I don't use tic tac boxes, but Walmart has a storage box that has 24 smaller boxes (like tic tac boxes) in the larger box and the whole thing sells for around 5.00. I use them to store my eyelets and brads in. They were in the craft section of Walmart near the jewelry beads near the bottom shelf. They have some other storage units with large opening, but some times these are hanging up. Ask if you don't see them and check back often. They sell out, but seem to be one of those items that replish. I love mine. They have two openings. One like tic tack to get one out and then you can pull the top of to get a larger amount out. I don't like the containers they originally come in because it is too easy to spill them. this would be faster and cheaper than buying tic tacs i would think. Hope this helps.

I use these as well, and I really like them for "ALL" those little things I have collected over the years. When I grab out my "big box" it reminds me that I have all of these choices. I also have the turn-around holder for the SU containers of embellishments. I like that too but find that I wasn't using it as much because I couldn't "see" what I had. I used my lable maker and labled the round containers and I am using them more now.
If I don't see it, I don't use it, so I have to have all my things in see-thru containers. I tried the tic tac containers but found that they didn't work for me because of the paper around it that I found impossible to get off :(
But that's just me!
I have some of my buttons in small jars and use my acrylic paints on the lids, put a sticker on the lid and modge podge over it.
I've used the tackle/craft boxes too, and I do like them, they keep things organized and the pockets are deep. The only thing I don't like about them is if I want to dump out a pocket of eyelets/brads/things, I can't do that - mine aren't all SU so there may be packets that are multi colored and I want to dig out a certain color. So then I started using pill boxes. They have the individual pockets but they have a separate lid so each pocket is their own container. I liked those a lot because they were smaller and easier to bring places. I did find at Archivers this way cool cylinder shaped bag that holds six bigger pill boxes and each box has six compartments. They store in the bag, the bag has a handle, a locking/clasp on it so it doesn't fall open. And its just very funky looking. So my brads/eyelets are in there now. I was a bit pricey, like $20-$30 but I had a half off coupon and I wanted a present. But I do love it.
Nope, I use a Cropper Hopper box, with many smaller boxes in it to keep my tiny embellishments like eyelets and brads sorted out. Before I had that, I used what my friends and I call a 'brad pit' that was a small plastic box divided into sections with a snug fitting lid.

I use something similar from walmart. in canada it was 9.99, and holds small boxes. while they don't have the tic tac type opening they do have an attached hinged lid. I find it uber easy to use and very organised

I have 3 of the 14 compartment containers.(so far!)
I love them because they are really thin so they fit really well in tote bags and they open seperately so that you can dump out whichever compartment you need without dumping the whole thing out. They are very affortable too.
I got mine at WM.
i got my tic tac container box from OTC, too. each larger box (which isn't huge) holds a good amount of the tic tac boxes. i got two of them so they hold pretty much all my eyelets and brads. i love that they are compact and won't spill. i had to find something else besides those su! and MM containers that swing open ... i spilled so many of those darn things i was about to give up on eyelets and brads in general!
I used to keep all my brads, eyelets and buttons in the fishing tackle clear boxes.. then I bought the Stampin' UP! Stack & Store and LOVE IT!! Worth every penny.. sits right on my desk because it doesn't take up much room and it within arms reach, whereas the other containers had to sit off to the side on a shelf.

I would have never thought to use the tic tac containers. That is what I love about this place!!
I found a container from Michael's that is similar to the small tacklebox but it has individual hinged lids for each compartment. I love it! It makes pouring out very easy if needed! I should have bought two. Not sure they still carry them. :(

I have a couple of the locking ones too and love them. Got mine at Michaels in the beading aisle

