blue Mountain card too - at least then I can ask for an email to be sent when they get it, whereas with snail mail I just assume it has arrived safely but never know for sure.

Eileen, this is a very cute card. I see why you had fun with it.
