that I know will be appreciated here. I have a gauzy black skirt -- nothing fancy but comfy and cool -- that I must have been wearing that last time I did laundry. When I put it on this morning, my DD said "Oh mom, there's a spot on your skirt." Sure enough there was a little bleached out spot on the side. Toss it out? Nope -- Rubbed my Stazon Black pad across the spot and it's good as new. Who says crafting tools can't be used in "real" life!
This doesn't have a craft product in the story, but the last laundry mishap that i had was just the other day. I was pulling the laundry out of the dryer when I saw a memory card from a digital camera. I thought " Oh no!" those things are not cheap! It turned out that my son left it in his pocket..... The good news is that it still worked! No "dirty" pictures on that memory card!
Confession: I have used my ATG to tack up the hem on a pair of shorts when the thread pulled out. Worked like a charm and held up through a couple of washings - LOL!

I have an inexpensive set of dinnerware in bright colors and a couple of the plates got chipped around the edge. I used my craft pads in the brights to dab on and it is hardly noticable now!
Well yesterday we were putting together some Jetmax cubes I got and one of them didn't have the holes drilled properly for the dowels... DH asked me did I want the dowels taken off or to re-drill the holes. I said I would prefer to re-drill.
So we marked the dowels for the holes with Brilliance graphite black because I knew that would stay wet long enough! and proceeded to put the piece on top to mark the piece to drill!
I had a nice pair of black knee-hi boots that I had just bought. Somehow I scuffed them so bad I could see a big white mark. I was heartbroken. I figured they were ruined, so I couldn't make them any worse. I used a black sharpie to color it in. It worked really well except where I used the sharpie was dull compared to the rest of the shoe. So I dapped a little Crystal Effects on the spot and it looked as good as new. 2 years later I am still wearing those same boots!!

i have a very nice dress shirt that got bleach splatters on it... SHARPIE to the rescue!
i have also used the 'sharpie method' on some cute capri pants that got chlorine splash while adding it to the pool. and i always used them on my daughters mary janes when she was little.
my latest is using the rose red marker to cover a couple scratches on my leather purse... viola!
I am about ready to try Not Quite Navy on my son's uniform where a couple of spots got bleached out. And thanks to speanburg4 for the boot idea. I have a brand new pair of shoes that the heel got a ding in it. Now I know to put crystal effects on it to bring back the shine.
I was recently visiting my sister (lives alone) who lives 800 miles away. We discovered that some metal flashing (a metal strip) along the edge of her front door had pulled loose at the bottom, making it impossible to shut the door. It's almost midnight and we need to lock up for the night--what to do? We had to pound some nails into a very tight space and bend the metal back into place. Regular size tools weren't working. We had been stamping earlier in the day---I ran over and grabbed the Making Memories tool kit: used the long curved tweezers to hold the nails while using the little hammer to pound them into place. Used needle nose pliers to re-bend the metal strip back into place. Ten minutes later we locked up and were in our beds!
Too funny ladies. I myself also used Black sharpies too. But never thought about using the black stazon. Great idea. Now, I will do the stazon on my boots around the toe area.