I also use the box from Walmart with the little boxes....love it.
In addition to that, I use the baby food plastic containers with the lids, for ribbons, embellies, etc. They work great too!;) ;)
I have a new grandson who has advanced to baby food. I spotted some of the rectangular shaped plastic containers that the #1 (???) baby food comes in. Lids seem to snap on tight and they are semi-clear and stackable. I've had my daughter-in-law save some for me. Thought I might try them to store eyelets, beads, etc. Anyone done this yet???
I use the blue topped tic tac containers for carring asprin in my purse as well as my beading. I tried to use them for eyelets. I felt the containers were too large and the opening too small. There used to be a brand of mints that were little tiny balls that melted in your mouth. Those containers are really small with tiny holes for the opening. I have used those for traveling with microbeads.
I use little containers to store small punched things (I keep punches with me while I work so that I can punch my scraps as I go) Little flowers etc... make cute hostess gifts (You could put the tic tac container in a tic tac holder too) :0) Here's the search for tic tac holder:
I used to use the tackle boxes, but found it difficult to get out what I wanted, so I never used any of it. I recently switched to using empty baby food jars and they are PERFECT! I can take them with me, and can empty them out into my hand to get what I want. And they look pretty stacked on my shelves.
I love using tic tac boxes to hold little things. My husband quit smoking and now uses tic tacs instead. Way cheaper and better for his health
So I have lots of these boxes. They hold quite a few of the little brads and eyelets. I found a semi clear plastic box at the hardware store that I can fit about 24 of the tic tac boxes in.
On another note, I have had pretty good success getting the labels off with Goo Gone.
I bought some storage cases that have clear pull-out drawers, 6 across, 10 down. Each one is pretty deep, about 8 inches, and 2 inches wide, 1.5 tall. They are marketed for guys to use for screws, nuts, bolts, etc. But they are AWESOME for my small embellishments. Right now they are sitting on my desk but I will be mounting them on the wall under my ribbon storage soon.
I dump the buttons, brads, tags, chipboard, etc. each in their own drawer. Then I use a glue dot to glue a sample of what's contained in the drawer on the outside of the drawer under the little pull handle. I can see instantly what I have (well, sometimes it's fun to pull out each drawer to see all my cool stuff, too).
I bought another one that has the same overall dimensions but there's five rows going down of small drawers and then three rows of bigger drawers, like 2.5 by 4 inches. I use those for flowers that I don't want crunched or bigger chipboard or whatever! I'll try to take a picture later and post it.

I put my brads into round "Icebreaker" containers....similar to what you are doing... I like the fact that I can stack them so they do not take up a lot of room. Also the SU eyelet containers stack nicely on top.
Haven't thought about the tic tac box..Great Idea!

I use the same thing as sam, started about 2 months ago and I am using brads alot more now that i can find the colors easy enough.
That's a relly cute idea! Actually I think we saw some embellishments that CAME PACKAGED in Tic Tac containers at CHA (sorry, I don't remember the copany!) and thought "how cute"! This just made me remember it and I hadn't even thought about how I could just get my own Tic Tacs LOL!!! TFS!

I have used these boxes for several years, and always loved them until I recently needed to buy another set. I have now purchased and returned 3 sets because the lids did not fit tight. At first I thought I was being very careless in fitting on the lids, but then found the lids just slipped off. WM suggested I call the company to explain the problem. When I did, they seemed almost annoyed by the call and just told me to return them to WM. I will be needing a few more in the future but I am getting tired of buying and returning them. Does anyone else have this problem?
Hi everyone - I use the tic tac boxes. They are so great! To get the labels off, I use un-do. I found it in Walmart's scrapbook section. It takes off all kinds of adhesive including the stickers that void if you peel them :-)
I bought at box in the Walmart craft section that turns out is just a locking day-of-the-week-pill container. It still had the braille letters for the days of the week on the lids! But I do like it.
I use a clear plastic circular storage box that has 12 seperate pie shapes. I found this at Hobby Lobby and really like them. Each slice holds the typical number of small brads or small eyelets in a package, but if it overruns, I just use two slices. The circles stack and I have fourteen stacked and they don't take up too much room. Not good for larger brads and eyelets. They were not very expensive. If you travel with your supplies, you might need to tape them together with blue painters tape to transport.

OK, I have been using the Tic Tac boxes with 24 per case, until....one of you mention the little cases from Harbor Freight.
Well, we went to Chico today and stopped there and I got one to try! OMG they are so neat I am going back for more! They are easier for me to get into that the Tic Tac boxes. 24 little boxes inside a case for $3.39!

Maybe someone already said this...I did not read all of the posts...in the bead/crafts dept at walmart they have clear containers that have something like 20 or more tic tac type containers in them for this exact purpose. I have them and love them!! I have all my brads plus much more in them.
For the larger stuff...I went to walmarts sporting goods and they have a package of two mini boxes 8 1/4 x 4 1/2 that have 18 little divided compartments in them...that what I use to store the larger stuff...just the right size and does not take a load of room.
I use a similar product to Sam, but I got it from OTC. Works fine for small brads, eyelets, teeny rhinestone bling, etc.
I ordered mine from OTC too. I LOVE them. I separate my eyelets, etc. in them and then I labelled each box by color: reds, oranges, etc. It makes it SO much easier to find what I need!
