Hi! I was wondering if someone could please pass along the instructions for doing a glitter window with packing tape. I've seen several wonderful cards that feature glitter windows and would like to try it. I would really appreciate the help!
I want to know how to do this, too! I've noticed lots of new sample cards done this way, and I assumed I was the only one who didn't know this technique Please take pity on us and share the secrets for this interesting technique...
Waiting with glitter in hand,
Susy
There are several ways to do a glitter window. The easiest is done with packing tape. Take your cardfront and punch a square or circle in it. Now turn it around and tape packing tape over the punch, so that the sticky side will be on the outside. Then pour Glitter over. The glitter window is done. Just stamp your image on the inside of the card ....or stamp it on a scrap of paper and tape it to the inside.
If you have a Xyron machine you can do it a different way. Stamp your image on acetate with stazon. You can color it in with sharpie markers. Now run it through the Xyron machine. Take the backing off and add glitter. Now adhere it to the CS. I like this method better. The glitter is more contained. Thanks to Janine for sharing it with us!
I hope this helps.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs and smiles,
Beate,
Thanks for the speedy response - shamless begging sometimes pays off! Can't wait to try out both techniques to see which works best for me.

i have a question. how do you adhere the acetate to the cardstock if it is now covered in glitter? I can't figure out where you would apply the adhesive!! thanks!! .
I stuck it on with double-sided tape. I put that on the CS with the glitter side on top of it. That way the glitter was contained. It still sparkled but without getting everywhere.

Hope this makes sense. Hugs,
Our group of ladies LOVE glitter....we don`t care where it is.....on our faces, clothes and rugs....oh, and lots of it on our cards....we figure if some falls off when the receiver of our cards open them....well then they are "glitter-blessed" too!
