Default Need your honest opinions...please :)

I was recently asked to do wedding invitations for my cousin's friend. I have never done wedding invites before. She asked that I come up with a simple invitation with a fall theme. Here is what I came up with, please give me honest feedback...I'm a big girl I can take it...I promise!!!

I LOVE it...very elegant and beautiful! Very pretty and I can't believe you've never made a wedding invite before. It's simple, but with the vellum on top it makes it elegant (I'm assuming you used vellum over the top with the writing?).

I wouldn't change anything...and I'm being honest ;)

Agreed - you have a real knack for this. I kept trying to come up with a suggestion and couldn't. The invite looks wonderful.

Very Cute!! I really like it! I just finished making 120 invitations for a friend, it was very rewarding but it took so LONG!! I'm glad I am done

I think your invitations look good but you should probably ask the bride/groom. it's ultimately up to them.

Ok.. I am the lone soldier on this one..

I like the concept and design but I am finding it is really hard to read the words in the places that the leaves are behind them.. Maybe they don't look that way in person but at least in the picture, even enlarged, I just can't read some of it..

Please no flaming, she asked for an honest opinion.

I think they are beautiful as well.....the words are probably easier to read in person??.......but that is about as simple and elegant as you can get in one card!!!

I love it! I personally like the "simple, yet elegant" look for formal occasions. If I were the bride I would love them.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful compliments!!!

It is much easier to read in person, the words almost seems 3-d in person. I thought the same thing about the scan...it is very hard to read the words.....darn computers!

Thanks again everyone...you girls are the best!

Gorgeous. I'm always nervous when folks ask for "honest opinions" -- but in this case I love them. I MIGHT change the ribbon. I can't tell from the picture, but a wedding invite should have a lusciuos high quality ribbon, perhaps real silk. I think it is worth the $$. It is hard to tell in the pic what this ribbon really looks like. Otherwise, knock em dead!

This card is really lovely! The only thing I would suggest also has to do with the ribbon. If you don't want to have to tie a hundred or so perfect bows, you could do that ribbon addition where you punch two rectangles about 3/4 of an inch apart, put the two ends of the ribbon in going to the back and then crossing them and bringing them back out to the front. I personally like that way of adding a ribbon touch better than a bow, and it lays flatter for going in the envelope too.

You are really going to bless this couple!

I have to agree. The dark type is hard to read against the dark color of the leaves. Perhaps if you lighten up the leaves to make it more faded?

What she said about about tying so many bows might be a valid point though. Otherwise, I'd say they are wonderful, I was married in the fall & would've loved an invitation like this!
