They stamp really beautifully and there are a lot of samples in the gallery.
They are great just in one color but some of the coloring done out there is fab. I tried the fly fishing one the other day - It Doesn't Get Any Better. I was thrilled with how the coloring was coming along... then I did the waterfall part and it looked fake. I haven't had the chance to get started on it again. Don't know if I'll ever be able to reproduce the good parts again :( . They are well worth the time and effort if you try coloring, but look beautiful in one color too.
My hands are on these stamps all the time (since I'm on the design team) and they do stamp really well.

Thanks for the link to the video, Sherrie. I have one lone Thomas Kinkade stamp, which I'm trying to get the hang of. I'll be looking for the video on how to color it.
My attempts at coloring these gorgeous images have not been successful, but really, they are so beautiful done "plain" that they are worth the $$$.
Plus, CHF has amazing customer service.

have you tried just adding highlights of color with chalks? It is really pretty to just add spots of color on the flowers with chalk and a q-tip....I did do a full coloring tutorial on the Kinkades with copics in photo form here: http://forums.cornishheritagefarms.c...pic.php?t=1348
I find the Kincaide stamps to be difficult to color. Plus you have to have the right kind of paper which requires experimentation. They look great all one color. I am doing Silent Night as my Christmas card this year. Used semi gloss paper - glossy paper just didn't work.

Niki, you should watch the video I linked, it gives you good suggestion on what paper to look for with what ink for what kind of coloring you are trying....
I ordered the Stoneharth Hutch Vingnette a couple days ago, I can hardly wait to get it and try it out. I love detailed coloring. I do not have Copic Markers though :( . I generally use Tombow markers or Watercolor pencils. Does anyone know if I can use thes?

It really isn't hard to color these images. You just have to pick several colors to layer on top of each other to give the images some depth. Instead of just coloring the bricks brown, I used three different brown colors, for example. It just takes some patience and some time to sit down and play. (Erasers come in handy too!! )

I don't have Copic markers either. I just use what I got. I have been known to color with regular ol' Crayola pencils (yeah, the kind kids take to school with them, hehehe), as well as watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, Prismacolor pencils (with and without gamsol/stumps), and chalk. I haven't actually used markers directly on mine, but who's to say you can't? Go play and experiment. Tell us how it goes!

Thanks for the info Sherrie! I have one TK stamp - foxglove cottage - and once I attemted to colour it.. but then gave up.. However I am very tempted to purchase the Christmas TK stamp - the one with the house.. I'll be checking back to this thread..
BTW Sherrie - I've really enjoyed your tutorials and found them very helpful and informative - love those new critter stamps.. I'll be putting in a CHF order one way or another very soon!!
Great company - fabulous service and stamps - and yes, the Thomas Kinkade stamps are effective just done monochromatically - maybe with a few highlights.

I bought my first TK stamps when they came out last year. It's only in the last few weeks that I have been satisfied at all with the results when coloring them. I find many of the results harsh, especially when colored with markers. However, chalks and watercolors are the two ways I have found that work for me with the TK stamps.
Oh my DD and I love TK.......we've got 3 stamps so far and they're soo gorgeous!!! I get a nice, clean image by inking up the stamp and using my Sizzix (that Kub showed on his blog) for getting an even pressure. And my DD loves to color them with chalks. We'll be ordering a few more before winter I believe!! And I agree......I've only ordered one time (so far ;) ).........but CHF has wonderful products and customer service!!!
I just purchased one this afternoon and experimented, but am not happy. I don't have the VersaFine ink, only the Versamark. I stamped on SU Whisper White, but the image seemed to dark all over to do any coloring at all. Maybe I need more practice just with the stamping part. I did look at the video though and will check it out once again.
I know when I inked mine up, I had to stamp it a few times before I got a nice detailed image. I'm glad to see the comments on coloring - I'll be trying watercolor and chalks. I hadn't tried watercolor yet because I thought it would be hard to get a good detailed image of the stamp on watercolor paper ~ it seems like the texture would interfere. Any thoughts from those who watercolor them??
Phantom - I like to use the hot press watercolor paper for stamping as it is very very smooth. I get big sheets of Fabriano from my local art store and it's fantastic. Only $4-5 for a huge sheet, I just cut off little bits. However, the SU whisper white and PTI Stampers Select white are also really nice.
My favorite ink is Versafine. Second favorite is SU Classic Black. Did not like Palette or Staz-On.
For coloring, I like the SU pastel chalks. I think markers, pencils, crayons or paints work fine - use whatever you want! If you don't like it, stamp it again.

I've had my TKs for a while, and they are my favourite stamps to colour! I usually stamp on to SU Whisper White, and use Stazon or Palette Noir. Most times I use Prismacolour pencils to colour, following the picture on the stamp for colours (or as close as I can get!). If you use Prismacolour pencils, make sure you get a colourless blender pencil to help when you do water or snow. Also, I sometimes colour over whites in those things with the palest blue colour of pencil or the pale grey, and they blend nicely and look better. The pale blue is #423 and the pale grey is #364 in the Scholar pack of pencils.
Then, I cover the ebtire thing with Versamark and clear EP, and heat emboss. Gives it a nice finished look. I don't usually use gamsol on these.
My next challenge is using Prismacolour markers for TKs!

I find that by using my brayer on the inkpad first and then brayering it onto the rubber works the best. I've used all types of ink and they all turn out very well using this method. I just love the detail of the Kinkade stamp!
I am inking with Versafine Graphite black and was applying the ink to the stamp like the video, swirling and tapping. I am getting a "too dark" image most of the time so I tried it with a brayer like the video except with the Versafine. I love the brayer technique. I'm getting a great depth of ink and am able to "see" the image much better. I am absolutely loving TK. Here's a link to one of my cards Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I have the lighthouse one too. Today I tried it out with the VersaFine and liked it better, but I haven't tried watercoloring it. I have the smaller image of the lighthouse, the one in the oval. Maybe that makes a difference with the detail, I don't know. I haven't tried the brayer yet, but will have to try that technique too.
TCHK your TK cards are beautiful. I'm always amazed when someone makes cards that look like they went to the store and spent big bucks on them. I keep trying to look that professional, I just need a lot more practice. :-)
