I would bet most of us are fairly new to stamping and trying the learn. I know that is the case with me. Whenever I got stuck I would go to SCS and search for help. I am starting to post now, but my scanner hasn't arrived yet so I can't download any cards yet. I will as soon as I can.

I'm like a sponge, absorbing all this wonderful information, tips and techniques. But I don't have that much to contribute yet. Plus my day is full at the office and I try to lurk and learn whenever I can fit it in. This is one terrific site for great ideas!

I know that I lurked at first because I wanted to make sure this was a place I really wanted to be and would be positive if I were able to contribute!
I don't regret waiting to introduce myself! It also gave me time to learn the site! It seems the same questions are asked over and over so by staying quite I learned a lot!

I agree with Andrea, lurking was a great way to learn! I lurked for a while before I posted anything. Enjoyed posting cards right away, but waited to chit chat until I felt comfortable!
I don't know why I lurk..... I think I am shy and well, I'm not here THAT much, so it's a matter of how much time I have to look at uploads and check the forums before naptime is over, or the kids are home from school. I know... I shoud come out of lurkdome and say.......
HELLO!
;) I will try and be better about posting and coming out of "lurking".
I'm a part-time lurker ! In other words, I'm here as often as I can be but most of the time all of the questions have been answered already and I can no longer contribute anything more ! So, I lurk.
I have uploaded a couple of cards but I just don't know where you ladies find all of the time. Especially since most of you have small children at home. I have wanted to upload some cards this month but it is already the 12th and time is getting away from me. :( Maybe after the SCS Northwoods Gathering this Saturday I'll have some time to get some of my creating uploaded.
Regardless if your a lurker or an active participant, I cannot say enough about what this site has to offer. One of the best things is that is will put a smile on my face at least daily
Well, if Cami can be considered a lurker - then I'm probably on the wrong site. I lurked for a few months before I came out of my shell. A subject must have caught my eye that I thought I could contribute on and then it just spiraled from there.  But, I still lurk quite a bit.
I mostly lurk because I feel like I don't know as much as most of you here. I'm fairly new to stamping and still learning. But I love lurking and learning, lol.
hey Cami - as soon as I design a sarcasm font, I'll be sending a copy to you! :o
No, Pam.... you are the sarcastic one remember? Don't you go pushing off titles on me babe!
Okay.... so I'm not a lurker. SHEEZ! I can't get away with anything here!
Yah, Jenn... you lurk. Ahem..... yah, WHATEVER! I think you need help! You kill me! Okay... got my giggles for today. I'm off my rear and out of lurkdome! LOL LOL LOL
I mostly lurk because I feel like I don't know as much as most of you here. I'm fairly new to stamping and still learning. But I love lurking and learning, lol.
I tend to lurk when I start visiting a new site, because that way I can learn the "rules" and the "players" without committing any faux pas. And let me tell you! I have committed some doozies in my day, thanks to my "foot-in-mouth" disease.
Although I guess on a forum that would be "hand-and-keyboard-in-eye" disease. Quite a mouthful!
Haven't uploaded many cards yet, either, since I mostly CASE, and don't really feel right uploading designs that are not my own. I am getting better though, so I have a few labeled to be uploaded.
My momma always said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Well, I guess maybe I haven't thought of anything nice to say...or anything bad, either. Just nothin' to say! See? So I lurk. Just like my real life...I pretty much lurk there too!

