As I try to come up with something to do for the LSC I realize why it is called a challenge! I have spent years accumulating lots of tools to create with, only to “limit” myself! Hence, the challenge . . .
This challenge has several facets, so be sure to read all of the instructions before charging off into your own “creative land.” First, I realized I don’t do birthday cards very often, so this was particularly a challenge for me and is the first part of the challenge – to use a birthday theme.
Next, I would like you to use four layers or less. I have been thinking about this a lot, and I think in the future that when I post a challenge the amount of layers won’t matter, because I figure we ALL have paper, right?? For this one, though, stick to four layers or less.
The last aspect of this challenge is the toughest. You may use ink pads, but NO OTHER form of ink or coloring (this includes markers of any kind, crayons, colored pencils, gel pens, blender pens, etc.). If you have a bold image, that should not be a problem. But, if you choose to use a line image, you will have to paper piece the colors into your image if you wish to fill it in. The beauty of it, though, is that all of the paper-pieced parts only count as ONE LAYER (thought I’d make at least PART of this a little easier).
Also, ribbon/cord is the ONLY allowed embellishment (I know, this may be tough). Please, no Cuttlebugging, Stickles, brads, eyelets, Primas, Nestabilities, etc. Punches are okay, but try to limit them (I only used them for the sentiment.) Stick with the paper, ink and ribbon (and, of course, your stamps!) Have fun!!
My daughter, Amelia (aka Wendybell’sGirl) helped me out with a sample once again. She came up with an idea and finished before I did!

If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

I have an idea. Of course ideas have a way of taking off on a direction all their own! Great limited supply challenge, Wendybella!

This sounds fun. Layers aren't a problem for me because I am not big into them - but I think I will have to check out my solid images if I'm not allowed pencils or paints ;-).
Thanks for a really great challenge this morning.

This was a great challenge. I already had almost finished a card for two other challenges this week. This has only 3 layers, no embellishments, not even ribbon. Here it is: seaside birthday by yellowrose46 at Splitcoaststampers

Here's mine! Thanks for the challenge... I needed a simple one but I am sorry the picture makes it look awful! The colors IRL look awesome but it's so overcast out I can't get a good picture that doesn't make the river rock colors look gray! Thanks for looking anyway and perhaps later after the Dentist appt. I might be able to get a better picture.

This is my VERY SIMPLE offering for today's challenge.
I would like to to another one, but this is a card I needed for the weekend, so now that's done and dealt with .
Thank you.
