I was reading a post on here awhile ago about someone who had taken two eyelets and placed them inside each other (so you don't see the smashed side at all, I think).
Can anyone help me with this? I have searched, but am not finding anything.
That doesn't sound familiar to me - I thought when I read the title that you were talking about a regular one inside a jumbo one, maybe.
I do know that Eyelet Outlet sell little washers for using with regular size eyelets, on the back of the paper. I love them, they give a really neat finish to the inside of the card if it is going to show. Only thing is, they're harder to position with the Big Bite than with the regular Crop-a-Dile or old-fashioned setters - but check them out. They are well worth getting, my jar full lives just behind my computer screen.
I found a blog, www.stampwithheather.typepad.com, where she made little albums and did the eyelet-in-the-eyelet thing. Hope this is what you want. The tutorial is dated Sept 22, 2007. Basically, you use a crop-a-dile and set the first eyelet back to front in your hole and then set the second eyelet front to back. Sorry if this doesn't make sense. Please go to the blog where there are pictures. It is really easy and simple and the end product is cute. You just use your creativity and.....
I tried that and I still have a smashed eyelet on the backside. I don't think I am understanding the directions, but then.....I am directionally impaired anyway.
Thanks for posting both of the tutorials, ladies. Yes, this is what I was looking for! I still am having problems, though, so here are a few questions:
Has anyone tried this with eyelets other than SU? I have some making memories eyelets and some "unknown origin" eyelets. I have tried both large and small.
I either can't get the second eyelet to stay in, or you can still see some of the smashed part on one side, or some of the other eyelet in the hole area.
I am using only 1 layer of cardstock to practice with. Does this make a difference?

i do this by 1st setting the large eyelet. then placing a drop of crystal effects into the center. last drop the smaller eyelet. the crystal effects is your glue. i have never had a problem.
SU! Eyelets are usually a little softer so they flatten without splaying. Some of the other brands splay or flower when you set them. I have not tried this, but I bet it is the brand of eyelet.
I don't have any SU eyelets. I did this technique on small albums as in the tutorial with c/s cover, 4 pages of white c/s for pics & the c/s back. I think the thickness does make a difference so that it takes up some of the 'tubing' part of the eyelet. (Don't know what that part of the eyelet is called that you actually place in your hole???) Took a little practice but my last albums didn't seem to show the smash part of the eyelet. Good luck!