When I was a lurker, I thought - "All these gals know each other already - they sound like old friends!" So I was a little intimidated. But I found out that's how they got to know each other...by chiming in.
I don't have a ton of time to chat, being at work and all, but when I see an interesting forum, I dive in!
Cami - I am the Executive Director, Department of Sarcasm and Smart Remarks which means there must be others in the dept - otherwise, who would I be directing? Admit it - you're a key player on the team!
I think I jumped in too but I really got a sense of thinking this was a community when the pictures started to get posted as avatars! That really made it seem so personal. And now that I see your pictures, I realize that some of you are so much younger looking than I imagined, by all that wisdom you imparted on us! :-)
I think many lurkers start posting by commenting on cards and that is a great way to start!
Hee hee hee....I wasn't going to respond b/c I am lurking!!!!!
I lurked for a while, too, but then I posted a lot of comments in the galleries and then I think something caught my eye in the forums and started posting there, too! I don't talk that much in real life, but I love having so many people to talk with who share my enthusiam and obsession with stampin' and scrapbooking!
I do still lurk quite a bit because most questions that are asked have already been answered or I have NO IDEA about!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I lurked for a couple of weeks before I sent my first post. I am still fairly new and still probably lurk more than I post. I'm still learning a lot about the site and really enjoying my time. As I stay here longer I will probably post more. Well back to lurking..............
Let's see my first post was at 8:31am the day I signed up so I think I must have lurked for about 1 minute.
I lurk in person - I have a hard time in large groups and sometimes even small groups - but from behind the monitor and keyboard, no problem! If I say something dopey, I can just hit the backspace key and no one knows but me. Now, if all computers had built in cameras, either I wouldn't use it or I'd cover it over somehow!!! When I get embarrassed (sp?), I turn red and the more embarrassed I get, the brighter the red. Years ago, I worked with some guys who found it very entertaining to see just how red they could get me to turn. Their goal was to get me as red as a sweatshirt that I used to wear. Thankfully, they didn't do that very often - probably because I stopped wearing that sweatshirt.
I agree with look-inkgood, it seems like everyone is part of a good group of friends and you all know each other well. I felt like I was intruding a bit. I've been a lurker for awhile, but I've just started posting more recently. I've decided to just jump right in when there is something I want to comment on. You all may wish I stayed a lurker
Julie
Okay, I'll quit lurking and post! Actually, I've started to type in my 2 cents every now and then. I agree that it sounds like a lot of you ladies already are old buddies, which is a little intimidating. At the same time, you sound like old buddies that I'd like to have, so here I am. I haven't posted any cards yet, because I'm still pretty new, and case alot of what I do, at least in part. I need to fire up my scanner and put in a few things I'm proud of, though.
Anyway, I enjoy this site so much (more than I should, since most of the time I'm supposed to be working online), and I'm looking forward to getting to know this group better.

Dawn - I joined in January, lurked for a while, then like my usual self just jumped right in! Now I feel like I'm "old buddies" with lots of ladies on this site! It's contagious. I've learned lots, about the ladies here AND stamping! It's my favorite place to be!
Jump outta lurkdom! You'll be glad you did!

I have to admit...I am a lurker! I could spend all day on here if I didn't have 3 kids and a house to clean!! I've only been stamping since June so I don't have much expertise to contribute.....but I sure love reading and learning from all of you!

I love this site!! I am here on a daily basis, I post if I feel I can be of some assistance other than that I just lurk around. Sometimes it is difficult to find where you fit into what seems like a group of old friends...it just takes a little time to find your place
i will try too - so far i am chicken of uploading anything i've done - first because i don't know how (although i'm sure i could figure it out) and second because everyone seems to be a demo - a professional! now that i've been lurking around for a few weeks though i realize not everyone is a demo, not everyone has "new" ideas - just cool creations. i guess i could do that. that will be my goal with my next great creation - post on scs! i am just proud of myself forbeing able to post ANYTHING!! this is the first message board i've ever been on...
OK..my name is Chris and I will admit I am a lurker! NOT ANYMORE!! Hello from Michigan! I really enjoy SCS and I promise to contribute.
Welcome, and hello from Michigan also! what part of Michigan??
I don't think I've ever been a lurker, it just goes against my "big mouth" although I guess in this format it would be called "big fingers"

okay - this lurking thread inspired me to at least add some information to my sign in stuff. i even tried to add a picture (avatar?) but it said my pixels were too large. anyone know how to shrink the pictures pixels?? (that's a tongue-twister.)

Okay..... I'll admit to "lurking" in your dept!
Welcome lurkers.... glad to see you creeping out! See? It didn't hurt one bit! Love that pig avatar! Too funny!
